I love my native Hunsur, and it's people with lush green landscapes and temperate climate. Size of our Settlement & population reduction was major issues for a long time, but if we added extra camps to Hunsur first instead of big settlements like Mundgod or Bylakuppe would have definitely helped. Beauty of Hunsur is not known to the world. She shares a National Park and wild life just closeby. Many including me would love to retire there, but not sure if we dont take care of the precious air, land and water by cultivating ginger with so much poison sprayed on that'll pollute the air, land and ground water. I can forese immense suffering to everybody with illnesses in the near future due to some stupid selfish farmers. As our neighbors Kerela and Tamil Nadu banned the cultivation of ginger, we must do the same. See you again without poisons. Tashi Delek.
What our Tibetan settlements needs is more security cameras, more security patrols. I’m from Bylakuppe and I often see strange groups of Indian youngsters hanging around in their cars. They drink, smoke and wait for lone Tibetan girls to harass. This is not racism, this is the ground reality. Many Tibetan girls in our settlements don’t feel safe but don’t raise the issue in fear of being called racist.
