Aqua dolphin's ass is seriously perfect one. - It is not made of fat, but muscles which means it can be soft or hard depend on how much Aqua dolphin flexes. - Fits well with Aqua dolphin's buff body and makes him even more beautiful. - It isn't too round or too flat. It make ass grab an attention but not stand out in awkward way. - Looks great no matter on which side you look at it. It is a shame english dub nerfed it. True reason to watch GX with subtitles.
One reason why Yubel is so important is that they represent a narrative obstacle that can’t be overcome with brute force- and that REALLY fits the “coming of age” theme that GX stands for. Yubel represents genuine darkness and twistedness- and we all have to learn as we mature that we can’t just overcome that by punching it in the face. It’s only by owning, confronting, and resolving that darkness that we can grow as people- and that’s one of the key themes of GX Season 3.
Yubel wanting to get attacked feels more like a result of her intended function of guarding a soul forever. Her effect to force opponents to attack feels more of a result of her being twisted, however.
In terms of season 4, I think it's pretty clear that Judai and Yubel's relationship is not like Yugi and Atem. Judai and Yubel pretty much exists as one being rather than 2 distinct souls. It is also why we see such a great shift in Judai's personality which has become much similar to Yubel (ex. threatening Banner even if for comedic effect, using Atticus even if it would have caused him harm in the long run, etc.). What I like about their relationship in S4 is that Judai remains independent. We know it's him dueling and using his own skill. Even when Yubel appears in his duel it is only for moral support, mocking/teasing him, or to encourage him to find his way out of a tough spot.
I honestly feel like Yubel appearing at all to talk to him in S4 was a mistake. They should have just been one being that just looked like Judai but acted much differently, which is what they went for most of the time. Just feel like they should have gone all in on that concept.
@@NiGHTSnoob When two people live in the same head, they kinda act as both. Usually all act in unison, but the other personalities can either assert themselves and take over or talk to the "pilot" depending on their relationship or what the situation calls for. That's usually in Disassociative Identity Disorder. In Judai's case, where it is literally two people fusing rather than one person shattered into many (yes really, that's what DID is) the fact that they're able to act as one at all is pretty impressive. And I imagine if Judai got into a street fight Yubel would switch in due to them having actual combat experience.
Yeah it's a good thing to point out that Yubel doesn't help Juudai duel since Yugi and Atem would often basically duel together, basically getting the advantage of two expert duelists convening a strategy together which is a giant advantage.
Yubel's reasoning and the way they expressed their "love" is actually pretty realistic. People often reciprocate love from how they experienced it, and that's why some would stay in abusive relationships even though they know it because that's the type they had growing up.
Another fun fact with Yubel/Flame Wingman being Judai's favorite card, their card effects are also a bit similar. They both do damage based on an opponent's monster's attack points.
Given the similar design and the dependence on opposing ATK for maximum utility, I wonder if there's something you could read into with Destiny HERO Plasma as well...
Except With enough Support Flame Wingman could actually win Games somewhat consistently through OTKs while Yubel is pretty bad outside of Duel Links Which is sad cause i really Like Yubel
I wish season 4 delved more into the ramifications of Jaden’s friends finding out Yubel is a part of him. None of them could have been cool with that given everything Yubel put them through.
When Honest attacked everyone Jaden summoned Neos for real to protect everyone and when Honest asked about Jaden straight blabbed that he and Yubel are one now. There was the initial shock but it was never brought up again
I wish we got a series about the adventures of judai after gx. Basically an amazing duelist who'd fight criminals with superpowers from yubel and supreme king

I hate them, the moment that they were present in the story. People talk shit about Satoshi/Ash´s mother but at least she was present or watch his major battles. Judai/Jaden´s parent not only did bad things but complete disapear from his life.
Two Thoughts 1. I’m pretty sure Yubel is asleep during most of S4 and then wakes up during Darkness’ duel with Judai. In his duel against Trueman (the one with Five Headed Dragon) he says “I can’t afford to lose now. For the sake of those who sleep in my soul as well.” Key word there being “sleep”. Plus once Yubel comes out the first time, they’re pretty chatty and come out quite a bit in those last few episodes plus BBT. Which makes me think that beforehand they probably couldn’t come out rather than chose not to. 2. When Yubel says that they’re both Yubel and Johan, I don’t think they were completely lying. Yubel then says right after that “this body desires to fight you”. Yubel controls people using the darkness in their heart. And Fujiwara reveals in S4 that the darkness in Johan’s heart is a desire to settle things in a duel with Judai. I thought it was really cool when I rewatched GX that Judai calls Yubel out for lying but they might have actually not been if we take Fujiwara’s words into account.

That's a great interpretation, but I'm not buying it. Judai didn't take over Yubel or vice versa in this case, but fused. Their souls melded to become one in body and mind. Not a case of split personality. This was portrayed very well in Judai's conduct after the fusion. With the more grim attitude and the fact he would distance himself from everyone. Yubel popping out to talk, was in my opinion, a mistake. The writer probably caved to the editor's demands since the whole idea of them "blending" in this way would be too confusing for most viewers. It instead ran counter to what was previously established, creating more confusion.
I like to imagine Yubel was so overprotective because jaden was killed by someone the two trusted in his past life later on and they didn't want to make the same mistake twice.
Human Yubel had no canon gender in the original guys, there's no "But they WERE a woman" like it literally says that nowhere at all. And btw if human Yubel did have a boy/girl gender not only are their eyes and hair the same colour as the male side of demon Yubel, they also refer to themselves in masculine speech. I didn't think I'd have to say that in the video but go back and check the original if you don't believe me.

I feel the need to point out the satanic themes with yubel. Satan has often been referred to as being androgynous and possessing Male and female characteristics. This is present in yubel with the single breast and the pectoral. I can see how people see them as more feminine but. No.

I'm going to say this since I always believed it.. yubel is a woman and what you are hearing ..the male voice.. is part of the dragon armor infused with her. Wanna know why? The voice actor is a woman an iconic voice actor at that. The surgery alone is proof of that and what the king said before said surgery operation.. you will lose your beautiful body. I love when you go deep into GX, because it just makes me think "I'm not the only crazy GX obsessed person!" This was the whole reason I loved Yubel soooo much. They were a villain born out of pain and heartbreak, and just wanted to be loved by the one person they loved the most. I also agree that there should've been a bit more in the way of past life stuff, but I'm glad we at least got what we did. I liked seeing Judai realize that they had both been complete idiots, and needed to grow as individuals. I mean, killing lots of people is a pretty bad move, I must say. Love Yubel, and season 4 Judai is kick ass.

I really love how Yubel encouraged and warned Judai when Judai duels Yugi. Those last episodes really led me to make comparisons about Judai and Yubel's relationship with Yugi and Atem's.

Yubel seems to me to be a symbol of the repression of part of one's self and how that destroys the ones close to you. Judai fusing with her is him learning to accept that part of himself
I hated Yubel solely for making Winged Kuriboh a secondary Spirit Partner even though the latter has less relevance to the anime. What baffles me is Neos Wisemen was a Fusion in the show but a Nomi monster IRL. Sure Neos Kluger was made, but the damage was done.

yubel was a very interesting concept as a vilain, but that flashback scene and the execution of the fusion was definetly writen in a way that left a lot to be desired

Is it possible that Yubel was inspired by Ryu from Devilman because there are so many similarities between the two characters. A reincarnated androgynous / hermaphrodite monster with a half-angel half-demon aesthetic who is in love with another reincarnated demon person (Judai Jaden Yuki). So in love with them, that they are willing to kill anybody who looks at their incarnated boyfriend

I think Yubel represents the primary arc of Judai's character. He starts off the series feeling that "Children's Card Games are for Fun!" and deals with it a bit in Season 1, a good amount in Season 2, and shatters in Season 3 when he realizes "these card games aren't just for fun." I think that's why he spends so much of Season 4 in a PTSD retreat because he's too incomprehensible for him to duel for fun anymore. They help arrange the match with past Yugi (w/ Egyptian Gods), and after a turn where he gets his field wrecked by Yugi, they just both break down laughing, talking how fun it is to play with another powerful player. He's able to admit that part of growing up is to recognize that there are serious moments where death is on the line...but life is about being able to have fun too. To the point where Atem comes out to have fun too, and chucks Osiris/Slifer at Judai just to prove the point. Only then is he able to use his playful post-duel catchphrase again. Everything past the first season of GX is real good.
Yubel holds a special place in my heart, being THE antagonist in season 3 who acually did some serious longlasting shit and, like Marik, acually had a good reason to do so. Not to mention being nonbinary, which is just amazing to see in your favorite anime!
I would like a video about him from this channel because he has an amazing, heartbreaking story leading up to wonderful character development. And he is pure awesomeness with Infernities and being the "death god".
I agree with you 100%, he is my all time favorite character of any show because of his amazing development. People can tell me Yu-Gi-Oh! 5Ds is just a stupid show for little kids about card games all they want, I'll just point them to Kalin's arc.
Yuri is pretty much the Kiryu of Arc-V. Sure, he has no arc or real development, but with how much he overshadows the main villains in intimidation, personal impact and in duel record (might not've beaten Yuya, but he certainly did beat plenty of _other_ near-protagonists along the way), he greatly overshadows them in just how much more fun to watch he is.
I've personally been busy with my cousin who is getting into Yu-Gi-Oh!, and thus haven't been able to watch Arc-V yet(she's just finishing up GX at the moment, and gets annoyed if I go further ahead of her than I already am series-wise), but this sounds interesting. Maybe someday I'll come back to this reply and be able to tell you you were right lol. But this is interesting to hear, and it makes me excited for when I finally get to that point. Villains who can just use intimidation are fun to watch indeed.
I wish they gave Yubel an archtype that combined yubel with creatures in jadens deck more then just neos wisemn. I would have loved seeing a yubel fusion of all 6 attributes.

Honestly when they fused that became one of my favorite anime scenes of all time. Also must be noted I am Italian so I watched gx in Italian and not gonna lie it was so much better than the english version!
One thing that I thought about the whole Yubel/Jaden redemption is that the gentle darkness wasn't super gentle, revealing itself in a harsher form as the Supreme King, being the perfectly crafted counter to Yubel's light of destruction. I imagine that it was planned by Yubel so that they would be locked in eternal combat with the Supreme King, which was what Yubel had thought of Jaden's purest form of love was. Then, when Jaden rejects the Supreme King, he would never be able to stand up to Yubel, so instead he offers Yubel the choice of denying the light of destruction by fusing, and so they both become one, with the light of destruction and the gentle darkness balancing each other out, to create the perfect sort of ying yang harmony, which could be one of the reasons why s4 Jaden is always lazing around, even more so than before. He definitely seems more at peace and whole, and I believe that is in no small part due to Yubel.

Honestly the world of yu-gi-oh is so dark and full of so many truths. For starters is probably seto. He is the must insane character I have seen. He has both intelligent and cunning. And is such a tragic story. Someone who wanted to be different then his father but becomes even more corrupted then him even maybe. He turns a card game into a art of war. Training the youth to fight in a facility designed on fighting monsters. He's teaching the young to be warriors and to be capable of fighting what will come ahead as he and his company drill deeper to find even stronger and more valued monsters. Could be wrong and love to hear your criticisms, just have actual things to counter my argument.
Yubel was like the dark reflection of of the Dark Magician and Dark Magician Girl. Loyal spirits out to protect their charge for all time but Yubel was twisted into something destructive.
yubel-jaden and kisara-seto parallels are so interesting too. since seto is a villain he gets a peaceful heroic spirit and since jaden is a hero he gets a villainous spirit. but theyre still so very similar in everything else.
Ok, time to talk about everyone's favorite topic on the internet: abuse. Yubel checks most of the boxes found in a abusive person. Isolates their target from their other friends and family, costantly twist every sign of pain and discomfort from said target as positive reactions, acting shocked and hurt when said target doesn't see it that way, etc. The fact that you even used the classic" well it make since given the environment they wer in" argument just makes the parallels more unsettling. Now I'm no stranger to stories like yubel and Jayden'a ending with them together, but what makes this worse to me is the fact that unlike those other stories, gx clearly understands how terrible of person yubel was doing everything she did.
Fantastic video! You did Yubel amazing justice. I've honestly grown to like Yubel as I've re-examined the series and charaxters. They're a complex, tragic character and imho the best YGO antagonist. I just wish the dub didn't butcher their character. Also, kind of a headcanon of mine but I always interpreted Yubel's agonizing pain in space to have been the Light of Destruction the entire time. Where's the Neo-Spaciens were exposed to the Gentle Darkness in space, Yubel was unlucky enough to be exposed to the Light of Destruction. Makes more sense to me then JUST being in space causing them agony. Slowly whittling down their sanity until the Light was able to manipulate them to associate pain as an expression of love. Of course this is just my interpretation and could probably be easily contradicted in canon ahaha

Yubel's previous actions still makes me sick to this day. I'd be real pissed if I was a friend of Jaden's when finding out that Yubel and Jaden are now one.
Another thing I think makes the past life reveal feel so out of nowhere is that there is hints early on in season 3 at Judai being a reincarnation, with Johan's 'I feel like we've met somewhere before' line and Judai agreeing. So season 3 is implying Judai is a reincarnation, but with a connection to a totally different character, and then that line with Johan is never brought up again. And now there's that Pendulum card implying Johan is a reincarnation so maybe they did know each other?
Yubel is by far the best antagonist in GX. Their story, their motivation, the outcome. It all made it much more obvious that Darkness felt short as the final antagonist of the series (what's with the wasted potential with YGO villains? Bakura, Darkness...). Their character helped Judai grow even more, even if all that shit led to him being depressed in S4. I just wanted to say that I love your GX videos, please don't stop making GX videos because they give life to the fans of a series that ended 12 years ago thank you. Another point in Yubel’s favor is that they dueled a lot and had a pretty solid record, scoring a number of solid wins and never actually lost to Judai in a proper duel. Their only actual loss was when Jesse self-destructed to take them down with him. Also unlike Darkness/Nightshroud later they do this without any major cheats or absurd abilities. Which made both of Judai’s duels with them very intense.
Honestly, thank you so much for this? I really liked Yubel as a concept and unfortunately only had access to the dub at the height of my GX Fandom so I only ever saw bits and pieces. My time in the fandom was really negative thanks to some much older fans on FFN and they were all really super angry about anything that wasn't 100% canon to the show. There was one person in particular that really soured the fandom for me and they were a super harsh defender of Yubel and more or less flamed anyone that wrote anything but soul(and spirit)shipping which became massive NOTPs for me because of that. I knew in my heart that I was letting my negative experience with the fandom cloud my judgement and I didn't really know Yubel myself haha. I was one of the people who thought Yubel's actions and the fusing together thing was really manipulative and not great but this video really shone a light on how it wasn't that. I also appreciated how you admitted that certain parts could've been written better and gave suggestions on how you could've improved it (ie better foreshadowing). I also went "ohhh, duh" when you brought up why Yubel may have done the things they did even before the Duel Monsters... IN SPAAAAAACE things. Hopefully when I can rewatch GX (FOR REAL AND NOT WITH BOOTLEG SUBS LMAO), I can truly appreciate season 3 and Yubel's character without such a negative bias. Yubel was always my favorite and I loved their design but the story behind yubel could have been explained a little better in the story tho, but the motivations yubel had for what they did isn't to farfetched when you take a deeper look at everything they been through. I mean look at what happens when people can not socialise in extreme cases they break mentally and yubel was basically being tortured on top of that it's no wonder they willingly accepted the light of destructions words because no one wants to believe that the person you love would hurt you without reason.
pfff.. it's only effective if the monster is reverse with it's effect. It also didn't last very long and this was... before stardust crusaders were remade.
I recently re-watched GX Season 3. The Kaiba Corp Experiment was to see if they could strengthen cards by exposing them to Outer Space. Neos absorbed the Darkness and Yubel absorbed the Light.

True but she isn't the first yandere though. That title gors to Yukako Yamagishi from Jojo's Bizarre Adventure part 4. Granted, Yubel is one of the most powerful yanderes and even more powerful than the overrated Yuno Gasai
I know this video it's kinda old but recently watched the whole series in Japanese for the first time, but I think Judai has an opposite journey that of Yugi, Yugi had to teach the pharaoh to accept kindness and they end parting ways learning from each other, while Judai has to accept the supreme king's power and that he cannot expect to help his friends just with good actions (like Misawa tells him before he battles possessed Johan) and at the end he merges with Yubel embracing each other and accepting that his dark side can also be used for good. I think it's a cool opposite way of mirroring Yugi's story in a way
I remember when I was kid and final dub episode on gx ended I waited every week to see next episode until I was like I just give up Jaden gone. 7 years later I finally watch sub and I see that judai never died. 4kids messed up making me believe Jaden died lol.

The thing that makes that even more sloppy on their part is that the Bonds Beyond Time movie is dubbed with Jaden alive and well. So the dub ending literally makes no sense. And not just because of skipping season 4, but also skipping the very last episode of season 3 where Jaden comes back at the end.
not only does flame wingman look similar to yubel, the monster's effect is similar to yubel's: dealing damage to the opponent based on the atk of the monsters it battles. a watered down version of the effect.
I feel like johan would be a little uncomfortable with yubel at first cause well yeah the whole possession thing but johan being kind and knowing judai and being merged with yubelhe would come to understand them and start to form a friendship or they would at least get closure and apologize to each other so they could both still be there for judai and be his friend and be more comfortable with each other
Yubel is fantastic. I know they’re meant to be this super twisted Yandere who we aren’t supposed to know whether we like them or not, but Cassandra Lee Morris’s monologue about Yubel and Jaden teaming up to save the world from chaos is one of the most tear-jerking things I’ve ever seen

I've got this video from youtube recommendations about a month ago, while I was watching Gx. Tried watching it 'cause I remembered some things from when I first watched on tv. I only knew the third season, and I loved everything I remembered. Seeing this video made me realize I was not the only one who liked it, and gave me the will to keep watching. Now I've just finished the anime, and this video made me like it even more. Really didn't want to write a text this long but ok. The more you keep talking about GX, the more you make me want to check it out for myself. I originally skipped this show back in the day, since the premise didn't appeal to me. But it seems this show has a lot more depth than just being a high school anime with card games.
