Following my previous video about the new Parkside Performance 40V PPKSA 40-Li A1 chainsaw and its green brother PKSA 40-Li A1, in today's video I will compare them in action.
In Poland, the black model is to be sold from 1st April, but from what I can see the price is exactly the same as the green one. So obviously would take the black one due to the cooler look ;). And as it was pointed out, they give 5-year warranty for the black one so seems a better buy. Nice test, but I am not sure if it is a good idea to use chainsaw this size with one hand 😆
I really appreciate and respect your best interest in showing the Parkside products in advance, but don't ever cut with the chain saw with ONE HAND! It is very dangerous for you, and you give abad example for other viewers! I really like your videos and how you present them.
On large log: black: 57 sec, green: 68 sec. That is 20% slower. And the sound is very different between them. Video says in conclusion the tools are absolutely identical and only haters say otherwise. But your video shows black is 20% faster. I don't get it.
And on the small log the green chainsaw was faster - go figure it out. The truth is this needs to be extensively tested with tens of cuts on a special rig to exclude the human factor. But I don't have the time, neither the will to do it. The price of the two machines says it all.
I have the green version, and I'm really happy with it. I bought an adapter so I use bosch batteries. It doesn't heat up at all and there are no problems
@@igormanja i get it, question was if you can use parkside (or any other company batteries) into the bosch. It may sound radiculous, but i have an ebike from bosch and they have it all locked down only to bosch parts (batteries)
@@hurvinekspejbl6229 It can, but I haven't tried it. For example, on the parkside tool it is 'hacked' with a resistor (10k-15k) between minus and t (to imitate a thermistor). I don't know how it works specifically for bosch tools, but it certainly can
In conclusion, the black Parkside Performance Model is not worth the investment. But all in all, it's a joke from Parkside to say this is a performance model. There are absolutely no performance updates. The Parkside advertisement Team: Let's make a new performance Model! We need money. We make it black and call it performance. But keep internals the same. I'm totally disappointed.
Peace of mind to everyone I guess. No better circuit board control of the battery and motor. Probably the first performance tool that actually doesn't give better performance than regular version. Have a nice weekend
There are huge differences. Performance is a professional line and is far better quality, batteries last twice as long, the saw has much more power and cuts wood 40% faster.
@@icku I will take this comment as a joke. 😄 I don't know, I have a lot of professional and hobby tools, but the performance line made a great impression on me and I have no complaints about everything I've bought. On the contrary, many of them are much better than the more expensive tool manufacturers in that class, DeWalt, Bosch, Metabo, Makita... I don't know how long Performance will last, but I don't care because it has an absolute five-year warranty. The others do not do any better, they are even much weaker. That is my personal impression.
Both of them have the same Brushless engine... Perf. model have the BT function to connect with batteries and to an App also. Perf. model also offer 5y warranty. PPKSA 40 (perf. model) = 99€ in Germany. PKSA 40 (green model) 119€
Oh, the router sounds really interesting! I hope you can compare it to some of the "real" brand routers. Their corded router looked like junk in the reviews. Accuracy, vibration is really important for a tool that spins the cutter at 20-30k RPM...
Forget warranty, these Saws are so cheap there practically disposable. A very honest assessment and it shows cheap modern equipment will get the job done why pay a fortune for an expensive saw when one of these will do the same job,I have a petrol version of one of these Saws and I've easily cut a over thousand tonnes of timber with it and it's still going.
Mate, if that's not how you would use a chainsaw, why do you think it's a good way to test it? Both hands, you push down on it, have a rocking motion front down, back down. Just leaving it up to gravity all it does is prove that they both have the same chain speed when used with little load.
From almost every chainsaw manual "With the saw running at full speed, press against the wood with firm, steady pressure. Don't force it. Let the chain do the cutting." When holding it in the back the front end is just heavy enough to appy that steady pressure. Nothing more to say ;) If you don't believe me try holding your chainsaw in the air for the rear handle bar only.
I wouldn't put my left arm next to the chain if I were you. Fix the tree chunk to the trunk with a long chain, and put both of your hands onto the chainsaw ergonomic areas. Believe me you wouldn't like seeing your bones neither in your hand nor in your skull if the saw kicks back.
I have the green one and for the price its a great machine. U did the test well. If ididnt hade the green I would buy the black but I'm very happy with it
i see not a lot of difference but in the second test there is a 10 second difference between the two. Not only that but i can actually hear the performance having higher rpm. And i would also like to see the performance set the batteries to performance mode, something you can't do with the green one. I wonder what mode the smart batteries are set to, when they are connected to the green chainsaw. By the way ,you can't go wrong with either of them, both are exceptional tools for the money.
While in the first the green was 5 seconds faster than the Performance. They are identical, the difference in time depends on some imperfection in the wood (knots for example)
@@ΣΤΑΥΡΟΣΓΚΕΡΛΕΣ the batteries are factory preset in Performance mode. Even by connecting them to a non-smart tool, their profile can be changed because the bluetooth is on the batteries, not on the tool.
