Me too, lol... project has hit a few materials snags... limited supplies here on the island of Kauai... new video in a week as siding is going on now...
Why didn't you just use the foam panels als walls with fiberglass on it? You don't need wood and pvc tubes to keep it up. It is also good isolated against heat and cold. You can even make the floor out of it as you make it thicker and ad some support.
if I could do it over... fiberglass is also very expensive here... already got about $600+ into it. This is why we are going with birch panels for the interior.
@@DIYKauai I know, it isn't cheap. Here many cost around 2000 euro. Mine costed to build about 700 Euro and I am going to build a new one. I am building a quad and on the back comes a foam box. It will be from foam plates with a layer fiberglass. It only needs one layer and that way I keep the price low. Some don't even do anything on the outside of use poormans fiberglass. Any rules there for how big you may make it?
no rules because no bike campers at all on our island. Nowhere to go... I am making this for somebody else... won't even get to use it. We are at the end of the supply chain. If I could make the ultimate bike camper I would do boat-style fiberglass over Divinycell foam.@@emiel1976ep
@@DIYKauai there is one German that build one as a boat. He can hang it behind his bike and also go on the water with it and even carry his bike with him. On an island that would be great.
