It is hard to believe it. One has to take a step of faith. It feels like you are stepping into nothingness and then.....the miracle happens and you are caught up in the love God has for you and your journey of new life begins. As you have expressed your unbelief to us, perhaps try telling God that you are having difficulty in believing that his wrath has been satisfied by the death of his Son on the cross and ask him to help you in your unbelief.
@@denisewood4174 I am not taking this further than to say that other people find that hymn hard to believe as well and its gone from being favourite to being forgotten. If you try to fathom what the lines suggest I do not think you end with any clear picture of why Christ suffered or who His Father is. Thats all I can say.i do not wish to pursue this more.
@@denisewood4174 The point is that a lot of people do not believe what this hymn makes of Christs Cross and what is more they have done all they can to have the words changed. When that never happened the hymn went from hymn books and now has lost its credibility. Ever thought why it ignores the Holy Spirit?
