This is one of the best balanced series I have watched this year. Plenty of diversity in car types and the classes really complement each other. Sure makes for some fantastic finishes. Commentary was excellent too. Thanks for the post!
Hey guys I’m pretty new to this type of racing coming from Nascar and my friends Ford2000 road racing but I was just wondering what series is the McLaren 570s in, and what’s TCR AND GS stand for ? I know I know I’m a rookie, I’m just really interested and don’t want to be kind of confused anymore lol, any help would be greatly appreciated guys, thanks !
Two part question Sir , Was Detroit televised and will you be posting it ? And why is the Camaro no longer in this series ? Used to watch it and could swear the Camaro was in this series , Thank ya for your time Sir .
Well...it’s a driver problem really. GT4 cars can be significantly faster than TCR cars, but if you have a slow driver in a GT4 there’s not a whole lot you can do. The Michelin Le Mans Cup has the same problem: LMP3 cars can be quite a bit faster than GT3 cars, but if the driver is slow, P3’s can - and do - get passed by GT3 cars.
Subaru Sti is only homologated for rally racing. If Subaru felt like it they could make a GT4 version and submit it, but I doubt they want to, sports car racing isn't their thing
Shawn Gray yeah but a normal rally version of a sti could build for this. They have a brz running in supergt and a wrx sti that runs the nurburgring 24hr and I think they win in their class about 4 times against some of these same type of cars.
GPRM out of the UK has a FIA GT4 homologated GT86 just no one has really bought into them besides the team that makes them, the car isn't too off pace when it comes to BoP either
I'm not saying it wouldn't be a cool car, but it isn't eligible to run in this series, due to subaru not homologating the car to run in the GT4 or TCR spec classes which this series runs. the brz runs in GT300 which is equivalent to GT3, but Subaru hasn't registered that for Global GT3 either, so it can only race in Super GT (Like the V8 Prius). nurburgring 24hr has about 12,456 different classes, and is also largely separate from the global GT scene. These GT series are meant to be customer racing, and Subaru might want more factory involvement than would be allowed, these cars are all adjusted to run similar laptimes.
Shawn Gray ok I understand but I think these race shouldn't be restricted you know just saying let the world enjoy the series. I like the cars that are in the series but it's too common we need to see a little mixing up with AWD, RWD, FWD. 10 cylinder 8 cylinder 6 and 4.
