In-depth Discussion and Demo: RotaryMek-12X Rubber Band Gun - Video 1 

The mechanism could probably be mounted a number of ways. I've always been partial to the hand-held mini-gun configuration, as operated by Governor Jessie Ventura in Predator. Governor Schwartzeneger of course also employs such a mini-gun in T2. Being in AK, I'd of course be interested in how Sarah Pain might employ such a weapon ;P

@predator98ify I'm not yet at the point of being able to commercially produce guns like this one but I'm hoping to get there in the next year or two. I am however starting commercial production of a different design very soon. Watch for a new video in the next few days.

I've uploaded a new video to show more clearly how the stablizing tethers work. The video description also provides more explanation. I can't paste a link here for some reason, but if you take a look at my channel you should spot it.

I decided to first do an instruction manual for people to build their own similar gun-the RotaryMek-10X. The manual is available on Amazon. I do hope to have kits for the 10X available at some point, but how soon I don't know.

I probably won't do a book on the 12X, but I do plan to "reverse- engineer" some CAD plans for it that I'll make available, but I've got a bunch of other competing projects at the moment.

How cool is that! This guy is obviously a genius. But, why would anyone put so much intelligent, scientific, elegant effort into making a fully automatic rubber band machine gun? Maybe if we could get all the armies to trade in their old machine guns for these....

Your firing mechanism is brilliant! I wonder if you could incorporate some kind of brake or stop into the trigger mechanism so that when the trigger is pulled the barrel is free to rotate but when it is released the brake halts the barrel?

@Rubbergunner I just reread my response above and see I spelled Sarah Palin as Sarah Pain. How ironic.

How did you prevent the firing pins from rotating freely once the rubberbands are fired? You said something about it in the video, but I couldn't see what you were talking about.

Have you made any progress on the DIY instruction manual for the 12x? I would buy it without blinking. I love the steampunk look of it with copper and brass...

try a rc helicopter clutch to limit rotation. in theory should work if you weaken the plastic part of the clutch(don't know wat its called) enough so that it engages at a lower rpm
