Oh god , loved In Flames so much as a teenager from Lunar Strain until Clayman. Also , this song was the first one I ever heard from them and it absolutely melted my mind back then.

Absolutely love this classic Gothenburg melodic death metal song! The melodies are so good...’Jotun’ was the first song that I heard by In Flames, really loved the melody in that one too...sad the band has changed so much over the years, but we’ll always have these old songs to go back to

I've seen some of your reactions to tracks from their newest album and then this and December Flower, so the middle of the discography is open game. I think naturally you have to check out something from each album to truly see how they've morphed from this, to I Am Above...etc. Great reaction and loved hearing this track again!

This, timeless and the dead eternity are my favorites from the ep. My personal favorite is the next album the jester race. It was the first album with anders and also features bjorn on drums as well.

In Flames used to be so fucking good. I was just getting into them as they released Clayman, but I still prefer the older shit. Nothing can touch their first 2-3 albums.

Check out Twilightning. They have two great albums of great melodic power metal (Plague house puppett show and Delirium veil). In The Fervor's Frontier is a good place to start or At The Forge. You'll love the vocals by Heikki Pöyhiä.

Vannila Ice comparison made me laugh when I heard "Same guy, different Vannila Ice", because as far as I know this is reverse of that same name different dudes :D Lunar Strain and Subterranean has something very raw, very sharp and very special something that later In Flames do not have. Grew up listening to A Sense of Purpose, Come clarity, Clayman, so I enjoy most of what In Flames has done. But my love for great guitarwork tells me that this is it.

Definetly one of my Top10 In Flames songs as a fan for more than half my life. Awesome band until (incl) Clayman. Thenceforth decreasing from mediocre to not anymore worth listening to.

Some people absolutely love the new In Flames. I'm with you, though. Maybe if I'd listened to their newer sound when it actually came out I'd be able to like it more. Now it just seems to me like some mediocre nu-metal stuff that I've heard before. Oh well. I'm thankful they made those first 5 albums + Subterranean!!!

In flames is a conpletely different band now, their development was good before, I enjoy clayman a lot, and A sense of purpose + Sounds of a playground are my favourites. But when they released Battles in 2016... Jesus Christ. Something died :(

Henke Forss on vocals. You should give a try to Dawn - Slaughtersun album (one of the best black death melodic metal album IMO). Songs The Knell And The World or Malediction Murder. BTW, was an In Flames fan until Clayman. When I saw them live (for the 4 or 5th time) they played the song "System". We instantly knew the old In Flames was completely gone. Too bad, they were so great.

Yes that was a good album. But one album that will always stand for me is the band: Vinterland - Welcome My Last Chapter. Masterpiece!!! And unfortunately their only album.

peter christensen thats a really good album. I'm still hunting for it. Extremely rare. Unanimated also with their 3 full lengths. Cardinal Sin another great 1. I just got Noctes - Pandemonic Requiem. Its pretty good.
