And yes OTOGI FROMSOFT on Xbox is great game for the time being japanese based and only on Xbox in 2002 it's backwards compatible and I also loved it much because you could go back and replay stages stronger and actually defeat both bosses instead of 1 before it pushing off.

@@TurquazCannabiz yeah really, you ever run into the wandering hordes by accident at night when you’re unprepared… can’t image playing on the hardest difficulty, I’d be too scared to play lol
The gameplay look for this game was so much fun. Riding at night paranoid about gas, dodging hordes, traveling from settlement to settlement was exhilarating.
It’s amazing if you’re riding at night or during the day looking for supplies, gas or whatever that you can be ambushed by a hunter group or wolves. the world is always feels alive and I appreciate that sense of urgency to get to safe place instead of staying out on the road in the open. Love the immersion and Mechanics. resources.
@@DenariusHaveNariusI stumbled across this game on steam not knowing anything about it...I started looking online after I beat it and was shocked that it had so many negative reviews because I thought it was amazing! It must have really been a buggy mess at launch...Thats why I almost always wait to buy games until they are fully patched...The only game I have bought on launch in the last couple years was Jedi Survivor and it was a complete disaster!
@@brucepreston3927 I do the same. I wait until the games have been out a while to make sure there are no game-breaking bugs. My exception was Armored Core. Elden Ring was so fun I bought Armored Core just to support the developer/publisher.
This game had the best feeling of progression for me since Far Cry 3. Going from feeling small, weak and vulnerable in a large world in the beginning to feeling like a complete badass by the end.
Days Gone was phenomenal for me. It is so underrated. It was one of the only games that I never used fast travel once. The world was always tense, playing on the hardest difficulty definitely added to this. The story was amazing and that secret ending left us with such a cliff hanger that I hope one day we get a sequel.
Prey 2017 is criminally underrated even still to this day. Anyone who enjoyed Bioshock or Dishonoured, half life 2, just NEEDS to play through it. One of the best bait and switches in gaming as well
It’s sooooo good. The art style is nice, the music is god tier, the story has plenty of great beats and the gameplay variety is pretty high if you’re open to experimenting with the powers and weapons.
This is one of my fav all time games. I’ve played it twice every year since it came out. Ya the first half isn’t the best, but it sets up the end game content and it pays off SO well. And I actually love the story too.
I agree. Brilliant game. I'm thinking of playing it again on my ps5 but on the hardest setting. Have you played on the hardest setting? I've heard it's the best way to play it.
@@geminisundone i have multiple times, I actually wish their was an even harder setting as I’ve played it that many times. Nothing beats that feeling first time through when its all unfamiliar and deadly.
Finding out there was a sequel planned and then cancelled, broke my heart. This game wasn't a masterpiece, but still had me hooked. Between the motorcycle and horde mechanics and the performances I was hooked. This universe still has a lot of stories to be told. Especially after the ending reveal. But yeah, they're zombies, not freakers lmao
I waited almost a year after release to play because of the horror stories. I actually really really liked it, the story was kinda weird timeline wise though. The gameplay really clicked with me tho i guess because i played it like a crackhead til finish.
I played this game on PC toward the end of last year, and it's one of the best open world and best zombie games I've played. The story doesn't try and reinvent the wheel, just focuses on good writing and great characters and it's awesome.
I just finished Days Gone a couple days ago, the game is awesome, the scientist reveal at the end was so mind blowing that it left me thinking for few days about it. Wish there was ever a sequel
The game actually made a profit, just not big enough of a profit that Sony was expecting. The Developer wanted to do a sequel, but Sony said "No." I personally would love a sequel, but its not gonna happen. At least not anytime soon.
The game made enough profit to justify a sequel but Sony would not allow a sequel because they want a specific type of games that suit their investor portfolio. I hope some people understand what I am trying to say.
@@Hunterese123There are smaller hordes in Cascade that are pretty easy to take down , plus the freaker nests are good practice for the bigger hordes.

Loved this game. One of the best ever. Very immersive and the characters were real. And the pacing was perfect, I think the slow burn at the start is great because it gets you time to learn the world. The horde fights were the best boss fights ever. And that insane cliffhanger at the end post the epilogue… my jaw just dropped. Can’t remember when it’s ever done that when I’ve been playing a game. So sad they didn’t do a follow up.
@@YesNo-yl6ws It definitely is. I'll say this: I am someone who HATES open world games. I literally couldn't even finish Skyrim or Fallout 3/4. The only one I've played to 100%, is BotW, and that's only due to the nostalgia factor of Zelda. So when I say, Days Gone is the first open world to hook me in my seat until I beat the game? That is a statement worth something. (Also as to why I hate open worlds, I could give a essay on why. If you're interested I'll comment a TLDR version.)
@@SleepyStreak That does NOT mean it’s one of the best games ever buddy 😂 you just appealed to the story and setting more PERSONALLY compared to Skyrim and Fallout. Skyrim literally does EVERYTHING better as an open world game.
@@YesNo-yl6ws Definitely does not. Massive empty world and walking simulator much? Meh story, meh combat, shitty dragon fights. It's overhyped garbage that only got so popular because it has a big brand name behind it, and when it came out, there wasn't many good open worlds on the market. You're probably the same kind of player who harps on about how amazing OoT is and it's the "best zelda" just because it was a piece of revolutionary tech for it's time. And let's take note of "for it's time". It didn't age well. Lots of games CAN age well, and have. And Skyrim didn't. Days Gone has so far, and will continue to do so, as no other zombie games have even come close to mastering the genre like it has.
This is honestly one of my favorite open world games...The story was suprisingly strong and emotional, bike treversal was so fun, progression rewarding and the atmosphere of the world haunting! It definitely has issues, but nothing major that would really make it or break it for me.

yea seeing it as a gameplay-focused title for its genre is great, its story-wise for its direction. not every PS titles has to cater to story-driven linear titles.

One thing I love about Days Gone is that even on medium difficulty, you can still easily die. If you underestimate the enemies in it, you will be in trouble.
Days gone was one of the best games i ever played,i don't tend to finish most games because i lose interest but i finished this and was left wanting more, fantastic time.
What a coincidence. I just started the game last week and so far I‘m loving it. I actually don‘t mind not being able to take on hordes from the start, it makes it feel worth it to slowly build up your trust with the camps and gain new skills. And killing your first horde feels really rewarding.
I wanted to speedrun some of the horde weapons, could not do that. Loved fighting them, but so often I would en up finding an empty cave. Was pretty annoying to me but I understand
Exactly. I don't understand why the game gets so much hate, even here saying the first half sucks. I think the buildup and progression is just right. Only thing that could be said in my opinion is that it may wear out its welcome a bit. There were a handful of times I thought it was on the brink of ending and then a whole new area opened up. Not terrible, but pacing can lag towards the back end. All in all, best zombie game I've ever played
What I really like about killing hordes is that you can do it even with shit weapons (at least the smaller ones), if you are prepared and know what you're doing. I killed that train horde before I even got the quest to find Lisa.
I started replaying Days Gone just the other week and I've been having a great time after 4 years of not touching it. I loved it at release and I love it now. Majorly underrated game

Somehow I think the slow beginning is kind of genius in tandem with the story. You just run around, fetch, kill, hunt and explore, and almost forget there's anything else. So when the deeper story missions finally come around, they are able to hit much harder than what you'd expect them to do from just looking at the story on paper. The story is nothing special at all, but by delivering it so far down the road, in such contrast with how you've engaged with the game up until that point, I actually think it creates some beautiful moments. Makes you see and appreciate the small things, which otherwise would've been so forgettable as they usually are in generically told love stories. It's not the story but how they tell it that makes it pretty damn good in the end. The gameplay itself is phenomenal in its genre.
I loved the game and loved it even more for how long the story was. At the beginning the upgrades were meaningful and hard to get, I really like that too, it made me appreciate it more.
I bounced off Days Gone a year or two ago because it was a slow burn and I expected a bit too much too early on, but now knowing that going in, I've been playing it again and having a lot of fun slowly getting stronger and upgrading my bike piece by piece. If it only gets better from here, I might love this game by the end.
Just recently started playing it again. Definitely underated. Good story, and the hordes are intense. Hopefully they release a sequel would like too see where the story goes.

When you max out the hordes are the only thing that are a threat to you. You can literally walk into any marauder camp like the terminator and still not get killed.
Bro this game got me hooked from the beginning. The Idea of different camps and cultures surviving through the z apocalypse is just well done. Also excellent gameplay and story. I think people were too critical of open world games when It came out, but Man oh man this is one of the greatest.
It's a great game. So enjoyable from beginning to end. I didn't find the first half sluggish at all. Even just the sheer joy of riding around on the motorbike makes it worth playing...and there's so much more to love beyond that.
I got open world bored out but THIS game was something else. The atmosphere of Oregon is unmatched, it feels so different to other open world games. The gameplay is great too, I also loved the upgrade system on your bike! I'd love the see this in games with cars too. I wish there'd be a homebase to upgrade. I played it 2 times 100% through with all the additional mods. This game is on pc a 10/10 experience!
It was a big accomplishment to beat this game on survivor II difficulty. Gas and stamina ran out very quickly and hordes were very dangerous. Made the experience so much better
Honestly i really enjoyed this game, i don't remember it feeling sluggish at all, so much so that i 100% it and played it again on the hardest difficulty(which by the way, truly shows a game's flaws). It's a great game that definitely got slept on.
Played it on ps5 a year ago and was very pleasantly surprised just how good the game is. Personally I like the slow burn story at start. Easily now one of my all time favourites.
I really think the infected in this game are the most fleshed out of any other franchise. The detail they added is well above any other. The Freakers still need food and water. They have feeding grounds and will migrate from their den to water, then to a feeding ground. They also have a sleep cycle. As the player you use this information and that predictably to your advantage. Like not going out at night and avoiding migratory paths. At least until you can take out hoards. Then you know exactly where and when they will be.
I enjoyed it alot once the first patches came out. Sure writing couldve been better but i still had a ton of fun playing it regardless. Sony should still consider making sequel, the game would benefit a ton being on the new systems especially handling those massive hordes
I finally played it last year after dismissing it for so long and it was honestly one of the best game I've played in years. Really hoping it gains more popularity so that we can get a sequel. The story was great and I want to see it continue.
Sadly Sony said no. And the Devs said the reasoning is because it didn't sell well. And a large portion of people bought it on sale or played it on the subscription. We will most likely never get a days gone 2
Days gone is an amazing game. One of my all-time favorites. The story is good with characters you actually like and or hate. The world was built strategically to make mechanics play better. It was a beautiful world as well. The fact you could have so many freakers chasing you at once on screen without a crash was a technical marvel for the ps4. I still play it on pc today. They did something completely different than the norm. The sound team in that game did an epic job. the motorcycles sound visceral and feel great. All around fun world that can have you spend a long time in and not even realize it.
Absolutely love this game! I never played it at launch, I picked it up back in 2020 when I think it was free with PS plus, so I never experienced any of the performance issues. I am also probably one of the few who enjoyed the first half more than the second because I freak out whenever I encounter hordes.
I'm in the process of my first playthrough right now and I absolutely love it. I've not experienced any of the technical issues that you speak of & only have a few minor complaints about the gameplay. I'll definitely replay it in the future.
I know I'm way late to the game, but I finally pulled the trigger and grabbed it about a week ago. Having now completed the game and just about everything in it, I can say without question this is one of my favorite games I have EVER played. In my opinion it's one of the most satisfying zombie games. I'm sure when it first came out, it was blah, but now ? it's great. Full Disclaimer - It's my opinion that anything Sam Witwer touches, especially in gaming , is gold. Been a fan of his work since forever ago, before he did the Force Unleashed games and anything else. His voice acting especially is always so well done. Anyone who doesn't know who he is, he plays the main character, Deacon St. John, in Days Gone. Check out his history of voice acting. Guy is a legend. Great vid, excellent take on Days Gone, in it's current form.

Astrobot Rescue Mission for PSVR1 was a masterpiece that slipped under the radar. One of the best gaming experience of my life and was the only game I went out of my way to Platinum.
I really enjoyed it, played it shortly after release and it definitely had some technical issues, but those are pretty much all sorted out now. The PS5 patch that makes it a solid 60 fps really does wonders for it. Definitely worth playing.

A game that rewards your perseverance and investment, from the motorcycle to the characters and their relationships. And oh, man. Hordes are a truly fond memory. Games rarely get my heart going and my blood pumping the way a proper horde does in this game. The anxiety! So much fun
This is what I’ve always wanted in a post apocalyptic zombie action/rpg style game. It has systems and mechanics that other zombie games just don’t have - and while those systems/mechanics aren’t the best at times, it’s the frame work for what Day Gone 2 would have possibly mastered, if it ever came to pass. Playing on a hard difficulty left me feeling nervous at all times when I was out and about in the world - that made me prepare, sneak, plan my outings, which is what you’d actually do in a situation like this had you survived in real life. I felt a sense of relief when I got into the camps or Nero labs that I was actually safe - kinda cool to have some emotions for a game like that. The story was alright and lacked in some areas, but I was genuinely stoked for Deacon when he had “good” moments in the game. I played the game for free between God Of War: Ragnarok and Hogwarts Legacy and it filled the gap better than any “new” game could have. After playing Hogwarts for a little bit now… I kinda like Days Gone more content wise. Something about cruising on the zombie filled road and blasting them in the face that makes me more happy than casting spells (both great games, don’t hate me, I just have a preference 😅) Is the game perfect, absolutely not. But it was good at the perfect time for me and that counts for something. I’d give it a solid 8 with room for growth in a sequel.. too bad we won’t get that because I’d preorder it without hesitation. If you’re on the fence about this one, just get it!
days gone is fucking beautiful… some of its flaws are very apparent but my god the mission where boozer is suicidal had me bawling… deacon is a real one.. bro was ready to say fuck everything we goin out together
I kill counted this recently and I gotta say… it was such an underrated and completely awesome experience! Sam absolutely nailed the protagonist and the setting was perfectly nailed with tone and atmosphere. Loved exploring ever part of it… except when my but cheeks swapped places when clenching to escape the horde merely inches from eating my face! 😬
I finished entire story of the game and I was incredibly sad that there will be no sequel. Developers deserve a world of praise for how much content they packed into the game, how fun the gameplay is and how well optimized the game is currently.

Tiny nitpick, there are hordes you can encounter like 1 to 2 hours in, they aren't large, but atleast 50 zombies that all run at you while your gear is lackluster. It's enough to make you want to wait. You do not need to wait 10 hours.
You don't have to grind to find hordes, you can go looking for caves from in-game day one. You just don't get a mission assignment early that happens in their vicinity.
They should pacing it like GOW 3 or Mad Max, where first hour of game you are at your prime, then you got accident that you need to collect all your weapon and get in shape again. The fun first , and the story next.
I *LOVE* this message - good games are genuinely worth it, especially if they scratch one of your itches. It's like films - sometimes I just want to watch Con Air, and that's okay. Also, Days Gone was genuinely good. I played it really late, and enjoyed it. Great take Luke
I really viewed this game as a post-apocalypse Red Dead, with what felt like steel horses, and camps that were just little towns. The relationships were strong and the overall feel of the game was good once the jank was removed. The story is NOT flawless as I feel like an enemy at one point of the game seemingly comes out of nowhere to be an adversary, and it seemed like as quickly as he popped up he was dispatched. A very good game that I beat twice and given it was free for all PS5 owners, it’s a must-play since you have it in your library. A VERY strong 8.
Yeah played it maybe 5 or 6 times. Actually just played it again after not playing it for 2 years as I just got a new 77” tv and wanted to try it out. After alll this time I still jump when some random freakier attacks me . Or when I have a mission to complete and I’m like “I really don’t want to go into that dark freaking mine where the freaking horde is waiting for me “
I got this from Redbox at launch. After killing the first horde I checked the trophy to see that only 2% of players had it too. I knew that I was supposed to leave or die. But the devs did something special in crafting a great combat system from the start. I like stealth games so I wasn't bored during the first 10 hours loke many people claim.
A game that I truly believe is underrated is “Lollipop Chainsaw”. That game was so fun to play, the over the top jokes and the crazy gameplay. It’s just a really fun game. And the boss fights are the standout. Plus you get to play as cheerleader with a chainsaw and kill zombies.
One of my favorite underrated games is called "Second Sight". It was SOOO unique and cool but was overshadowed by a subpar similar game that got more press "Psyops: The mindgate Conspiracy". I would LOVE a remake of Second Sight one of these decades. Also, Xenogears is a CRIMINALLY underrated game. One of the most important games of all time in my eyes.
So I bought a PS4 at the beginning of 2020 specifically for Spider-man and this game. I started playing Days Gone immediately, but I only made it about 2 hours in before I just stopped playing, only to never finish it for another 3 years. About 5 months ago, I decided to give it another try, and ran it all the way through, and I’m addicted to it now. I’ve played it through 4 times consecutively and I don’t see any stopping in the near future. I love this game, and they need to make part 2.
Problem with Days Gone is, once it finally released after several delays, it was already 2 years and old and people had already moved on to other games. 🤷🏾♂️
I bought the game shortly after release on the PS4 and even playing through a good 10 hours without access to the bug fixes I still had a great time. A fun game to platinum and gets even better on survival difficulty, removing the ability to fast travel, no hud, having to be aware of your surroundings by actually listening to the environment and not relying on the mini map to show enemy location. The PS5 upgrade was a nice little bonus.
i have to admit this game is incredible i done it on survival. it was so satisfying i found the hordes deadly but fun once you get the heavy machine gun before you can by it the swarmers didnt stand a chance.
When Deacons friend relapsed & 💀 the camps Doctor! Then tracked him down & I 😢 when he said "they were going to laugh at him after they deal out there brand of justice back at camp"
5:42 yeah that's because you can't have the best guns at the beginning of the game to take down a horde. You need to understand that this game is not only about hordes - it's about lack of resources and you have to search, it's a part of surviving in a post-apocalyptic world. But not all of this is true - actually there are hordes at the beginning of the game and you can try to take them down. This game wouldn't be this good if you could just go in and kill 500+ freaks at the beginning of the game trust me. So I think Days Gone is just good at it's own way. Btw love it and crossed my fingers to see a sequel one day.
I think an issue some people don't bring up or think about is "open world game fatigue." So I played "Days Gone" and enjoyed it before I played 2015's "Dying Light" and I just couldn't get into Dying Light. Everything felt so tedious and derivative and I wound up uninstalling it. A while later after playing some titles from different genres I went back to give Dying Light another shot and wound up enjoying it as well. When you sink like several days worth of time doing the same tasks it gets repetitive and there's a good chance you'll get sick of it and want some change. Def think game reviewers should keep stuff like that in mind.
Days Gone is a underrated gem, such a fun game, the story was surprisingly deep, Deacon was a really well defined, likable character, the gameplay, riding around on your motorcycle, the horde mechanics, one of my personal favorite open world games of the last console generation.
Days Gone is really, really, really great. I played it straight for about 2 weeks in long bursts, and the driving, to the killing of them swarmers and the 3rd person combat was great. I love it.
Didn’t know the game existed. Got on my plus. Being a zombie post-apocalyptic gamer/movie watcher, this game was the most satisfying ever. Yes it was slow at the start but that’s real LIFE, but it was tense and terrifying having to ride out into the shits. Open world and not one track like the Last of Us. The intelligence of the infected being able to open doors and think not one track minded either. Completely underrated! I’ve already had 4 play throughs on my PS5. But like music there are are two kinds not matter the genre it is either a good song or a bad song. This is a good game. Need a sequel
I bought it day one, reviews were bad so I didn't play until 2 months after. From the very beginning till the end i wass hooked. Once finishing, I always said this is a cult classic, it just has something special
