Remind me I'm golden The fortress above the sun Why don't you spend nowhere with me Follow the river and the path of the ones Write our names on the shore Forever I can't find Struggling in a world undefined Decide how you want it to be I'm not eternity Fly into the distance Disappear for awhile I can't make sense of this But we're here today feeling alive It starts to fall apart Let me take control (Reminisce) The days and nothing more Something I will find again (Deliver us) Can't hear the words you say But it doesn't really matter I'll give the world to you if you just Fly into the distance Disappear for awhile I can't make sense of this But we're here today alive Fly into the distance Disappear for awhile I can't make sense of this But we're here today alive
*Looks at comments* Okay, am I the only one who likes this album? I guess I'll just always be the melodic kind of guy. Seriously though, loved this album.
took me about 2 years of very dedicated practice almost every day and it's my proudest achievement in my life...but here's the crux, once you learned it it's "easy" to do but god damn it's the most exhausting exercise and that part is never getting much easier. I can completely understand why Anders could never do it live because after each song I need a break or else I get light headed, and in the case of Deliver Us and Darker Times even the last chorus is a struggle to get through. More than once I felt the blacking out phenomenon where the edges of my sight closed in, it's really THAT exhausting. I wish more people would apprechiate the genius of this vocal style because first of all it's the most difficult to learn of all the styles I know, you have to pour your soul out every time you perform it and literally no other prominent vocalist does it...Sound Of A Playground Fading is where he uses it most dominantly and I hate that people shit on it because it's no gothenburg style melodeath when in reality it's much more unique than that
Sprinting through the streets in Saints Row at the speed of sound with this song booming was one of the greatest things you could experience in a video game. Simple, yet incredible
I can respect that. Colony for life. I have the same sentiment, but if I had to be totally honest, I couldn't stand A Sense Of Purpose. I don't hate Siren Charms but I feel like it could of been done a bit better.
I haven't listened to In Flames for years... this sounds like some of the more melodic moments on The Haunted's 'The Dead Eye' which IMO is an incredible album. Softer for sure, but still really well written I'm pleasantly surprised :D
I could care less what era of in flames I listen to whether it's Whoracle or I, The Mask. In Flames kill every song, they're all headbangers to different degrees in their own rights. Some make you wanna mosh, some make you wanna just groove to it and others are all out war. The new re-rerecords sound a little flat and bassless but they're still solidly produced and the actual audio quality is fine. Anders' vocals on the re-records are better in my opinion. In Flames we trust, no matter the era
If there's one thing metal fans love more than metal, it's bitching about the metal they listen to. Apparently I can't like "old" In Flames and "new" In Flames. Shit, man, it's all metal. Just enjoy it, I say.
The more years go by, the more I like this song. I stil lremember how everyone were saying how shitty it is, how they should go back to their roots and other trve-metulz stuff. But hell, this is the IN FLAMES that I want! "Reroute To Reamin" is still my favorite IF album but SOAPF was pretty damn good as well. And this song is just incredible!
I like their old style and their new style. Im tired of metalheads just want bands to release the same album over and over again. And yeah it gets better and better
Per TheHappyPhotographer they don't want the same album, they want the same band, with the same characteristic music style, playing new songs. if they turn from death metal to pop and they release a new album, it will be new, but noone will like it, at least not the fans
Zombot i didn't say THAT'S pop, it was just an example, that's why there's "IF" in front of the sentence =) i'm tired of ppl who respond without reading my comments :P go tell nightwish fans that the band is still awesome even though there's a new singer. oh wait, there's no nightwish fans anymore, everyone gave up on the band cuz they hated the change (i'm obviously talking about Anette and i guess that's why they kicked her out in the end)
Yes for me and for all metal heads inflames will always be a great rock band there guitar solos and bass drums and vocals are a best i was upset when some of the members of inflames had to leave so inflames live on jamming okay for the people and to the fans okay janders
+Guitar Whores The production, riffs and drums of BabyMetal are actually very amazing and brutal, it's just the vocals, but their guitars and songs actually sound better than most bands, and no im not a fan.
i totally agree, we need the old school melodeath, that is dying (dark trankility is doing shit too now), through oblivion made me raging, i liked the new in flames but the new new in flames is just.....
Everyone's sitting here arguing about the subgenre of metal this is, complaining about how it's ridiculous for a band to grow and change, and I'm sitting here realizing that this is one of the most badass in flames songs there is
I hope their new album is more in the direction of Come Clarity. It wasn't as soft and poppy as this, it had a perfect mix of old and new. Songs like Take This Life was a good addition for the newer fans, and Pacing Death's Trail was a great throw back to the Clayman sound. I know their never going to make another Jester's race again, they just need a bit more edge to their music.
Honestly i love the sound and the progression this band has made since their first albums. I find that through their progression that each album has built on each other and just makes this band stick out. Honestly I love growling/ heavy metal core music, but this addition of melody to the metal core is amazing. If you disagree have a great day and enjoy the music that fits you, if you agree have a great day enjoy the album and whatever they continue to work on and put out. But to all. CONTINUE TO LET ROCK LIVE!!!
I'm not a big fan of the "new" In Flames, but this song is fucking awesome. The only other band I can think of that would put a ferris wheel in a video is Alestorm. They like to have fun with their videos, too. For reference, see their video for Magnetic North.
No, but I remember when they were Groove Metal lol I dont think they will be opening for Exodus and Slayer anytime soon. Not mad, they earn a right to change it is they're music not mine but bands of the past such as Slayer and Pantera stood the test of times to show you don't have to change but some bands feel they deserve that right and grow bored which is why Metallica has changed so much since way they back in 1988. Being an old man these days it is nice to slow down some.
This was the first song I heard on the metal/rock station in saint's row 4. I was hyped and thought every song on that station was going to be like this. I was wrong, all others sucked :D
Maybe i miss the old albums but seeing this song and alot more from the new album live was amazing. I sang along with every song like all the others :D it was 2011 in In flames hometown, in Scandinavium. They are great live!
probably the only song i like from their latest album... and to think i like every other song they've released prior to "sounds of a playground blah blah"...shame. that's not even death metal anymore. if they keep going like this they'll start singing with bieber in a few years
For your information Bieber doesn't do music anymore. So probably in a few years they won't be able to make music with him. But yeah, I get the comment..
Ugh, there is always one to write some bullshit comment like this. In Flames were never "death metal" to start with. Progression is the only way to stay at the top in music. Which is exactly what IF has done. If you want them to sounds how they used to be, go and listen to their old albums.
Alexander Pentecost even if u're deaf and u just drop by wikipedia and search "in flames" u'll see: "genres: melodic death metal, alternative metal". i'm not against progression, but that's not it, that's butchering their own music style which is exactly what in flames fans liked. i'm actually listening to their old albums instead of the new ones :D but what i don't get is why u're so butthurt over my opinion. if u think their new album is the best one so far and u like it so much u're free to state ur own opinion which is completely fine and then go back to having multiple eargasms while listening to it, i'll still hold on to my opinion and i won't bother u at all.
Yeah, Wikipedia says so, But he's right you know, In Flames stopped being melodic death metal and became more proggresive over time, you just have to listen Well, this started in Colony, sadly, their writting stopped being about astronomy and mithology, and started being more about personal issues since Clayman, and today, this is their worst writting from all their albums, I mean just read "The Attic" lyrics, so childish compared to some of their other materisl
NerdyGuyRanting Actually was not in a car just in the ambient music (you know that virtual radio that's on everywhere) I really enjoy it a lot more since I heard that song in the game :)
don't hate on In Flames respect and appreciate real musicians with real talent. there's not many left! we are extremely lucky to have this band. these guys have have been around for more then 20 years.
