Absolutely love Michael English. He was one of my favorite artist when I was a child and still is. I am happy that he is back and better than ever. Praise God for his transformation through Christ Jesus. Hang in there Michael, there are more praying for you than against you! Blessings!

A man who has truly walked in the valley and was fortunate enough to come out the other side. I've known Mike for 25 years and he's the real deal. When he sings the lyrics of songs now...it's a whole different ball game. God bless people like him who can take failure & loss of hope and, with God's grace & mercy, use it to help others walking that same valley. Michael English is an ICON who has a Multi Dove Award winning, super successful career in Gospel, Christian Contemporary, pop, and smooth jazz style vocals. Michael can sing it all! And not just good, but THE BEST! Michael English has the experience of a lifetime of knowing the Gospel Music industry, it's people, and having been singing in it since he was but a boy. Michael English is most known for his Anointed, God given ability to really connect with his audience! Because of his Multi-octave coveted vocal range, his incredibly diversified vocal tones, the unbelievable ability he has for hitting every note right on the head, his sheer talent to sing runs and change up a song in a split second, AND that ability to sing every word as if each is a song with-in itself, (I still want to know HOW he does that!) captures his hearers immediately! And I'd bet these hearers, if asked, would say, once captured by Michael English's ability to reach them would NOT want to be let go! Michael English is the most talented, anointed vocalist ever! A big statement, I know. But if you listen, watch, and have an idea of what he really does with his voice naturally (if you can even think about such things while he's singing!?) then I know you would certainly agree! At times he's just a sweet country boy who might tweet or say things from the heart before thinking with his head. But again, that is what is so lovable about such an ICON! He shoots from the heart and does, some times, pay for that. But we hope that never changes. What some might not know is that Michael English is a hysterically funny man, sometimes showing his quick and sweet humor while singing solos, with a group, or all too rarely by making some RU-vid videos that are so funny! "MORE PLEASE?" I believe Michael English still doesn't realize how awesome a singer he really is! Either that or he's very humble, one can't tell. But he IS the BEST vocalist ever! Because of his diversity, musical genius, vocal range, on and on! I hardly believe anyone can really do Michael English justice with words. He's already known and revered by the entire industry. You will see this happen when he is required to sing with others, especially on the spot. Michael unknowingly takes center stage no matter who he is singing with. If you can look away at the others singing with him, you will see the reverence and respect other singers naturally have for him! And the coolest part of these dynamics is, you will never see Michael raise himself over ANYONE he is singing with! He's just so humble! It's a lot like watching Gene Kelly dancing. You end up watching Gene no matter who he is dancing with, yet, Gene doesn't cause this himself anymore than Michael English does, it just happens. Lastly, I believe as do millions of others, that Michael English is an ICONIC Singer along with Elvis Presley, Judy Garland and Michael Jackson, to name a few. And, as do millions of others, I deeply love this list of icons! Michael English easily fits into this Iconic list without my two cents. But I would like to add praise to The Lord that Michael English is still here! He walks daily with The Lord Jesus! He could have gone his own way, been a millionaire or anything he wanted to be, but Michael English is most respected by many for his humble walk with Jesus! I think he'd be the first one to tell you, it's by His (Jesus') Grace that Michael still stands! Amen Mr. English! We look forward to many, many years to come whereby you continue to bless others with your incredible voice, your empty vessel which flows with the Lord every time you sing and freely give your testimony! +Ryan Comstock God will not be mocked, and we will be held accountable, but that was 20 years ago. We shouldn't be naive, but sometimes people can change, with God's help. I'm not proud of some choices I made 20 years ago, but God has forgiven me of that.

Since he came back to the Lord and to his music ministry, his brokenness has given way SUCH a POWERFUL anointing from the Holy Spirit!!! Now, there is such a divine healing power in his music and singing that just was not there before hand.

WOW!!!!! what happened to Michael English?????? one of my all time favorites and still is, I don't see a wrinkle on his face, does not look like the old Michael at all, major plastic surgery addiction but at least he did not go the way that Ray Boltz went. We still love you Ray and God is still there for you.
Pete M His voice is a lot different now as well. Technically, from a musicians standpoint I prefer his voice in the 90s and I loved all his songs back then so much...but there is something about his speaking voice and singing voice now that is undeniable...to me you can hear a lifetime of pain and stress. Looking and hearing him now is difficult in a sense. However he seems to have lost a lot of weight which is awesome as I saw some other videos where he had gained a lot of weight. This video made me really teary for some reason.
+nezkeys79 He was blessed with an amazing voice, but he wasn't trained and would "belt" or strain a lot of notes with tension in his throat. Many pop singers are guilty of this. Some can get away with it more than others. Years of doing that, and the admitted drug abuse, and age will do that to a voice. But I'm glad to see he is at a great point in his life. I saw him a few years ago in concert, and he was a drastically different Michael than he was in the 90's. I think he would admit that as well. He has a wonderful story of redemption to tell.
My original comment was about the way he sang this song here. I can't stand it when an artist "plays" with the melody so much that it doesn't even sound like the same song.
I know in ministry there's so much more than this, but I must say this...from a musical standpoint it's just weird to me because he is singing this in a much lower key than the original and he's improvising to make it higher at times, but sometimes a song is just different in another key. The good news is the message is the same. It's just hard to hear this in a different key. Awhile back (after repenting) he sang this from the depths of his soul here but in the same key. +randyjsing Its undeniable if one is objective- the lower key takes the punch out of the song. Michael's voice will never again be what it was and to hear him now is a warning that even though there is forgiveness for genuine repentance- consequences remain as a warning to others. In the 80s and 90s- Michael English vocally was a phenomenon- vocally today he is getting by on experience, lower keys and guile.
@@dmichael100, Michael's vocal struggles today have nothing to do with his past life, other than he didn't have the necessary classical training to preserve his voice as he got older. Age takes its toll on the best of vocalists, and Michael is no different.
