McGuinness and Adams were at least agents of influence the Brits knew they could do business with rather than risk them being killed and more hardline military men coming to the front. I think these years later that much is obvious
Seamus as I have already said to you when I met you for the first time at the protest in the town centre let people know of you're loss and you're own history,,NEVER GIVE UP you made you're family and Michael's friends proud of yourself
Whilst a very well practised and articulated version of events and as usual the Republican narrative tries to present their terrorist actions as legitimate, the IRA in all it's guises have proven their inability over decades to win any "long war", with a far more superior and wiley enemy. The IRA chose to go to "war", but they only every wanted to engage by their rules. Spy or not, a terrorist is a terrorist, is a terrorist and whilst I don't advocate such underhand behaviours as transpired through years of conflict, unfortunately, Republican choice of murder, mayhem and destruction, was their choice, not those that they like to identify as their enemies.
irish people didnt "choose " to be murdered , imprisoned or beaten off their own streets by a terrorist police force the r.u.c. / british army / udr or loyalist murder gangs shooting innocent people at random in collusion with state forces . dont invade a country or terrorise its people there would never have been a war .
