On September 24, 2017, 22-year-old Côte Saint-Luc resident Jesse Galganov left home for an eight-month backpacking trip through South America and Southeast Asia. He was last seen on October 1, 2017 in the Cordillera Blanca Mountains of Northern Peru, in Huascarán National Park. His mom, Alisa Clamen, has led the search with the help of international search and rescue teams. In her conversation with Mayor Mitchell Brownstein, Alisa Clamen explains what she has learned and her hope for finding Jesse.

I feel for your loss, but, Peru receives millions of tourists every year that go to the cities or to visit ancient ruins, hiking the Andes Mountains is another thing altogether, dangerous, its no joke. Informality is also very common in Peru, so i'm not surprised about that part, local Andean, high-altitude peasants are the worst. They prey on tourists and its not getting any better.

I'm sorry... your son has pass. He fell off a mountain after becoming disoriented. He's with you... just talk to him. No pain, he's fine.

So he was going to study to be a doctor but ignored all the warnings and later signs of mountain sickness HIMSELF and against all the contrary of better knowledge he went on this hike on his own and without preparing himself. Sound like a careless doctor to be? Allegations that someone had robbed Jesse and hid his body are simply ridiculous after all this hike did not happen in USA where that could have easily happen. More likely he got dizzy and weak lost his sense of direction got lost and fell into some deep gorge there and got eaten by animals.
