Aurora was 11 years old when she wrote the song, the background was that near where she lived there was an older lady who used to scare the shit out of the kids, Aurora had and has a vivid imagination!

A poster said “Aurora’s lyrics are like a beautiful cloud with a sharp knife hidden inside”. I think that’s a great analogy. I love it.

3:20 I love it when she is singing "I've been walking ahead for a while, and dragging your body behind", while she is actually walking on stage, dragging the microphone stand behind.

I've always heard that line as "I've been walking a head for awhile, and dragging a body behind", as if she was carrying the dismembered head while she walks, lol

This is what Aurora said of the song in an interview with Aftenposten in 2015: - I often sit at home and write stories. I’ve been doing that since I was a kid. And sometimes I write songs based on some of the characters in that book. - One of them is a very scary lady who appeared in my head when I was 11 years old. It eventually became the song “In Boxes”. It’s a little scary if you listen to the text, she says and smiles.

I remember one reactor saying "Remind me to never go for tea at Aurora's house" LOL.........made me laugh. Yes, she does have a dark mind sometimes. "In bottles" is a follow up to this song if you're interested. As for her two new songs, not sure if there's going to be a video. Usually they are out by now, so not sure we are getting a video for either of those yet. Maybe not since the new Album drops in four days. Two new songs are really good though (of course)

Hi guys! Yes, we do have the same expression here in Norway, actually more or less directly translated as well :"Jeg kunne drept for litt selskap" means "I'd kill for some company". Great reaction as always! Love from Norway :-)

Dark...and oh, so playful! 😂 Extra fun that the audience was in on the joke, and loved it, too. Oh, nice - I loved your Norwegian viewers' answers to the question "do you have 'I'd kill for...'as an expression in Norwegian?"

Great reaction! "I'd kill for..." does work in Norwegian as well. I've heard it used, but not to often. At least not in my circles.

Great, one of my favorite songs. So funny, when you consider that this does not fit at all to the dear Aurora. 😁 She was scared of her neighbor at the time, her imagination went through with her and then wrote this song. The woman was scary to her. "In bottles" is a kind of sequel.

Aurora will drop new album very soon. In meantime she released 2 new great songs from upcoming album: Everything Matters (very poetic in my opinion and beautiful) and Dangerous Thing (I hear a little inspiration from country's music ;) - also very very good ).

It was released on her first EP in May 2015 before the first album. On her 2nd album from 2019 there is another song about the same woman: "In Bottles".

Thanks! Cheeky Aurora is always fun (just see her short RU-vid video from a few days ago). As others have said, In Bottles is the continuation or follow-up song to this. Not quite as dark, but catchy and the lyrics are interesting as always. I’m not sure if there’ll be music videos for A Dangerous Thing and Everything Matters anytime soon, due to a certain wave… but the lyric video and visualizer are both (more than) fine. It would be nice to see you check out another Susanne Sundfør song (perhaps a tune from her album Music for People in Trouble), and Highasakite (God Don’t Leave Me, Since Last Wednesday, Heavenly Father, Hiroshima, and yes - When the Party’s Over [Billie Eilish cover w/ Julie Bergan]. ;)

Nice reaction 👍 I love this song, funny 😂😍😍 Kill for some company, yes we do say it the same way in Norwegian 😅 "Jeg kunne drept for litt selskap"👍 You know what? now I was a little unsure if it was right😂😂😂🥰

Hi, as a Norwgian I really like your reactions 😊 we use "I would kill for" pretty often in our house (especially when we lack food we crave for) 😂 I am a bit curious if you would like Ylvis as well? As they have a pretty absurd humour, I am not sure. Would love to find out. They are from the same area of Norway as Aurora and Sigrid (nice name, my daughter is called Sigrid), brothers and good musicans with pretty nice voices. I would like if you try "old friends" and "Stonehenge" (quite different genres). And maybe Jan Egeland, a stadion rock song about a Norwegian UN peacemaker/politician. They are the guys doing "What does the fox say" which is not as clever (my opinion) as much of their other crazy ideas.

Darkness wrapped in upbeat and fun boxes.... 😜 well actually if you listen to Murder song 54321 on the album....it's quite different from the live performances... 😉 What would you expect from a girl/young woman who collects dead moths?? 😆 And no, We(Norwegians) don't have the expression "I'd kill for a ....cup of tea.." etc.. but we have quite a lot of gallows or black humor.... It's a way of surviving "up here".. so I guess AURoRA's running with the puns, and not the wolves in this one.... 🤪🤣🤣 (sorry, just me reaching for my funny bone😆)

Just speaking from my own region of Norway, we would say "I would die for some company" not kill for it. I love his song too! the Playfulness of it, while stil being so damn dark is so fun! A Halloween song for sure! ;)

Norwegian and English is actually quite similar.. except the pronunciation. And yes.. it’s something we can kill for. By the way.. Bergen ( Auroras hometown) has the same humor as the Brits.. that’s why I love living her🥳

One of her least serious songs. Fun actually. "I'd kill for..." I've not heard it in Norway, but then I've just been living there for 35 years.

Jeg kunne drept for litt felleskap. Is basically the translation, but I'm unsure how natural of a sentence it is. It definetly works, but as a Norwegian, english is tought so early in life that it might have come directly from there too

The subject of the lyrics sounds like something one might usually expect from certain Death Metal bands, but in this case with reversed roles. Interestingly (or not), Kari Bremnes wrote a somewhat humorous song titled "Mann på rommet" (i.e. "Man in the Room") heading in a similar direction, though more "child-friendly". In her story, a woman takes a man home to her house and when he eventually wants to go, she doesn't kill him, but just locks him up in a room, intending to keep him there, because she thinks that if she just puts enough effort into it, she will finally get him to really love her. As regards the music, this is one of her most upbeat songs. Unfortunately, there's no official live clip. This one - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-V7MTXIX3gX0.html - has an acceptable sound quality, but the picture quality is rather poor, whereas the following one - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-rrb7b6siQ5g.html - with a slightly different arrangement has a better picture quality, but is still not as good as her official live clips. You could, of course, still consider checking them out for your own private fun.

In my opinion it would be “I would die for” in Norwegian rather than “I would kill for”. But “I would die for” is not as commonly used in Norwegian as “I would kill for” in English.
