This is pretty much all the video I captured of David Z during the Trans-Siberian Orchestra 2015 Winter Tour. So I just strung it all together in honor of what David Z brought to the TSO East Group stage. RIP David Z.
I toured with Dave (I was crew) on TSO in 2013 and we used to do a skit where my crew mate and I jumped on stage with him and did pushups during the show and Dave Z did them one handed while playing bass at the same time! He was a super positive dude and very talented. I can’t believe I am just now hearing about this. RIP Dave Z, see you at the great gig in the sky fellow road dog. It was an honor to know you.
Have watched this young man perform from the floor seats for many years ~ will not be the same without him. My heart breaks for his family & friends. (p.s---THANKS for posting this. I missed the 2015 tour & can"t stop watching
My fondest memory of Dave is when he came down to the audience. As he got to the back of the floor section, a fan wanted to do push-ups with him. He agreed and proceeded to do one-handed push-ups while still playing his bass. Dude will be missed.
So sad the stage seemed to be missing something this year , I kept looking for David rocking that bass and it just seemed lonely and I missed chatting with him and his jokes and our laughing, he had such a resonating and flamboyant stage presence and personality he is sadly missed.
Very nice tribute. I saw Dave Z several times with TSO east over the years. He was a good bassist, performer and a great fit for the band. Tragic accident that took his life for sure.
David z was a good rock bassist he was versatile and gifted he was also a really nice guy I was talking to him after a show they played in Albany NY last year I'm sad
I haven't seen TSO since 04 so I never had a chance to witness David Z's play. He stole the show from other world-class players like himself. What a bass player as good as any I've seen and I have seen a lot of good ones over the years. David Z was in a class by himself. R.I.P David.
I’m a Westie so I’m not as familiar with David Z. Thank you for posting this marvelous tribute. You can see he absolutely loved what he did. I’m sorry I never got the opportunity to see him live. May his memory be a blessing.
OMG, that's who died. I thought he looked familiar in the Soto video. I didn't realize it was him! He was always one of my favorites in the TSO videos.
I was thinking about him today and found your video. Thanks for this tribute. He was my favorite. One year we got tickets that put me about five feet and three stairs from him. I was thinking, hey, self, I bet I could get to him before security could get to me and if I'd had a few drinks in me, I might have tried! His replacement was good, but there was only one David.
Not sure about the future. I did not record video in 2016. The camera nazis at the venues have become beyond annoying, to the point of not enjoying the show. I didn't create a full show for 2015 since I didn't get enough good video because of them. I did get some decent full songs so I may post some single songs from 2015 at some point.
Thanks for the reply. I hope you are able to do more TSO concert videos in the future. You do a fantastic job on them!. I posted this video on the Trans-Siberian Orchestra fan page on facebook. facebook.com/groups/264790880266405/
I took that photo myself of him and my daughter after a Meet & Greet. When it starts to zoom you can see her being cropped out on the left. We always stay at the end of the line to spend a few extra minutes with them and he always made it a point to be in as many photos as fans wanted.
