GoFundMe to support The Gravley Family: www.gofundme.c...
Jennifer Cooper Gravley passed away peacefully on the morning of Saturday, February 10th at age 54 after a long and courageous battle with stage 4 colon cancer. She went into eternal glory with her dear husband of nearly 32 years by her side. She joins her precious momma and daddy, along with Anthony’s parents.
My husband Brian and I had the fortune of becoming close friends with Anthony and Jennifer over the past 5 years. As we came to know their amazing love story, and the stories of their parents, we felt blessed to have such an amazing example of love in our lives.
They met in college when Anthony was 18 and Jennifer was 21. They married in 1992 and created a beautiful family together - 3 amazing sons and now a daughter-in-law and precious grandbaby who just turned one. Over the years, they have given so much of themselves to take care of others. As caregivers for their parents, they selflessly set aside their own lives to ensure they received the best care possible. As a teacher, Jennifer helped shape the lives of so many students throughout the years.
We have witnessed so much loss in the Gravley/Cooper family, as all four of their parents passed over a very short time period from 2020 - 2022. But one thing we have not witnessed is a loss of spirit or faith in our Lord and Savior. Even as Jennifer was handed a life altering diagnosis of stage 4 colon cancer in August of 2022, it did not break their faith. Jennifer immediately started her fight with an aggressive treatment plan. And not ONE time did anyone hear her complain or question why this was happening to her. She faced this battle more courageously and determined than anyone I’ve ever met.
I know one of her wishes would be that her family is taken care of, and unfortunately along with so much loss, there has been a lot of financial burden on this beautiful family. Both Jennifer and Anthony had to step down from their teaching jobs to focus on her declining health and aggressive chemotherapy treatment plan. Due to the kindness and generosity of their friends and family, they were able to get through the last year and a half with the help of donations from another GoFundMe. They will be closing that campaign as we launch this one (www.gofundme.c...) and thank everyone for the continued support.
I wanted to start this new fundraiser as the family enters this next chapter. We would love it if you could help us honor Jennifer’s memory. I understand that not everyone will be in a position to give - but honestly every dollar helps - and if you are unable to give, please just keep them in your prayers as they try to figure out life without their precious momma, wife and NanNan.
Funds will go directly to support the family with any needs they have including:
* Funeral Expenses (estimated between $5,000 - $10,000)
* Remaining Medical Expenses
* Support as Anthony transitions from full-time caregiver
Thank you for helping us bless this family, and please keep them in your prayers as the most difficult of days are still ahead.

My daughter, 44, is currently fighting what we suspect is ovarian cancer.The definitive biopsy cannot be done locally, she is in too much pain to travel. Her GPs won't increase her meds as they are ignorant, thoughtless and not aware of pain protocol. She has a 15 year old son who is one of her carers.Its killing her and us. Amazing to hear survivor stories. Bless all in the cancer community. Sincere condolences to your friend's family. She will be missed. From Australia.

The hospice nurses on RU-vid have said that when a person is dying they have a period where they suddenly become very lucid and awake and engage with their family before a downturn. I am so glad you were able to get there safely and stay for that time, and uplift her, sharing Elsie with her. In the pictures you showed she looks so happy to just see Elsie and hold her tiny hand. Your lives are enriched through having known her, and you have shared that with us. Thank you. RIP Jennifer

That's exactly what happened to my Uncle. He was in the hospital, at the end stages of throat cancer. The very day before he died. He wanted my father to get him dressed because he wanted to go home. He had just turned 60. That was in 2004. Three years later, in 2007, I had a very vivid dream. I was walking down the corridor of an unfamiliar hospital. All of a sudden, my Uncle came walking through a door to my right. I was shocked. I said, "Uncle Ross, I thought you were dead"! He had the hospital gown on that he was wearing when he passed, but he didn't have his trach in, and he could talk clearly. He said, "I am, it's not me, it's your Aunt Sharon". He took me back the way I had come from. He showed me a room, where my Aunt was laying in bed. I woke up thinking, "That was very strange and very real. I said nothing to my father. About a week later, my Dad said to me, "Your Aunt Sharon might be in a bit of trouble. The doctors think she is full of cancer. Three weeks later, she passed. I know that was a visit from my Uncle. It still sends shivers down my spine when I think of it, but I know that it is also proof that there is life after death.

My niece’s husband had been battling stage IV lung cancer, and four months after we found that out my niece’s brother was diagnosed with stage IV pancreatic cancer… My nieces husband got stage four lung cancer. I was searching info about it and came across Jenny Apple’s channel. She had stage four lung. It’s just seems like so many people are showing up with cancer in the past year-ish. I’m so very sorry to know that it hit you, too. 😢 We assume that one of those two fellas who are in their 50s both of them would likely succumb to their illness and that would be the next family member we lost …. But no. My son crashed on Christmas Day, and died for six days after that. He was an organ donor, so it was part of what went on during those days after. I agree cancer is a beast. my nieces husband ran out of his cobra insurance and was uninsured the last three months of 2023. He had to stop all of his treatment. He’s back on insurance now he was able to get on my nieces insurance at the beginning of the year. Ugh. So much wrong with so many things. Take care.❤

I was in the hospital this past week for my 4th colon cancer surgery, and while I was there, my cousin who was already battling two types of cancer was found to have a massive tumor in her lung and passed away. I had a colonoscopy last autumn. The hardest thing was the fasting and liquids and drinking the stuff on schedule that cleans out your insides. They give you anesthetic, you know nothing, and there's no pain afterward. You'll just need a reliable ride home. I got a good result: one lone polyp removed with no problems and a clear biopsy.. I join with Jessica and Brian and encourage everyone to go ahead and get checked. Most of us will be okay. Some of us will need to take steps but first we have to know!
@k9khodi363
@k9khodi363 5 месяцев назад
The prep is the easiest part. I do it many times even when I'm not having a colonoscopy to alleviate symptoms and keep me from ending up in the ER again. I don't understand why people find the prep so difficult. Miralax can be put in any light colored drink and magnesium citrate comes in colorless tasty flavors - grape, cherry, etc.
@1234cheerful
@1234cheerful 5 месяцев назад
@k9khodi363 I don't know what condition you are dealing with, but most people don't have to routinely alleviate symptoms that might put them in the ER! Unless they are dealing with an ED, which I don't get any vibe you are at risk of, you are just comfortable with the process and it works for you. If you are doing the protocol often, every few months or so, it would be a familiar habit. For me it was once, and then they'll see me in 3 years, so it was weird. I hope you are able to stay out of the ER however you need to manage it!
@k9khodi363
@k9khodi363 5 месяцев назад
@@1234cheerful I'm not sure how needing to clear the colon of fecal matter and toxins relates to priapism (the only ED issue that would warrant a trip to the ER). 🤔

There is a reason but we’re not allowed to talk about it. Billions of humans accepted an experimental treatment. Now cancer, heart and neurological issues are skyrocketing. Most Western countries have experienced a 10-20% increase in excess death. But none of our governments are acknowledging this phenomenon.

I 💯 percent agree with making sure to go to all appointments and procedures even though you're scared. I have been feeling really sick since Sept 2023 and my doctor just wouldn't listen that I really really didn't feel good and just could tell that something wasn't right. So I was starting to feel like I was going crazy and maybe there really wasn't anything wrong. But I kept having unusual pain and extreme fatigue and she was trying to say it was all these different possible like a UTI which I didn't have, a vitamin D deficiency which I didn't have either. Something kept telling to make an appointment for a mammogram so I did went to my appointment, then the doctor said he wanted me to get an ultrasound so I did that. And because of what he saw he said I needed to get a biopsy done. So I had that done and when I got the call that the results were back it was January 29, 2024 and I officially diagnosed with breast cancer.

We are the only developed nation that doesn't have a healthcare system where folks can never end up losing their life savings when they experience a cancer or other serious medical issue. 42% of cancer patients in the US spend down their life savings within 2 years of diagnosis. We are the wealthiest nation on earth. We deserve the healthcare and lack of financial burden that folks in other developed nations enjoy. Tell your congress people. Vote.

This health care you propose is fair ONLY if ALL forms of health care are covered. Some people choose holistic and alternative treatments, and these are almost never covered by any insurance. The standard medical cabal is great for some things, but we should have choices. My sister died of endometrial cancer and I saw firsthand the money grubbing doctors who angled to get her to get treatment at their facility so they could make that money. Sis and her husband used insurance to help cover the first year of surgeries, chemo, radiation, etc. Fourteen months later, the major hospitals could do no more and suggested she go home to die. Unwilling to give up the fight, my sister and her husband chose a last-ditch effort for treatment at an alternative healing facility that cost over 100k for six weeks. But it was too late and she only lasted four more months. If the alternative treatment had been available for insurance coverage from the beginning, maybe things would've turned out differently. We will never know. To recap, your suggestion for universal health care is a terrible idea to those of us who will not choose that universal treatment.

I'm so sorry for the loss of your sister. I lost a dear friend who wanted to seek care at Mayo Clinic, which was not "in her network" so it was not covered. Her family believes it would have given her a better chance to live. I agree alternatives should be covered. But they aren't now. If they still weren't under a universal plan, at least a lot fewer people would go bankrupt over medical debt or over one visit to the ER after a car accident, etc. That would be a great thing. @@Vic-Meow

@@Defundthemasons ding ding ding good comment. If we look at who the mainstream ridicules -- like chiropractors, naturopaths, homeopaths, etc., -- the allopaths don't want us going to those other specialties and healing or preventing illness. People are figuring it out.

@@womanofacertainage5892 thank you and I'm sorry for the loss of your friend as well. I agree our system is quite broken but the universal healthcare would be a terrible idea because the government is part of the problem. The whole system needs torn down and redone.

I’m so sorry for yours and her families life. Last year I was diagnosed with stage 3c colon cancer with a 8.2cm tumor in my ascending colon with 3 spores near the tumor and 14/29 lymph nodes and a pre cancerous polyp in my transverse colon and a precancerous polyp in the descending colon at 57. I had no symptoms. Being plant based for 7yrs I was not constipated, no weight loss, no bleeding etc. But I knew I was off. So Yes. Push your Dr. or Listen to your Dr’s recommendation. And do your preventative healthcare tests. Doing 1 colonoscopy is so insignificant compared to the alternative. Not to mention cost. As you also know. Sending much love to you all during this time of grief.

Oh my goodness, this made me cry and I only looked at the details in the GoFundMe description. I didn’t even start the video yet. I lost my mom at age 54 to stage 4 colon cancer back in 2008 😢 the identical gender, age, cancer type and stage really got to me. I’m so sorry for this profound loss 😔 I honour my mom by getting colonoscopies every 5 years. I just had my third one in late 2023. I refuse to die from this disease. It also got my grandfather, my mom’s dad, at aged 56. So, please, if this specific cancer runs in your family, please get a colonoscopy. It can save your life. ❤

I can't fathom what they went through in such a short period and then to face into a battle for Jennifer's life. I can't fathom that. I lost my dad to dementia last year and that's hard enough. And now Anthony has lost his beautiful life too. He is going to need alot of support. What a lovely tribute. RIP Jenifer . I can't fathom either that people suffering so much loss in their lives are left with a high financial burden! My dad's medical care(hospital for 3 months prior to his death) has zero cost and his funeral cost 7 thousand, paid for by himself. I think it's terrible that families are left with those costs.

Thank you so much for encouraging people to see another physician if their dr can't or won't order the test. I lost my best friend, Rosie 18 1/2 years ago because for 2 years she suffered with pain and issues, that drs kept telling her was just digestive issues, even when she ended up in the hospital, they told her she was too young to have colon cancer. She asked them for a colonoscopy and was told she was worrying needlessly! She eventually finally was given a colonoscopy and she had stage 4 colon cancer that had spread to her liver on both sides. She powered on a few years with endless chemo and surgeries, and eventually it spread to her brain. It is so important for people not to just accept the drs opinions when you are not getting answers or relief from your issues. Please don't ignore your symptoms. Sometimes you have to demand answers. I'm sorry, it's something I feel strongly about, and I'm so glad you have spoken up like this. God bless you both! I love your story by the way, and have been praying for you guys through all you've been through. God bless your little miracle, Elsie XXX Lita
