That's a massive advantage that ICE vehicles have over EVs. Driving fast/loud car, you can have the time of your life without even breaching 20mph. EVs are only great at full blast and most likely breaking the law. Some of the cars I drive including a modded 992 911 I couldn't stop smiling. Cheeks literally hurt after
If you go 964 you gotta get the RS but idk that 930 is pretty nice as well. I already have a cayenne s but I’m in love w my m340i. Definitely wanna get rid of the cayenne and upgrade my p car to a 911 one day tho.
go with the 997 man... all 3 have been in the family, and to be quite honest, anything other than the 997 feels and drives like a turd!! dont get me wrong they are all great... but seriously, go with the 997... had a 997.2 gt3, non RS like the one in the video, quite literally the best porsche ever made...
The dealer I work for has quite a few 964’s.. I haven’t driven a real RS but we’ve had a slew of RS Americas, and dude.. buy a base C2, or a turbo 😂 RS America is not worth the premium at all, but a base car has great bones, and the turbo will blow your socks off. I’ve got a 996.2 C2 with a bored 4.0, P car 4L
Ive got a Gen1 997 GT3 and the mid rev delivery is just a dream along with the gearbox. You feel part of the car if you drive it well rather than more modern performance cars when you feel like a passenger. You feel special every time you get in. Drove it earlier this year from Scotland to LeMan24 hour was a great car to drive all that way. GET ONE!
I love my 997. I’ve driven almost all generations of 911 and it’s the best balance of size, performance, sound, creature comforts, and design. The only generation I’d prefer is a long hood hot rod.
If you can afford it, Porsche is the right car to fanboy. They’re just the best “drivers” car and have been since the beginning. The only real answer to big displacement is Porsche
Tj, put your car into gear and pull both paddles. It puts the car into neutral and will let you rev to redline while you are stopped. I have a .1 at work right now that I put an exhaust on and can confirm that it works because I tried it.

I know TJ isn't a traditional automotive journalist, but the emotion he expresses driving some of these cars is better than i've seen any journalist give. I'm sure a huge part is because of what the cars are but the expression and love for them is priceless. Nice man!
This is exactly how I feel when I drive my E36 M3, and the reason that I'll keep it for many years. It is so analog and just begs to be driven. NA for life.

Dude I don't know what it is about the 997 but TJ described it perfectly, those mid-low tones this car produces is a literal symphony! I'd probably tear up every time I drive this car. There's few I can say actually FEEL alive, this one is it

Bought a 997.1 Carrera S Cab manual two months ago. It doesn't have the Mezger engine but what I can say is that it keeps pulling. It wants to keep going faster and faster through all the gears. By the time you get to fifth gear you're already going too fast. Every time I drive my Porsche it puts a smile on my face.
I have a 2007 GT3 now and I had a 2008 Elise SC. The Elise was amazing and felt like a go-kart. The GT3 is more civilized and solid but comparable to the rawness of the Elise. Both cars are great.

I am a huge JDM fan, but Porsche is my favorite euro car brand. Vintage classics for everything. The 964 and 930 style are just great. Stock body, or RWB widebody it is a dream car of mine too
I'll tell ya, I love the 991, I do... BUT, the 997 looks like a place I'd rather be, the interior, the noise, the shifts its got it all... That's the winner imo.

Older cars are just better - it’s the emotion. 2002-2012 was such a peak time for performance cars. More accomplished than older cars but raw enough to be emotional.
