@art2464 Liam is an irish name. It's the shortform of "Wilhelm". Eg. the actor Liam Neeson (known for the movies Schindler's List, Nell, Rob Roy or Star Wars)
@DarthDaegor Good comment, pisses me off when someone can come and make a comment like that on this in extremo video, always some people who want to cause trouble, peace and love to my friends in Germany from the UK!
@dillonivik I don't think so, I'm an Irish speaker and if this is Irish then it is horribly corrupted and mispronounced, but then again I'm not completely fluent, so I can't understand what he's singing.
@magicrub54 You better think it over. You don't want to mess with us now, blieve me friend. And why do you think every German hate Poland? Nazism is nearly extinguished. Germany and Poland live in peace and friendship. Please, don't mess it up. Keep well.
RIP Yellow Pfeiffer =( His stage performance and outfit was always one of my favourite out of all musicians since i first saw this video, after seeing them in gothic. He was only 53 years old
As an Irish person i appreciate the cultural reach out with this song! A beautiful eulogy expressing a painful story greatful you took time to understand the language!

It's a man's name. The song is about a girl whose lover dies at sea; she goes out searching for him, crying his name, and meets with a ship's captain who tells her that he fell overboard. The chorus is 'Liam Liam, I will always be by your side/waiting for you, Liam, Liam, I love the sea, Liam, Liam, (etc.) I will be with you without delay'.
This version n drummer are 100x better than the current ones. They really declined just like society is declining in time. I guess art does imitate reality. Man i miss their original old songs like this and their original drummer.
I've been listening to this song and group since 2008 or 2009. I love these guys so much!!! Their music really gets to my Germanic Anglosaxon and Celtic soul!!!
This song reminds me of the famous REM song "Losing My Religion". Mainly his stanza. 00:42 Dieser Song erinnert mich an den berühmten REM-Song „Losing My Religion“.

Yeah it's actually gaelic but it's just related to irish gaelic it's not the same. It's a celtic language and of course there are different types of it. Anyway In Extremo just f***in rocks :D
@vernaculovermelho not really, i speak both, but i find irish easier. their gaelic pronunciation is horrible though, you can barely make out what they say :L
In Extremo originally wrote the lyrics to the song 'Liam' in German, after which it was translated into Gaelic by Rea Garvey, who was also a guest singer on the song.
Dude this is awesome , the first time when I listened this song is at my guitar teacher and now i just can not stop from listening this song :D . It became an addiction :))
This is In Extremo. Sad that i was too young to see them in this condition. I listen them to sleepp as kid. But after "Sängerkrieg" it was over for me.
Liam Liam!!! "Liam, Liam, bím I gcónai I do theannta Liam, Liam, Tá grá agam don mhuir Liam, Liam, Liam, Liam, Liam, Liam Beidh mé cout gan mhoill" In Italy "Liam, Liam, sono sempre accanto a te Liam, Liam, anche io amo il mare Liam, Liam, Liam, Liam, Liam, Liam Presto verrò da te"
I actually wonder why you have to know German to translate that song xD this version is in irish (I don't know what the language is exactly called in English.. maybe gallic or something xD in German it's called Gälisch^^) but there is a German version of that song as well^^
