don’t think I’ve ever heard them sound this tight live. Anders has realised what he does best and is just keeping it metal. All the boys are sounding fucking incredible. Crew nailed the production 🎵
could be wrong - but sad to see the crowd not really appreciating Stand Ablaze. it truly is one of the greatest melodeath songs of all time imo. Masterpiece.
With how much of a deep cut it is there may be a decent chance they don't know it. Also the cameras didn't show too much of the crowd so maybe others there were going crazy off screen.
WOW! The chunk of classic songs starting from 13:34 is epic! This new album sounds like it's going to be great, but it's really cool to hear them crushing with their old material. What I would give to hear them do Jotun and Embody the Invisible!
Saw this set in Boston, and they definitely need to be seen live to appreciate just how good they are. I hope they play this same set in New Hampshire in a couple weeks; Wallflower live is a major experience
Ok, the new In Flames stuff like Foregone pt 1... is giving me a lot of fucking hope for this band. Holy shit. Just listen to that little two bar outro for that song with that blast beat over the top of the harmonized guitars... that is OLD SCHOOL In Flames summed up in 10 seconds. Finally after all these years, they're writing the kind of stuff that got them to where they are. I was never a "hater" of their new stuff, not even the stuff they did after Jesper left the band. It just wasn't my cup of tea, it wasn't the stuff that introduced me to the gothenburg style of melodic metal aka The Jester Race, Whoracle, Colony and Clayman. There is absolutely a distinct "sound" that In Flames had from like 1996 to 2006, and that sound, the composition of the songs, the phrasing of the melodies, you hear it and immediately know it's In Flames. I sincerely hope this is a return to form for them. I hope that they've gotten tired of the mainstream "radio rock" type of sound and their trajectory has changed. It's what so many fans have asked for, even if it's just for one album, call it fan service lol. They're down to 2 original members out of 5, meanwhile The Halo Effect is comprised ENTIRELY of former In Flames members playing similar music and what fans have been asking for out of In Flames for the past decade now at least.
The audio on this livestream is impeccable! One of the best setlists and performances they've played in a couple years. This also is the best quality live performance of Stand Ablaze that exists now, making this one of the most valuable videos involving the band. Also that performance of Scorn was even better than it was played with the classic lineup. Thank you for uploading this!
I'm sorry just found out there touring the us with meshuggah right not playing Cleveland Ohio unfortunately right now! Thanks again for this killer upload!!
Yeah that and Lunar Strain have 0 members from that era currently in the band, although Bjorn and Anders performed on the Jester Race and are still in the band.
Stand Ablaze, Behind Space, Graveland, Episode 666, Scorn, Only for the Weak.... All in a row... Omg and they're not coming to my city. They better keep a similar setlist on their next cycle!
I hope so too haha, today they actually did come to my city but I couldn't see them due to scheduling issues, hopefully we can see them next tour cycle \m/
I'm going to lose my mind if they play "Stand Ablaze" when I see them in Buffalo in a couple weeks. I feel like this audience didn't really know the really old stuff lol. All good though. In Flames' music, new, old and everything in between, is just fucking legendary. Cool little tidbit. I was in a melodic death metal band from 2004-2010 and we covered Stand Ablaze at few shows as a homage to our metal dads. 🔥
Nice bro, old-time fan as well! I just saw them here in SF, no Stand Ablaze unfortunately but they still whipped out some early classics. They slayed live as usual
@@jacobybresset1836 It was fantastic! In Flames was full of energy and had a great setlist that went through most of their catalogue. Highlights for me were to hear them play Graveland and Leeches. They definitely got the place moving and it got even more crazy with Meshuggah. It was my first time seeing them but I was thoroughly impressed. Probably the tightest playing band I've ever seen live and immensely heavy
I'm 51 and have been rocking these guys for a very longtime and they still bring that same energy. You just can't outdo "In Flames" from recordings to "Live" performances.
This Livestream is better than any of their live footage from the past decade, they're really improved now especially Anders much better than past few years, he should always do harsh vocals not high note songs like Paralyzed or Where the Dead Ships Dwell (this song is my fav but the only good live version was Wacken 2012), thanks man for uploading. Watching from Indonesia 🇲🇨
So glad i saw these guys in 2002 when Reroute came out and they had probably the best damn set EVER - and even when Soundtrack hit their set got even more powerful. Some of the best shit ever created ! - and i always love when they close with Shadow.
Ok then, however this concert is great, my life is now almost complete - yesterday I saw In Flames live, with my very eyes and ears. It was a gig in Katowice, Poland. They sounded so damn good! The setlist couldn't be better. What can be better than watching them playing for 1,5h with such commitment and having fun on stage?
After nothing but country music for the last 2 years at my work, I couldn't take it anymore. So I turned this on, very quietly (or so I thought) and not even 5 minutes in and the shop foreman pipes up and says " no wonder kids are so fucked up these days " I responded " your country music explains why you've been divorced 3 times and are still single " I'm 35 for what's it's worth. I also turned it up louder after my reply. And he was silent.
I was really hoping to hear a dialog in B flat minor. Haven't heard that one live yet. Regardless, I got to see the original members back in 2008. Can't believe how much time has gone by and these guys are still going strong. They sound absolutely amazing live.
This show was recorded September 22nd 2022. Foregone came out February 10th, 2023. So there was no way A Dialouge in B Flat Minor would have been played as it wasn't a single. Id be interested to see how it sounds, you got lucky seeing them in 08, and glad to see they still sound great all these years later
Wow, they killed Stand Ablaze. The original and undisputed kings of the Gothenburg sound. I hope Anders takes care of his voice - he really gives it all he's got.
My email is JacobyBresset@gmail.com, send me an email and I'll get back to you when I can to send it. (its 3 GB so just make sure you have room for it.)
I mean I think In Flames has been trash since Reroute to Remain, but I got to admit they sound very good live here. Well done. Could be the recording and mixing engineer mostly as well. Very good recorded sound.
@@christophersanzo1833 I just remember his vocals in 2015-2018. It was very bad) And his extreme vocals, in my opinion, were the best in 2011. However, he had problems with technology and because of this he lost all the tops. In this regard, in 2015-2018 or even -2019, his extreme vocals were at extremely low notes. During the break during the pandemic, it is clear that he did a good job on his vocals. Please excuse my English. I translate in the translator:)
I agree, they seem to be on fire right now 🔥🤘 Tanner is a fantastic drummer and he brings a new energy to the new songs. They really seem to be playing, writing, and recording some of the best tunes of their career 🤘💚💚
Ha....hahah...hahahaha you obviously never saw them in their Jesper era hahahahah I'm sorry dude but you definitely have no ear for live production and how raw and huge they sounded before this lol they lost so much tonenwith in the last 4 hours. Do yourself a favor, go back and listen to everything live from 1997 to now and tell me.they sound better lol I mean I'm sorry man but that's the most retarded comment I have seen in a long time hahahahahahahahahahahahahah I saw them in 2002 pushing route to remain and they sound 10x better hahaha hahahhahahahahH all you definitely are more recent fans. They still kill live, but to say they never sound better?? Hahaha I mean in the 10 years yes but for sure not ever hahahahaha
I believe at 28:30 pretty much sums up what Anders thinks of old In Flames . He thinks old In Flames songs are not good. So untrue. I've met Andres a few different times. He hated signing old shit too. Garbage....garbage...my vocals sucked...etc. Don't even bother talking to him about Ceremonial Oath. lol
Just based on that clip, I wouldn't come to that conclusion, as good as Episode 666 is, the lyrics are quite simple. Although I didn't realize he hated singing on shit, since he did say he was proud of those albums.
