i still dont understand why he wears one though. I read somewhere that some shia muslims wear them, it would've been understandable if he was raised in a punjabi area but he's been raised in jamshedpur. So how come he wears that? (+muslims in general tend to accessorize as less as possible)

Man of depth. I never kept these films in a bucket ( Rockstar, Tamasha, Jab we Met). And also never paid much attention to who the director was. But loved these films independently. Today after listening to this amazing human, and knowing that these films were directed by him, I realise what depth he carries and why and how he directs such masterpieces. Just amazing! It all makes more sense now. Gonna watch Chamkila for sure!

I always admire his movie for the fact that his heroines are always shown independent and liberated… They never wanted a shoulder to cry on but they can be that shoulder… Thamaasha is one such movie that I connect with myself where I know the power o that shoulder to cry on.. Always looked upto imtiaz ali. Grown up watching him. But didn’t expect him to talk about the sense of responsibility towards people as a filmmaker. This is the first time i heard someone from Bollywood talk about this concept- i always thought on these lines. Sir you are truly a legend. Shayad aapki soch se bana ek insaan hoon main yaa aapki kahani ka ek kirdaar hoon. Kabhi mauka dia jeevan ne toh zarur aapse mulaqat hogi.

I had met Imtiaz sir once because he was hiring ADs for Rockstar… He was so real and humble then… and all that he is saying here is not a pretence… he truly is like that… in 15 mins… he can leave an impact on u such that u will remember him for ever
Success term seems so underrated when he speaks. His perception of seeing and explaining things sounds like a dimension of life, which we the normals can never experience due to the noise around us. Great podcast.

Imtiaz is saying that there were many coincidences in the making of rockstar...he calls it serendipity. But when these kind of things happen, you should know a spirit of a loved one is helping you. Its not coincidence, it is involvement of a loved one who is there in spirit in ur life.

There are very few directors in Bollywood who inspire me, but none like Imtiaz Ali. His movies make us think and interpret them in our own way, rather than relying on what others say. That's the beauty of his films. Every time I watch Imtiaz Ali's films, they give me solace. His cinematography, stories, dialogues, and songs always inspire me and help me through difficult times. Beyond being a director, I admire how he talks, his views on Indian spirituality, and his deep insights. After Shahrukh Khan, Imtiaz Ali is the person whose speaking style, positivity, and personality I admire the most.
