I don't know, why I could only watched this clips with tears in my eyes - this beautiful woman , one of the last real Ladies of the film industry and the world - she is gone with the wind , but never forgotten ! Her beauty and talent will be remembered forever ! 💞
Fiddle dee dee. She's the most beautiful woman on the planet and the whole world knows it. I named my only daughter Scarlett. It's the most beautiful name EVER.
BRAVO! Tribute!!! She carried GONE WITH THE WIND on her shoulders, the way ATLAS carried planet Earth. Her power was her femininity and womanliness, besides the obvious of acting craft and natural beauty. She brought English European elegance to Scarlett O'Hara, none who auditioned for the role had it. A iconic STAR.
I was so grateful to Ms. Leigh for the subtleties she brought to her performance as Scarlett O'Hara. In the hands of a lesser actress, the part could've simply devolved into a one dimensional interpretation of a purely selfish and irredeemable character. The novel was her Bible, and she prepared herself for each scene by informing herself of Scarlett's motivation and frame of mind behind the spoken dialogue. She was simply brilliant in the part.
Vivian Leigh is the most beautiful woman I have ever seen. She was also a great actress. I simply adored her. Thank you for the pleasure of viewing this.
I agree, Ms. Leigh is actually in a distant relative in my paternal English side family tree, my great grandfather a cousin of her mother Mary Gertrude; Never met her, my father had as a teen, said she was very funny and of course stunningly gorgeous. I was ten when she died, we lived in NY. Interesting to me that bipolar disorder also runs in my paternal side of the family. I did meet actress Julie Christie, out here in Santa Monica, CA, in 2003, I would say Ms.Christie would qualify for the second most beautiful actress of the twentieth century.
She was a very rare beauty who had a sweet little girl smile. I loved the parts where she is with Lawrence Olivier. The way he looks at her and his body language is so touching. Thanks so much for this beautiful tribute to her.
GREAT tribute!!! Today, July 8th, 2017, is the 50th anniversary of Vivien's death. Such a great loss of a great beauty and a GREAT actress. She was only 53 when she died.
@@bluecolor1600 Your sentiments are admirable indeed, and your appreciation of Vivien very evident. However, even Monique has noted the resemblance between Vivien and Hedy. But in essence Vivien is truly unique and very special.
Thank you so very much for this Monique. I've just cried the whole way through. I've loved Vivien for so many years (I'm 44). The love Olivier and she shared was incredible. I'm upset that she was robbed of her life. She really for me personally, was the most beautiful and complex woman of her time. So fragile, yet so determined.
A wonderful tribute to a remarkable woman and fantastic actress. Thank you very much for this homage to one of the classic stars of stage and screen! Brava!
Vivien Leigh, The Best Actrees and The Most Beautiful in history! Always in my Heart! I adore her and I admire with all my Heart! What a very brave woman! She shines for herself!
She was an accomplished Hollywood actress and won two Oscars in 1940 and in 1952. But the India born Vivien Leigh would be forever remember for her role as the vivacious spoilt Southern belle Scarlett O Hara in the Civil War epic "Gone With The Wind." She won the Oscar the same year she married Sir Laurence Olivier the love of her life.It was a tumultous twenty year marriage culminating in a divorce in 1961. Vivien Leigh was also an accomplished stage actress and she and Olivier toured Australia many times. Another Oscar was in 1952 for her role as Blanche de Dubious in "A Street Car Name Desired". There after Vivien Leigh Hollywood career were ups and downs. Her death in 1967 at the age of 53 shocked the world. But then Vivien is Scarlett and Scarlett is Vivien.
Vivien Leigh was ever more beautiful as she matured and aged. What a beautiful free spirit. Her neck is exceptionally beautiful. Women should hold her as an example; one can be equally beautiful when getting older.
my alltime favourite actress! She was so beautiful and what a fabulous actress she was! no one ever compares to the unforgettable Vivien Leigh! Thank you!
I first saw gone with the wind in 1968 and was stunned by the breathtaking beauty of Vivien Leigh.even towards her middle age .she was still gorgeous with that perfect face .Thank you for this wonderful video and lovely music
VIVEN WAS A BEAUTIFUL WOMAN ,I JUST LOVED HER SHE HAD A GREAT AND BEAUTIFUL SMILE..I LOVED LARRY VERY MUCH TO . LAURENCE OLIVIER I LOVED HIM IN ALL HIS MOVIES .HE WAS A VERY GOOD LOOKING MAN GOD BLESS YOU BOTH.
Gone with the wind depicted the whole gamut of human emotions and Vivien almost born for the part of Scarlet to portray them. Captivating. . But I am saddened that in all of the photographs I cannot see one where Olivier is looking at her with love in his eyes. Mostly an almost brief acknowledgement of her presence. Sorry, that’s how I see it but Vivien was just lovely and a superb actress. Together with Clarke Gable they were just magic in the film. To watch the film again would be torment, to experience those deep emotions over again, no, I’ll just live with the beautiful memory.
This is quite lovely. Thank you for the post. It's really quite challenging to come up with a list of the great screen beauties of this era...of course Vivien Leigh...Elizabeth Taylor, Hedy Lamarr, Susan Hayward, Maureen O'Hara, Ava Gardner, Lucille Ball, Katharine Hepburn, Greer Garson, Myrna Loy, Gene Tierney...all so stunning in their own, unique way.
Vivien Leigh double Oscar winner and multiple winner of The New York Film Critics Award for Best Actress is widely considered by motion picture historians and critics as the greatest actress in the English language of three decades 1938-1967; in addition won many acting awards on the British stage in plays and won The Broadway Tony award for best actress in 1963.
@@davidcopson5800 she was in Waterloo bridge (1937) opposite Robert Taylor , which I loved her in. Vivien Leighs been in films since 1933 , her first leading role opposite Sir Laurence Oliver who she later married in 1940. Vivien defined the word beautiful plus she was a great actress. It's a pity she dièd too young at age 53. She once said that she'd rather have a short life with Laurence, than a long life without him. Sadly she got her wish., poor thing. R.I.P. ❤
@@garypatterson9179 Agreed, as a fan I am aware of all of this. She had her 'dark side' too which Olivier struggled with, but that could be said of most couples, leave alone people in the glare of the celebrity spotlight.
I have loved Vivien since i was a young girl. Not only was she probably the most beautiful women to have ever lived but also one of, if not the greatest actress to have ever walked this earth. It's so sad that her life was so short though. As a person who finally gave up smoking after 30+ years, i blame cigarettes for taking Vivian away so young. Those things do horrible things to our bodies. Believe me, i know. The footage of the last years of her life, she looked older than she was. She only lived to be 53 but looked to be in her 60's at least. I honestly forgot she died so young until i googled her recently. So the way i see it.. If you need a reason to stop smoking, besides the fact that dying sucks.. Vivian's very short life is a perfect reason. Yes she had other problems but her rapid aging was mostly due to smoking. It's honestly one of the many reasons i finally quit. If cigarettes can do that to her, the most gorgeous woman in the world, i don't stand a chance... 😢
I pretty much agree. Smoking really did a number on a lot of the Golden age actors and actresses. My goodness, for example Clark Gable passed at 59 but looks a good ten years older. He was also a heavy smoker. Don't think the booze helped their health either. Gene Tierney had a bad case of emphysema because of cigarettes.
Why does my heart ache whenever I watch Vivien Leigh in her movies or her images? Is it because I saw her for the first time in Gone with the Wind with my late mother? Or when I watched the Waterloo Bridge, again with my beautiful mother as a teenage boy. She was the most delicately beautiful lady who ever graced the Silver screen. Her beauty is unmatched even today. Vivien ruined any chance of me finding my true love really because she set the standards for women so high, I could not find anyone who could match her in my life. She was a Goddess in human form, if ever there was one.
Beautiful tribute, Monica! Nice original footage of Vivien...and a great combination of Vivian and La Califfa. I love that song (I used it for one of my tributes). There are a few versions/covers. Thanks for uploading!
Vivien Leigh. A mais bela de todas as atrizes que já existiram na história do cinema. Também gosto muito de Hedy Lamarr, Ann Sheridan, Grace Kelly, Greta Garbo and Ava Gardner.
Thank you for posting such a touching and lovely tribute. I can hardly believe her 100th birthday will be coming this year. What exactly is the footage at 3:32 where she and Larry have both received flowers and she is off to the side of the stage? She looks as if she is wiping away tears....it nearly made me cry to see her looking so sad.
It's terribly sad to see such a beautiful star so unhappy. Vivien suffered from manic depression now renamed bipolar disorder. Although everyone who knew her said she was extremely intelligent and shárp witted. God bless her darling soul. Whát a beautiful angel you've gotten god. R.I.P ❤❤
Mesmerizing. Your choice of music to go with this footage is superb, even though it's SO sad and tragic. Are you working on another video for the 100th Anniversary? You're very talented.
Ależ ona była piękna!.. prawdziwa uroda!..Dzisiejsze aktorki to tylko botoks i operacje plastyczne . Prawdziwa królowa kina , zawsze pozostanie w pamięci 💝💝💝💝💝
Very good video. Vivien is awesome. I also have a Vivien video for her Brithday. Check it out:) Oh and also went to the Gateway to the Wind convention this past weekend. So cool:)
I always thought Vivien and Hedy looked a lot alike and since they were both at MGM they should have played sisters in a movie. Too bad it never happened. I love Hedy too.
@@georgelong9782 Well, some sources say Hedy was born in 1914 but it is hard to be sure of these things. I wish too that someone had come up with a screenplay where they could have been sisters. No two more beautiful and glamorous sisters would have been seen.
