Lex, That's an extraordinary tribute to a woman who had a monumental impact on the world. The character you display and your eloquent speech and manners are a testament to the greatness she instilled in you. You needn't worry if you've achieved success...your strength, wisdom and love of life are very evident. She is proud of you, I am proud of you. You deserve to be proud of yourself....therefore, never speak down of your past, present or future. May she rest in peace and may you find solace in her passing in that she resides in you. Godspeed

I have always loved how much you focus on words in your podcasts. You seem to understand, on a deep level, how much words really matter. From one "words person" to another, I really wish words could actually be more comfort... even if from a stranger on the internet. At any rate, your grandmother obviously means a great deal to you. Now, you've just brought that woman's life to the consciousness of over half a million people across the world. You are a good man Lex... and an incredible grandson. I am sorry for your loss.

Your grandmother was a fighter. She survived during the most difficult times in recent history a human could face yet she did not see herself as a victim. Like many from that part of the world and going through that time, you had to fight to survive or you just died. Americans definitely need to hear this story, Lex. Today in America, our culture has been turned upside down by groups competing against each other trying to establish who is the biggest victim.

I love that you pubically honored your grandmother. Grandmothers don't often have much power in the wider world but wield tremendous power in the minds and imaginations of their grandchildren throughout their lives. The depth of your loss shows in this video, but so too does the enormity of strength and wisdom you have been gifted. Here is a poem I wrote after my grandma died. It always comforts me and makes me cry. I am the mother of 4 grown children and hope to be a grandmother soon. I am certain not a single accomplishment you accrue going forward will come as close to making your grandmother as proud of you as the kind of person you already are. Your integrity, kindness, and work ethic are a beautiful testament to the kind of woman your grandmother was. Grandma Vonnie... I stop Picture her at day’s end With her tea. I wanted to be just like her. But she would never Stop To dawdle, To write, To daydream The way I do. I write poetry. She was a poem. She never Stopped Til we were all thoroughly fed, Babies happy, House clean, Laundry done. Her poetry was the grace of her movements As she worked from morn til night. Her poetry was How loved she made us feel. Her poetry was her kitchen Where anybody could Stop Anytime And be fed the dishes she woke well before sunrise to prepare. Her home was a sacred place to us, Her enormous kitchen a sanctuary. After she died I was stunned to realize how Tiny her kitchen really was, And that it could exist at all Without her in it. I will always strive to be like her. And will make the dinner soon, but for now I Stop And watch As the tears Fall On my poem For her.

Our dear Alex: Thank you for having shared your loving requiem with us, the brothers and sisters you've all over the world. You are a great man, a true inspiration for many of us. Sometimes, when I watch your videos, I imagine you are the smart, trustful and cheerful friend I never had. A friendship with an intelligent, wise and emphatic person like you would have made a great difference when I was younger, to get the best of me, to fight harder for my dreams, while they were still alive. I'm happy you are so young, you have so much energy, plans, method, knowledge... you'll get very far, I know. You must know for sure that you honor your grandmother's memory by being the way you are, and by helping and inspiring others (like me) to get over their mind limitations every day. Thank you. Peace and respect to this loving and strong woman.

I wish Lex had made a good impact in Russia and Ukraine not thousands kilometres away from his grandma. Horrible things happened there because grandsons left their Babanjas when the old and weak needed them. They prefer to launch careers in a richer countries. Sad. "Бабань, я уже скучаю" Its heartbreaking to hear those words and sadly knowing the way it feels. If theres something to be said its better to be said in russian - Ты - прекрасный человек.

Both of my grandmothers died before I was born, but I caught their strength, partly through my mother, my uncles, and the photos they appeared in, and the questions I asked. Whole my life I tried do become financially free and everyday I'm getting close to my goal. I want to give my grandma and my parents a really good life since they worked hard their. Царство небесное твоей бабине.

I grew up with my grandmother in a small town Myanmar until I became 6 years old so I can relate the story with you. But my grandmother was an immigrant from China and totally illiterate as all of my parents too. my father learned how to read and write from the monastery. I wish I was given valuable teaching and advice like your grandmother. In that sense, you have a huge advantage so thank her more. Thank you for sharing a heartwarming story.

Most inspiring, keep listing to your gut for your dear grandmother 's loving voice, keep dreaming, keep working hard and creating with humble naivety and a toast to her gracious spirit, may it forever watch over you.

My family is from Russia (in Canada now), and my Babushka was actually originally from Kharkiv aswell, and listening to you speak of her truly brought me to tears. When you spoke about her watching over the world silently, and speaking only when she had wisdom to impart, and teaching you that the emotional ups and downs of everyday will always come, but to stay steady, if was as if you were speaking about my Grandmother. She taught me the importance of words, and how to use them, and to always be wary of the power that they hold, and to wield that power wisely. She taught me that I can do anything, and to never forget the strength that lies within me. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for sharing these beautiful memories and lessons. Любовь побеждает. Респект вам из Канады. (Forgive my Russian, I don't ever get to use it)
