What a wonderful surprise to find your podcast via youtube suggestion, I love your calm style and your projects are all wonderful, I live in New Zealand so we are definitely having some cooler nights just now, I have just finished the Paloma top by Truly Myrtle.
Hello Marie-Ève, I modified my Ranunculus, because I had the same "stockinette in the round boring" as you have. I just repeated some of the patterns of the yoke in the body. Love it. This is an amazing first episode. Happy knitting, Uschi
You look a lot like my goddaugher Megan...she is also Italian. I really like your kind of taste as I always mesh patterns together or put in my own twist in a pattern...
You're a natural ! Great first episode. Your Ranunculus looks spectacular as does your Franken Jumper :). Your craft room looks amazing, You look very industrious. How exciting moving to Italy, Im sure everything will fall into place for you.
Welcome to Italy. Perhaps you could make a winter headband with your first skein of yarn which you spun. I think that the colors will compliment your hair color nicely. Enjoy your craft time and kudos on your first video which was so enjoyable.
So glad I came across your video. It’s amazing that this is your first video. You’re a natural. Brown is my favorite color so your neutral esthetic is just what I like to see
Just loved your first podcast. It is wonderful that beautiful young people like yourself are giving knitting a much needed facelift. Having said that, I really don’t ‘get’ the popularity of the ranunculus … it seems so dated and reminiscent of something my grandmother would wear. I’m sure you’ll look gorgeous in it but it baffles me why it is so popular when there are so many amazing patterns out there. Brown is definitely your colour btw 😊and I love your petite knits shawl… please don’t frog it. Can’t wait to see more podcasts from you Von in Aus x
Hello dear, such a beauty. Your sweetness and your works make me smile. Such a joy these days where war is at our door... to look at you and knit with you. You gave me some peace. That, and the way you mix patterns. Bravo!!! Thats the way to go. Waiting for your next time here. Be well Shilhav
Thank you for sharing - no, not boring!! Love the organic innovation that is part of your creative process - lots of talent there and I really enjoy your aesthetic. Happy making - I'm a fan!
Thank you for sharing your knitting and your life info- so interesting that you live in Italy! Would love to see more of where you live in Italy, lifestyle and all of your projects as time allows, when and if, you feel so inclined.
Great first episode. Your knits are very beautiful. I love your color choices. You did a great job on the sweater you are wearing, putting two patterns together. How long have you been knitting? Take care, I look forward to seeing you again.
I love your podcast! Looking forward to the next one. Beautiful socks. 😊 love that you are also crocheting. 🧶 your squares are lovely. Can’t wait to see what you are going to make with these. Thanks again for sharing! Best. 🎉😊
Thank you I really enjoyed your Podcast, very interesting to see the crafts that you do. I knit mostly now, but have dabbled in quite few other crafts. And you have an adorable cat so I am definitely coming back 😅 I am a cat lover ❤ over the years I have also renovated old furniture which I really enjoyed, making it my own. Good luck in your job search, see you again soon I hope. 😊
Great podcast! I love your granny squares. I think it will make a beautiful cardigan or blanket. I love the idea of using up the things you have. I hope you have a lovely week.☺️
Thanks for a great first episode. Really enjoyable to hear about your knits and also about your life. What a great adventure. I look forward t9 the next episode.
Lovely first episode ! I loved hearing about how you ended up living in Italy as someone who also met a foreigner and moved to another country , selling everything and starting over is such an adventure. Enjoy :))
Bravo Marie-Ève, c’est plaisant de te voir. Je suis très fière de toi. Tu travail tellement bien. J’ai hâte de voir tes prochains vidéos. I hope some day soon you get a spinning wheel. Tante Rachel xox
Glad you have decided to do a podcast, I love your calming and natural vibes. Congratulations for the first episode 😊🎉. I’m waiting patiently for the next one.
I am so happy to have come across you, I loved the whole episode, where you are living is beautiful why move, enjoy your new life which is an adventure. I am interested to know what kind of career you have. Love your work looking forward to your next episode. Xx
Lovely first episode! Such high quality :) Thank you for sharing all of your making. I´ve also knit a Tulip Sweater, Sophie Shawl and Ranunculus (and am about to knit my second Ranunculus), so it was extra fun hearing your take on those patterns. Wishing you all the best for settling down in Italy! I also moved abroad last year (from Germany to Norway) and knitting has really helped me find a community of like-minded people in my new home, maybe it will for you too. :)
You had me at I've moved to Italy! I much rather the European aesthetic than North American and the jumper you are wearing confirmed a style that will appeal. Also thank you for not slurping tea as seems to be the trend and also for presenting at a good pace! Looking forward to the next one.
great first podcast actually great any podcast you seemed very comfortable I watched until the end and did see you do have pomegranate trees in your yard how lucky you are to have such a lovely place to live around. What a wonderful life you wake up to even if just for now this is something you will remember for a lifetime, hope to see more of your surroundings, my family comes from the Island of Sicily so have always felt connected to that area of Italy and wanted to visit there one day.
Hey Marie! Welcome to the knitting podcast game :) I always love to see new podcasts popping up and you are a natural! I really like your Franken Sweater very much! I am currently also trying to adjust the length of a sweater and considered sweater surgery but I found it too tedious and just ripped back instead. The Carta Socks are gorgeous and I really hope they won't get holes in them. Be carefull with spinning, it is very addictive! excited to see more from you in the future! greetings from Germany !
So glad to have come across your first episode. I enjoyed it so much! I love your knitting content, but even more so your relocation story because it's so relatable to me. It's exciting but can be lonely and daunting at times, at least that's my experience :). I wish you all the best with settling down in your new home ❤
Thanks!! And yes I can relate with your experience! It’s mostly good, but it also comes with some more difficult moments, but knitting certainly helps to get through them :)
Hello Marie-Eve...I'm just finding you, a bit late for the party, but I wanted to welcome you to the knitting community on RU-vid. I do not have a channel (yet), but hope to someday as well. I am also a knitter, I enjoy crocheting, spinning for 30+ years, and I have dabbled in some beginner weaving projects. Did you figure out what to do with your yarn pieces? Are they wool? I was wondering if you could make dryer balls with them? I saw (and haven't researched it yet) a DIY on Pinterest for making wool dryer balls, are your pieces wool? Well, I see you have other episodes so you may have figured out what to do with them, but I thought of dryer balls right away. Just in case you aren't familiar with them, someone came up with an idea for using felted wool balls as a natural softener & it also takes care of static in the dryer. Mine have been around for years, and they are still working well. Just an idea...and I am enjoying your first episode...back to finishing up. I am enjoying seeing your finished projects and WIPS, and again welcome!
Thanks for the warm welcome 🥰 and that’s a great idea to use my little yarn pieces! Most of them are wool and I still have not used them. I also saw some coasters at the store the other day made with small felted wool balls assembled together, I think I may try to do that! Thanks for the idea! 😀 and I hope to see a podcast from you soon :)
Thank you Marie for your wonderful podcast. Great job on your first episode🎉 I am new to sock knitting and am wondering about your socks “piercing”? What does that mean? Look forward to seeing more of your episodes❤
Thanks! And it just means that I will probably get holes in those socks once I wear them 😅 since there is no nylon, the yarn can create a more delicate fabric, so I’m scared that once I wear them in shoes and walk around, the fabric won’t be strong enough and I’ll be left with socks full of holes on the sole… let’s see!
Welcome and such a wonderful first podcast! I love what you shared and am looking forward to more. I do have a question about your Tulip Sweater - I have yet to make one as many of the ones I've seen the scallops seem to curl. Your lay beautifully flat. Did you modify anything there? Thank you:)
Thanks! For the tulip hem, I think that 1) binding off the stitches very loosely, 2) using a yarn that is more on the rustic side (something that will hold it’s shape) and 3) a good wet block followed by pinning down each individual scallop with lots of pins were the main reasons that helped them to not curl. I hope this helps :)
Lovely podcast. Look forward to more. Re your crochet, you might want to check out the "Its a Sarah" podcast" if you've not already. She's recently finished a lovely granny square jumper and she's also done a granny square cardigan. It may give you some inspiration.
Wonderful first episode, great content, and beautifully photographed. You are so fortunate to live in such a lovely setting even for a short time. I also appreciate all the links to the things you mentioned; this is so helpful!
