You know his screams aren't like how they used to be, but he sure as hell is trying! He's getting older, and from many other vocalists his throats just isn't doing him good. Not saying that's a bad thing, but that's just how it is. I still loved this video!
Age is not a good reason for bad harsh vocals. harsh vocals are basically just pure technique. And anders' technique is absolutely horrible in a way, that he destroys his own vocal chords, while in reality you should not even use the vocal chords for harsh vocals.
@@HeavyMetalGamingHDFor certain as you call it harsh vocals, you need to use vocal chords. For for example singing with distorstion (yes it is a harsh vocal technique).
Tell me about it. They barely look interested when playing older tracks if you look closely on newer live clips. Watered down and routinely mailing it in. They know what they have turned into, and that is their punishment. Anders looks like a golf caddie here by the way.
Shut with the 90s MDM already. The first IN FLAMES albums were fucking awful. Everything before Clayman is boring as fuck. And the last album was also boring as fuck but in a different way. But please stop whining about the "old In Flames".
Zombot I'm not whining buddy. Just stated my opinion. The Subterranean EP beats the hell out of whatever it was I heard in this video clip. The early sound of In Flames is timeless.
Agreed - They where unike, now tey sound lika a generic modern american metal band. Up till clayman is awesome, everything after... meeh... Jesper Strömblad was the heart and sould of the band.
It's because for some fucking reason they decided not to play a lot of the melodies, there is one during the chorus and the part that starts at 1:48. Incredibly disappointing because this song is not hard on guitar at all.
Anders usually changes the way he sings in the live performaces, is like when you sing at your home you just go with the flow of the song and sings the way that you feel at that moment, at least I think that he aproaches this live moments in this way enjoying with the public instead of just singing like in the records. it was something that bodered me in the beggining as well but now I realized that I sing just like him most of the time haha This has not been confirmed by none of the members but I think it is something in these lines
@@supremophm9910no man that’s not how it works. People paid alot of money hear the song done right. You don’t get to just loud talk and half ass scream the words.
@trantorthetroll8768 that could be the case for a new band that is making the first shows, but in flames is really old and it has always been like this, if you don't like them just do not watch it... I'm not.hating on you bro you have your opinion I have mine but I really do not see why someone would pay to.see the band if they do not like the way they do it
Everyboudy says Anders Voice is bad, but i think its not! Sure, its not as good as it was 10 years ago, but i think its stil pretty good and powerfull!
What you are experiencing is called denial. Its the same reasoning you use to manage still being an In Flames fan in 2016. on a personal note. -holy crap Fridens voice is ruined. And this version. It would have been better being sung by a teenage cover band.
@@seba8194 nah, I was just alive, with working ears, during the 90s. Hearing them live back then, even compared to just 10 years later was night and day. Band was really starting to fall apart 15 years ago. I wouldn't even imagine how it sounds live these days... Probably downtuned and mixed to shit.
@@MotherAce Anders was always playing around and chopping up only for the weak, it has nothing to do with his vocal abilities. Find stand ablaze, behind space, graveland from this years shows and give them a listen.
@@MotherAce Anders voice has actually improved from this time era, and he sounds pretty damn good ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zMa47oaalkI.html mixing is quite good and their latest singles from Foregone have been their best stuff in years imo. Although this performance wasn't his best imo, I am glad to see him improve.
Everyone giving out about Anders voice must have forgotten he’s in his 40s during that performance can’t expect his voice to be the same as it was when he was in his 20s
Nah horrible reasoning. Many old singers can scream and growl perfectly fine. It's all about technique and anders' technique is basically almost non existent.
GOtta say I hate when they change the song like this. Masterpiece like this should not be changed. Doesn't matter if they made it :P This sounds terrible. And I'm not a typical in flames hater I love the band.
The thing is that his voice changed over time, he spent all of his throat on the first 10 years of In Flames in singing in heavy screams. Now he is just "handicapped" from singing in that way. I can hear him trying and trying to scream without much success. So, as much as I hate saying this, their new style fits them better just because of the fact Anders wasn't born to be a death metal singer. I think it's not that he doesn't want to do another Whoracle or Jester race style album, but he can't do that. I completely respect it, not judging him for anything, as I feel he wasn't the one to decide, but his throat changes over time.. I do prefer the old In flames' songs so I sure feel sorry there's no more great new wild stuff from them.
PixxiCarArt Mikael Stannes from DT is fine. Lead singer of amon amarth is fine.at the gates are fine. in flames did this to themselves, stop making excuses for them
I am a diehard In flames melodeath era fan and am not making excuses for them, don't get me wrong. The "I don't wanna do Whoracle or Jester race again" is a justification(an excuse) for their (primarily Anders') inability to do such albums anymore. We cannot compare him to other singers in death metal bands. That is just because human individuals differ, someone's throat endures decades of screaming and growling, someone's don't. Natural selection plus the way they treat their voices themselves.
This just means he used a horrible technique. you don't wear out your throat with a proper guttural singing technique. You can do growls into your 70s easily if you know what you do. Many even get better with age, because they refine their technique. Just listen to old amon amarth and current amon amarth. Johan's growls became way deeper. Johan and Anders are also literally the same age.
@@HeavyMetalGamingHD You are absolutely right. Peter Tägtgren of Hypocrisy is probably my favorite example confirming your theory. Back to In Flames, listening to the 2004 live stuff you can find on youtube though, I still think the technique was too much all in which might have caused some harm. That said, I wrote this comment years ago and I must admit the newer stuff did make me bite my tongue a little for sure. I am no expert in this so at the end of the day, I have no idea😅
the dude doesnt care man. Rocking a all white outfit to a metal gig hahah and he doesnt sound good at all. But its in flames man. I am coping a new album when it comes out.
The concert was super disappointing comparing to my expectations.. his voice did not feel right compared to what I've heard earlier and a lot of the recorded music. Of all the live performances I've seen from In Flames, this has to be one of the most disappointing ones.
***** Haven't seen it yet. I still stand by my point, waiting for ages to In Flames to arrive on Stage LIVE for the first time.. it was disappointing..
Hahaha, Anders looks like some "edgy" DJ or hiphop producer. Or as someone else said Fred Durst. It suits the modern In Flaymz as a glove. And his voice sucks more than ever. Even my neutered cat sounds more powerful.
Well this is certainly really different version of the song. I really dont like it with all the random echos, random changes in the singing tone and missing melodies.
They would benefit from recruiting a harsh vocalist. Anders harsh vocals are shit. Kinda better cleans now. But I think dual vocalists would freshen up In Flames. If they got the right person, in my opinion.
