The Aboriginal People are not 'traditional custodians' of Australia. They are the legal and sovereign owners of the territory of what the Dutch named New Holland. The Dutch did not claim it because in the 1700s it was illegal to claim already occupied land. Hence Captain Cook's lie that it was 'terra nullius'. It is not widely known that 90% of Aboriginal people around Port Jackson and Botany Bay were murdered with smallpox in the FIRST YEAR of the invasion - 1788-89. The invaders, including Cook, had stocks of the smallpox virus on their ships. This was a standard strategy of the Brits who used the strategy of killing natives with infections elsewhere, including the USA.
