In Defense of Cinderella

Cinderella didn't really "need" Prince Charming he was just a bonus. Meanwhile, Elsa told Hans to go and take care of Anna while she tried to go and escape lol.

They are not weak, they are kind and innocent. I love Esmeralda, Moana, Kida, Meg and Pocahontas? Yes. But i also LOVE Snow White and Cinderella, they are not weak, they are lovely strong princesses. #ilovecinderellaandsnowwhite

Honestly I kind of see Cinderella as a role model for bully/abusive victims. A lot of people who are bullied and/or abused end up repeating the cycle. Taking out their anger and hurt on others but Cinderella doesn't do that. She remains kind, polite, and generous to everyone despite the mistreatment she suffers. She doesn't hurt other people and then use her abuse as an excuse. Not to say that it isn't understandable that someone would act hateful because of abuse and/or bullying but just because something is understandable doesn't make it right. And in a way Cinderella and her stepsisters kind of represent the different ways abuse victims behave because of it. I know the stepsisters are treated better than Cinderella by their mother but they are abused as well. Their mother is merely using them as a way to elevate her status and she makes them believe that no one could love them if they're not beautiful or talented or rich enough. This more evident in the sequels than the first movie but there are some hints. So all three are abused just in different ways. But while Anastasia and Drizella let the pain they feel basically influence their choices and behavior which results in them lashing out and being cruel to their innocent stepsister who did them no wrong, Cinderella tries to rise above her pain. Not to let it define what kind of person she is. She doesn't let her suffering cause her to become the very thing that made her suffer in the first place. A cruel person who takes their own negative feelings out on innocents. In my opinion, if you can go through abuse and/or bullying and remain a good person without taking your pain out on others then you are probably one of the strongest people alive.

Y E S This!!! Cinderella is the best, hands down.

I hate that the only way a female characters can be empower, is when she knows how to fight and is more masculine then feminine. I have no problem with a female character that knows how to fight,but saying that the only way a female can strong only if she gives up being feminine is stupid. Also, it makes me sad to think that people forget about the already empowering female characters we have for example, barbie is a empowering cartoon character for both boys and girls.

I loved all the movies (1950 animated, Cinderella 2, Cinderella 3, 2015 live- action version). I always wanted to meet Cinderella in Disneyland, and my dream finally came true in May 2019. That was one of the best moments of my life that I cannot forget😊

Cinderella never mentioned about wanting a boy throughout most of her film. It only came across her mind when she actually met the prince, she just wanted to be happy and be free from her abuse, theres a fine line between happiness and finding love. That would reign true over Snow White, Aurora, with their songs about finding true love, and maybe Ariel to some extent once she ‘saw’ not ‘met’ Eric.

Cinderella is a character I look up to because I lived in an abusive household after my dad die (for a year in a seriously abuse foster home) but as a 12 year old child who's just witnessed her dad die and had to stay strong because none of her siblings can, I wish I could have been even half as strong as her I had to little cry and beg on my hands and knees to be able to escape and I'm still suffering with the scars left behind even 10 years later.

Cinderella is a good rolemodel beacuse despite everything that has happend to her she is still nice to everyone and that earn her the friendship of the mice and the birds
