Excellent interview. TA Sekhar really bowled well, and I did watch his bowling when I was a kid. I also remember about those dropped catches by Vengsarkar in Pakistan. Dirty politics spoiled many great cricketers. If IPL would have been available those days, he would have shined.

So unfortunate India could not avail the services of this wonderful gentleman. Indian fans were robbed of the delight of watching this tall, strong, and athletic bowler with fiery pace on so many occasions. One cannot refrain from feeling sad at the travesty of justice in his career. From the interview it's evident he has taken these setbacks also philosophically and moved on to produce so many international fast bowlers. Hallmark of a true sportsman.

Though he is a 2000 kid, he has done intense homework, except for one place where he got confused with the Pakistan tour of 82-83 for 88-89 and asked if Srikkanth was the captain.

TA Sekhar a very nice gentleman.He was not given the chance what should have been given. Kapil Dev ensured that Raju Kulkarni, Yograj, TA Sekhar careers. Dilip Vengsarkar dropped the catches which spoilt TA Sekhar career. Poor guy luck didn't help him. Selectors did not help him . Even though we know but good to hear from the horse mouth. Memories sharp. Very good to hear.

I saw him bowl in 84-85 at the wankhede TN vs Mumbai. He was menacingly fast with a mean bouncer.Shockingly was never in Indian team.Sadly Kapil though a fast bowler never encouraged any challenge to his chamcha Chetan Sharma.

I still remember, in 1984 series against England last odi match was disturbed due to rain. Then it reduced to 15 overs match. In that match TA Sekhat played. Long running taller than Kapi dev it turned everyone focus on him. He too bowled well. Unfortunately, he didn’t appear after. Due to this bad politics ruined his career. But TA sekhat must be proud was being produced great fast bowlers to Indian cricket under MRF shadow. A genius student cannot be a good teacher, but unfamiliar guy can be a good teacher. TA Sekhar comes under second category. Though Kapil Dev was a great fast bowler in India, but he never produced after him like Imran Khan found like Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis etc.,

Salil Ankola and Ravi Shastri used to say the same thing about Kapil as well. Kapil as a senior player never bothered to motivate or provide tips to youngsters. It was always only himself. even though not a fan of Imran Khan's anti-India sentiments, the guy used to bring up so many youngsters...Kapil Dev , zero.

I had opportunity to watch T A Sekar at young age in local matches at chennai and other players like Ramdayani. He used to bowl very fast even with tennis ball. He played for India at age of 31 when he was already not his prime age

Watched him play in Southern Railway grounds Perambur for Alwarpet CC if I remember right. Lightning quick and took 3 wickets in 2 overs before lunch. He had a slingy action and Literally ball was flying from his hands.Dirty politics all over robbed off his gifted talent.

He should have been given more chances but north Indian bias always works against southern talent. However, from the 2 tests he played, he could not take a single wicket from 34 overs he bowled. That's is not really a compelling record for anyone to select him again for tests. One can boast that he/she was the quickest at some point in his/her career. But, what is the point in bowling fast if he can't take wickets. Although there were missed catches, how about bowled/lbw, caught behind? Couple of wickets in each of those matches would have made a difference to his career.

I have heard that TAS was unplayable especially during his initial spell and it is sad that the arrangements were poor even to receive him from the airport in Pakistan. The question here is why t a sekar was surprisingly ignored for the west indies tour and an injured madanlal was taken inspite of t a sekara excellent performance in the domestic circuit.. Remember t a sekar was the fastest bowler in the world in 1983 and he was not given ample opportunities to prove his worth in international matches. After that he was repeatedly ignored why and some point he gave up and retired.

@@shankar1dynamo694 "ayyengars" one cannot be a Brahmin by birth silly. Brahmin varna is based on "guna" (based on past karma) and occupation not birth. Pillai jathi is also baed on occupation which became birth based. Stupid birth based Brahmin caste and other castes solidified by reservatiions are a curse on India. But having said all that "curd rice" eating group can never bowl fast. 🤣🤣 It is the reason why Indian cricket dominated by "birth based" Brahmin caste could not produce even one good fast bowler from their "community". Kapil Dev (a punjabi Kshathriya) saved Indian cricket from birth based Brahmin politics.

It's fear and politics keeping the best fast bowlers out and lollipops in. Still India not learned lessons keeping out Natarajan and sandeep sharma.. If our pitches made into better for fast bowling more pace bowlers will come in. At that time as chennaiate i have seen sekar bowling, it's tremendous, except kapil no other bowlers can be in there to match him, we will give chances to preferred ones not to this talented guys, Imran nurtured lots of bowlers our guys are selfish

Just because there is a media today, and you need content, you bring such controversies for your survival? Every career has a conflict and Unfairness irrespective of caste or creed! Interviewing such achievers is to give positivity and hope and be role models for youngsters in promoting goodness. This channel like others seem to create an agenda of slandering any achiever who might have been winning with their own qualities but today create emotional. Perspective bound stories that people especially youngsters are brainwashed! I’m not sure if TA shekhar would have led the team to victory in World Cup, while Gavaskar himself couldn’t have! Bad anchor . Not well groomed , he asks questions based on his study about Sekar and expects answers in a way he wants . If the interviewer makes the person knows the interviewer has studied everything about him, he wont open up. The host is inclined to exhibit his knowledge 😊

I have not seen him bowl. But Gavaskar gave credit to him for his contribution in mrf pace foundation. North and south divide ruined us. Also there was a bias for brahmin players as well.

Only non Brahmin captains won the 50/50 world cup for India. Kapil won the trophy because he mostly avoided Mumbai players except unavoidable Gavaskar who tried his best throughout the tournament to ruin India's chances and Sandeep Patil who was handpicked by Kapil. But Dravidian Paid Media, Koothadee Culture never talked about these Majority and was more focused on brahmin Players. They even made a film to portray these Lies, win sympathy and get Box Office Money. But Genuine Players were forgotten.

Recently Karthee Chidambaram Questioned How come Tamilnadu Players sported there caste names. He was referring to Shreyas Iyer and Venkatesh Iyer.Both of these Players have no connection to Tamilnadu Team. They were born in Mumbai and Bhopal and representing there respective state teams. Brahmin Bashing, Falsehood and Lies were promoted extensively and youths believe this as Truth.
