Anyone who lies about their education as a means to sell their platform can't be trusted with anything. There's a reason why everyone who has delt with Hoskinson on a personal level calls him a sociopath.
Charles is probably one of the greatest thinkers of out times. But that will possibly emerge when he gets older. He is also very ambitious and sometimes underestimates how much time things take... as all entrepreneurs I know 😅
A guy who fabricated his education credentials along with being booted out of everything he's touched due to his lack of any computer knowledge is not a great thinker.
He's definitely one of the greatest thinkers within the blockchain space - especially because he has a talent for taking a step back and looking at the larger picture. But he's _definitely_ not one of the greatest thinkers of our time, not because he's not very intelligent and well read, but because there's a whole host of incredibly briliant people out there. Just some nuance that I think is necessary because (part of) the Cardano community does have a tendency to make him into a hero on all fronts - which creates a strong tension with his often all too human behaviour, that many people cannot comprehend so they take a 180º and start yelling 'scammer'.
Charles is one of the most important voices in crypto, and one of the most brilliant visionaries in any industry. So proud to have been a part of the Cardano ecosystem for over 6 years now! Thank you for the amazing gift to humanity, and make sure anyone who understands the real value of ADA, tell your friends!!
@@JuanDavidAristizabal CBDC are gonna be backed up by Bitcoin. Only few gonna buy bitcoin, average person will use CBDC , cause people don’t like responsibility. They are happy for banks to hold their money . Anyway you will see everything in 10 years time
@@Huskster thanks for explaining Solana (I forgive you for the typo with ADA). Got it and copied. I’ll buy Bitcoin, Eth, Cardano, Dot and few other coins but never Solana. I’m generally away from “VC backed Centralized Hyped coins”. The brutal fact is most of the FTT and Luna VCs are the owner of 90% of Solana tokens. Thanks for opening my eye even though it’s such widespread fact already.
My faith in the potential of humanity has been restored. In my 3/4 of a century on earth no one has had such a profound impact on me. Charles's depth and breadth of knowledge and insights, and his astonishing common-sense left me awestruck.
I think it's great how cardano approaches building. I have more faith in a project with a vision that has continuous and controlled progress than a classic pump and dump game of some other projects.
This guy is a god. Im knowledgeable but Charles has 5 brains mixed in 1, when I listen to him I feel dumb but in a good way, he makes me feel that I am in the presence of a huge human being that has the power to change the world. Lets go Charles, Lets go Cardano, Lets change the world into a better one ! Thanks for this convo Guy !
All good salesman will make you feel like that. In reality Hoskinson is clueless but good at throwing out techno babble to impress you. He has no formal computer education, little to no computer background, and did no coding on Ethereum or Bitshares before he was booted from the projects. His only jobs were marketing.

Huskster says Charles didn't do any coding at Ethereum, but fails to mention that Charles actually served as CEO of Ethereum, before leaving (no one knows for sure if Charles left, or was kicked out).
Charles Hoskinson should be the Ambassador of crypto he should have a role in setting all the regulations and rules for crypto even in tough situations I think he would take the unbiased opinion and do the right thing. Is he is not only Founders / co-founder if one but two of the biggest in the industry in the one and only that when he talks it don't seem that he's trying pump his coin and make the price go up he generally does it for the sake of good a breath of fresh air for humanity
This was a great interview and as always Charles came accross as intelligent, well informed and probably one of the most articulate people I have ever listened to. I also love the non-partisan approch to crypto in general and how we need to be working together to combat the threat from CBDCs and unfriendly governments. Most of the things he says I agree with but I just wish there was a little more urgency in the adoption of the project with meaningful partnerships. Charles is a very smart man but I fee that these interviews never ask any of the hard questions or challenge him about any of the critisisms in relation to Cardano. The project is not perfect and there are ligitimate concerns. All too many interviews with Charles are like a Sunday morning chat over coffee and never really test him. Not sure if anyone has seen a program in the UK called HardTalk but it really asks the hard questions during interviews and is often uncomfortable to watch. I would love to see Charles be put in this position not because I don't think he could handle it but because I think we would get the best out of him.
Lies about his education credentials, lies about being Satoshi, lies about jumping out helicopters in Afghanistan, lies about the origins of Cardano, refuses to disclose his personal holdings or sales of ADA. Yeah, he's a real genius.

Looks like Charles is the only person in the bigger crypto stage to embrace and promote to work in collaboration with other chains to make real progress in the wider crypto space. Big kudos to you for this Charles and we assure to be with you on this long and exciting journey!🎉

@@Huskster obviously you commenting on every comment about this interview means 1 of 2 things: you are trying to protect your bags of a competing project, or, you took a huge L last cycle and bitterness permeates your being. That is some serious dedication though to do that. Maybe you are doing it to lose weight? Not sure how many calories you burn on the keyboard, but if it works keep it up. Just curious, have you kept track of all the people you converted with your comments?

I remember this twitter space. It was indeed a great interview. I was surprised by Charles' mention of NIPoPoWs and Ergo, RnD goes a long way and Ergo and Cardano do it right.
Really amazing concepts in Cardano tbh ... amazing utilities !! .. but unfortunately, ADA is dealing with lobbies, haters and people just talking about prices - not the actual utility.

Cardano couldn't have a better ambassador. Charles is brilliant and he really believes in the $ada ecosystem. He is one of the few crypto founders I respect.
Cardano has so much potential. I had thought Charles was a bad player in the space and Cardano was just a scam but I took a lot of time to look into it’s development and to listen to Charles speak and I was so very wrong. My hope is that others will take some time and look for themselves and if their beliefs don’t match the evidence before them, their beliefs change.
Charles sounds like an alien 😂 I swear only in crypto can you be involved for years and research it constantly - and still feel like a complete idiot when someone like Charles or Vitalik speaks
If Charles made a pact with himself to never again address the negativity and and accusations as well as judgements on his character and remain absolutely positive in all his public statements, he would win all the time.
You know , no matter how much cardano is used. I’ve always liked Charles a lot ! He may have made a mistake by building on Haskell. But he’s a great guy in my opinion
The decision to use Haskell makes sense once you consider some of Cardano's lofty design goals: 1. The use of eUTxO is why Solana will never be as fast as Cardano ends up being, because eUTxO is parallelizable all the way down to individual transaction inputs. 2. The use of pure functions to process eUTxO transactions is why Cardano transactions are fully deterministic, and why transaction pricing can be fully deterministic too. 3. The use of pure functions to process eUTxO transactions is yet another reason why Cardano will be the fastest L1, because only pure functions are completely parallelizable. 4. The use of functional programming for the network nodes is why Cardano is so reliable, and has never gone down! 5. The use of formal methods and peer review to prove the desirable properties of the consensus algorithm, and property based testing to give high confidence in the implementation of that formally proved system is why Cardano is the most secure PoS blockchain in existence. 6. The creation of the hard-fork combinator (HFC) is why Cardano can be fully reliable even across hard-fork boundaries, which when combined with the distributed nature of blockchains are notoriously difficult to deal with. As this applies to language choice: 1. There are less than ten production-grade, functional programming languages in existence. 2. Only about five of those languages have the fully sound type systems you need to give you high confidence in the software being written. 3. Only two of those languages (Haskell and Scala) have a type system powerful enough to type the hard-fork combinator. 4. Only Haskell has the tooling support to give high assurance of software written to conform with a formally proved specification. 5. None of these languages is yet powerful enough to perform the formal proofs in it directly, but Haskell with be the first to support this, and other FP languages will be decades behind in being able to do the same. In this light, Haskell is the *only* sensible choice. As for the fact that Haskell is too niche to build a smart-contract developer community around, this has already been solved with Aiken, which compiles to the same Plutus Script target code that Haskell / Plutus compiles to, yet is really easy for FP noobs to pick up and a better developer experience than Solidity. BTW, the other eUTxO blockchain, Ergo, is coded in Scala, which based on the list above would have been the second best choice after Haskell.
