Can you talk about the concepts behind your choices? Random combinations of techniques seldom work, and for the student without a concept he's left with nothing else.
As a beginner, it is hard for me to see that, even when he plays the wrong note, he still sounds good. But every mistake we do almost always sound awkwardly horrible.
