IMSA is back! The WeatherTech Championship is about to take to the classic Watkins Glen International track for Round 6 of this 2024 season. There is so much to know when it comes to the next IMSA race including the entries, type of race, track, race history, standings, balance of performance, how to watch, and of course so much more! This is the race preview for the 2024 Sahlen's Six Hours of the Glen.

The equivalent safety car length would be 1hr, just for comparison. 1/6 of the race. 4 hrs would be a killer tho.

Really hoping Proton carries their momentum from Le Mans to Watkins Glen. Really want to see the Mustang GT3 in victory lane and those guys have been working hard at it. Also rooting for Lamborghini to have a really good result in the GTP category.

For several years I went to the Glen participating on Club Events. I took Viper ACR, Ferrari 458, Porsche GT3 RS and Ferrari BBLM I’ve been to great tracks in Europe, South America and the US. The Glen is among the three best tracks of all. Probably the fastest0

hear me out i love jesse krohn but put him in a gt3 car or make him the starting driver for the 24 because eng is clearly faster (correct me if im wrong)

I love how much faster the LMDh cars look going through the first few turns now than the formula one cars that would have raced there. Edit: I counted 15 turns altogether so I'm wondering what they class as a "proper" corner in the state of New York that makes only 11 total.

I doubt it unless there's either a change in rules regarding the hybrid system or they modify the cars specifically for the series. I don't recall there being a rule allowing the Hypercar racers to simply join the series. I could be wrong though, so don't quote me on it.

@@chrisrandom1404 if I’m not mistaken, Aren’t HyperCars and GTP’s under the same rules and regulations? Same as with GTD and LMGT3 are under the same rules and regulations. Im 99% sure but I’ll have to pull out my 2024 edition hand book here in a minute.

@@chrisrandom1404 you were correct, Imsa’s GTP rules and regulations differ from WEC’s HyperCar class. All GTP’s are mandated to have a hybrid system, unlike WEC’s where they don’t. Therefore not being eligible to race on the Imsa grid unfortunately
