Most places pay 15 an hour starting now. Their wages aren't special, and their benefits aren't that great. I moved from in-n-out to a local grocery store chain because they paid more, had better benefits, and the work was easier, the hours more flexible and the uniform is wayyy less strict.
Here in Socal - In and Out is still the only chain that offers a cheeseburger meal - including drinks and fries - for under $10. If they can hold that line and set prices under industry inflation then the future is bright
@@joec.5009 If you've overindulged in dick's try going for a smaller size for a while and you won't get tired of it so fast. Or you could take a break from dick's. After some time you'll be ready to take more dick's again.
I know a lot of people think its overrated burger, and in some ways it is for some of the hype. But when you look at the burger, the price point, and the quality. Its a really really good burger at a really good price. It's always consistent no matter what. That's why I really like it.
Every time I eat in-n-out I get sick food there honestly isn't good enough to eat there all the time it's good for eating maybe once a month it really is over rated
I’m from New York. The first thing I did when I stepped off the plane at LAX was get in my rental car and drive to the In-N-Out Burger directly behind the runway and watch planes land while eating there for the first time.
I grew up right there in that neighborhood, Westchester, where the airport is and the In N Out. When I was a kid the closest In n Out was out in the valley or Pasadena. I drove a delivery truck for an electrical contractor when I was 19 yrs old and my route took me by a couple locations and I would always have lunch at one. The location at LAX was built in the early or mid 2000 and from what I've heard that is the busiest In N Out location of them all. Here's a piece of In N Out trivia that is fairly unknown. I moved to North Bay Area of San Francisco over the Golden Gate Bridge about 15 minute drive in what is Marin County. Marin is known for it beauty, Redwood forests, quaint small cities and vast amount of wealth. Many very wealthy tech, musicians, actors, sports figures, it's one of the most expensive places to live in the country. I lived there for 11 years and my mom and sisters and nephew and niece live there. Well, the city of Paradise, adjacent to Mill Valley allowed In N Out to open a store there and everyone was going crazy in anticipation for the opening. Now, the people that live in Marin are like old hippies who became wealthy, they live in a bubble of crime free, living in the woods hiking, biking, eating granola and voting Democrat. It is ultra white bread place to live. So In N Out gets built. Then the city tells them they can't have a drive thru because it is too unsightly and the traffic won't be good. So, In N Out has a drive thru window and driveway and is all set up for a drive thru but they aren't allowed to use it. So there is one location without a drive thru. A company built on the concept of a drive thru and their first dozen or so location don't even have indoor dining only a small box of a building and double drive thru windows. Of course now after they opened without a drive thru the people who live in Marin County complain about the lines being too long inside when ordering. Stupid people. That's why I moved back to LA.
I live in los angeles, and have been eating in n out for as long as i can remember. I have so many family members, and it makes me so happy when they eat innout for the first time for some reason. never have one of them companied about the taste or anything. also everytime i fly back from el salvador after a vacation my family always stops at the innout near LAX to eat
@@gigglybeast somewhere in between fast food and fast-casual. Worth it if it has to be gatekept to the west coast, but nothing that can’t be replicated closer to home that would be of any significance. 7/10 if you’re from out of town, if you’ve never had it before you’ll have it maybe two, three times tops during your trip. I always go there at least once when I’m in LA, but I’ve only been to the particular restaurant I mentioned in original comment the first time I ever went there because I’ve seen pictures from there and thought it looked cool to see planes land while eating burgers.
Former INO guy here, According to our regional manager, the Company doesn't have debt. Never has. This is why they have exponential growth. It's all cashflow reinvestment.
I was born and raised in San Diego all my life. I can confidently say that In-N-Out's food and service quality has stayed consistently great and that I regularly go there a lot!
It’s not consistent. I had it in Los Angeles and it was good. I had it in Arizona and the burger resembled a fat lettuce sandwich with a super thin patty. And the lettuce looked a little old. It was a little shocking
Same I’ve lived in sandiego for 5 years and my sister currently works there and loves it, although I lived in Japan for 6 years on and off so that was tough going without it for that long😂
I was born in San Diego! My family lives in AZ and still in Cali. I still never seen a terrible In-N-Out! Even the Texas location was busy, clean, and top tier. I hope they open in Minnesota 😂
Ayyyy fellow San Diegans! I have an In n Out 5 minutes where I work, the first guy to go to lunch in my depwrtment when he wants In n Out I pay for his lunch to bring me some as well. Best investment especially when I'm super slammed
When I was stationed on 32nd street, I used to hit up that one in Chula Vista on the Mile of Cars . My car battery died in the parking lot once, even….thankfully it was a slow night so the tow truck could get in haha
I once wound up on a flight sitting next to the Regional Manager for In-N-Out's NorCal Division and got to pick her brain for two hours. What blew me away was all the other ways they take care of their staff. If an employee is going to college it's mandated their schedule's accomidte thier classes. Holiday/spacial occasion bonuses/celebrations were comon. EVERY member of the company started out flipping burgers (she began as a fry cook in '88). The list went on. As a San Diegan who travels frequently for work I've eaten at almost every "cult burger chain" in the US. Nothing else even comes close. In thousands of vists, In-N-Out ALWAYS delivers.
In N Out is probably the closest modern thing to the original McDonalds. Minimal variety, maximum speed, prioritized quality. Corporate McDonalds strayed from that business model and now calling McDonalds "quality" is a joke.
Living in California all my life, In-N-Out has been a part of my culinary delights for decades. We cannot say enough about it. We’ve done several videos on our channel praising In-N-Out about the quality of their food and restaurants. And yes, I love the Animal-Style Double Double Burger.
There’s an in n out by the airport we always stop by and my dad was returning from my grandma’s funeral. We stopped there to pick him up. Just in the parking lot. Didn’t even buy burgers. Our car stalled and I went into the in n out for help. 5 employees came out and pushed our car to have it jump started for us. We had a big ass mini van too. I’ll never forget their kindness and empathy. Long live in n out. Five guys deserves the grave
I was in Denver transporting a vehicle in Dec 2020 when they just opened 2 In-N-Outs. I've been to a couple just after opening when they import employees and managers to get each location running effectively. About a week after I went, they had a massive Covid outbreak there. Just missed it...
I live in the Midwest, have spent some time in Utah and Nevada. Have been to In-N-Out probably ten times. One word fantastic! You could go to your average McDonald's or Wendy's and find five employees. Everytime I went to In-N-Out , 15 employees on average.
I love In-n-Out, but I was excited to try Five Guys…. Major disappointment! I thought bad day. Tried a different one. Same high prices and mediocre quality.
I worked there years ago, but to this day it is still my favorite job. What I liked was when I walked in I KNEW what my position was for my shift and I was well trained on it too. I also got lucky and had a store manager who was willing to not only call me out on my youthful angst about certain jobs, but also show me up and shut me up. One time he told me to do something I thought wasn't possible, told him, and in response he did it faster than he was asking me to do it proving that it wasn't excessive I just needed to get better. That was the moment I respected the hell out of him. I was lucky/unlucky that our district manager lived less than a mile away so he'd often (and randomly) show up at the store. One of his speeches he was telling the newest hires really stuck with me and changed me attitude (at work at least), I won't repeat the whole thing here, but it basically boils down to "a smile is part of your uniform and we pay you more than the managers get paid at the Carl's Jr. across the street. If you can't or won't smile, then leave now and work across the street."
My wife and I will celebrate our 60th wedding anniversary June 5th. Our first apartment was near the first IN-N-OUT in Baldwin Park. My wife belongs to a book club and just gave her book report on the history of IN-N-OUT. Everybody loved all the things they never knew about the worlds greatest burger. We are both pushing 80 years old and trying to live long enough to see an IN-N-OUT in our town. Theres a great spot available next to the freeway and Walmart. Please come to Cedar City, Utah.😊
Small world. I spent the first part of my childhood in the Baldwin Park area. I wish I remember the address, but it was this shabby little trailer park next to a car wash over on Grand. I remember the Albertsons being a few blocks north. I’m pretty sure it was within walking distance. The In N OUt was just a few blocks up the road. One of the few memories from childhood that is positive. Here I am at 31. I live in the Northwest on the water. I own properties. Have my own company i started from the ground up that is worth a small fortune. And I did it with literally nothing but hard work and the want for better. But In N Out still holds a special place to me. Because when I was a kid not only was it a good burger. but it was the great equalizer. My family could barely afford the necessities and I remember times we simply just went without here and there. But In N Out was something everyone could afford. Didn’t matter if they were a millionaire. Or a little family who literally had nothing who this might be their only treat for a very long time. Everyone could do it and more than even the quality I think that is why people like me defend it so much. My wife is from just across the boarder in Canada and her family moved there from Japan when she was 14. So she had never experienced it. I took her with me when I flew to LA for something with my work. And the first place we went was to the In N Out right there behind the airport runways. She said when I got my food she got it finally I guess I lit up like a big kid because it brought so many good memories back. I could just be happy and not stressed about life and work and all that madness for a little bit. And on our way out I saw a guy asking people for a couple bucks so he could just get a burger. I stopped and asked him did he really just want the burger and he said yeah. So against my wife’s better judgement we went in with him and I told the girl behind the counter get him what ever she wanted. She looked at me like I was nuts and I just told her the day I see someone who can’t even have something as simple as a good meal at a good price that’s the day I want off this planet. He was grateful for it. And it cost so little that it was not even a drop in the bucket to me. But to him that will be a happy memory he can have with In N Out like I have. We got to our hotel and she just gave me a big hug and looks at me and goes “I get it now. Its not just the food for you. It is the reminder to always value things for more than just money sake.” I’m glad she got it. My kids will never go without. They’ll never have to see what I did as a kid. But I want to make sure they always understand the little things in life like this. Sorry not even sure why I’m writing all this. Your comment just sort of brought back memories in a really positive way. Congrats on 60 years sir. That is a wonderful thing to hear in this crazy messed up world and should truly be respected and celebrated. I too hope you get one in your town soon. They are opening one in Ridgefield, WA which is only a couple of hours from me or a 30 minute flight to Portland and a trip across the river. I’m excited for it. Keep going strong
I live in Florida but I was in Austin last month and I had In-N-Out for the first time. It was 3pm on a Sunday, the place was packed, and the drive thru was wrapped around the building twice. It was by far the best fast food meal I've ever had. I would be THRILLED if they opened one near me. It is just that good.
I’m from West coast but now in FL, it’s gonna be a long time before they come here. Desantis tried to entice them to expand here during COVID but it didn’t happen so it seem like a pipe dream for at least the next decade
@@SIoyvenheaven1T800m101That may be true. I can't say, having never had a Five Guys burger. But I can say that a Five Guys basic hamburger at $10-12 is a bit out of reason. I don't care how much crap you can load on it. In-N-Out is definitely a better value at less than half the price.
They built a location almost an hour drive from me, and their drive-thru is still fairly busy. I went there in 2021 and went in to order, and I waited about 40 minutes for my food.
I currently work at In-and-Out and have worked at many Fast Food and Sit Down Places in the past and while I still don't like this line of work, I can guarantee that In-And-Out is the cleanest place you will ever eat at. Our rules are so strict you would think its Nazi Germany. But the pay is great so I can't complain.
Agree on keeping the place clean. The one I ate at today, a guy was cleaning up outside the building, even in the grass. Later inside. No rubbish to be seen anywhere.
I love how clean In-N-Out is. I hate when I go to other places and they have tables that look like they haven't been tended to in a long time. I love when restaurants take pride in cleanliness and making great food.
Culvers and In-N-Out are THE two fast food chains that you can tell the employees enjoy being there AND every location always has at least a dozen employees on staff during business hours. I have never been to either where they are suffering a "short staffed" shift which is usually the biggest reason for slow service at the other major chains.
In regards to Culvers I have to say that the service was excellent. But I wasn't thrilled about the quality of the food. Except for the shakes. They are TOP NOTCH!
@SimuLord never seen an in n out employee doing nothing lol... they are always busy doing something. Cleaning, prepping, taking orders, etc. That's why their place is so clean and organized.
I grew up near Eureka, CA and that city finally got an In-N-Out a few years ago. Before that, it was always a staple of road trips since the nearest one was several hours south in Santa Rosa, so we would always eat there on our way to the bay area.
@@davidberchtold3859 I doubt that! I fully suspect SOMEONE to open a Little Canada strip mall soon enough with Timmy's, Harvey's, Swiss Chalet, Second Cup. After all LA is apparently Canada's 3rd largest city when you count the ex-pat community...
Great video. As an In-N-Out enthusiast, you made every point that I’ve made in defending the greatness of In-N-Out. Whether you’re in a store in LA or Dallas it’s consistent, great quality and simple. No need for gimmicks.
@luke5100Expectations isn’t the problem, it’s the lack of taste and awful fries. The value, freshness, and quality are excellent, but taste is what matters most when it comes to food.
In N Out catered my wedding. To say I’m a fan is an understatement. But the quality is always constantly the best. They are easily the best fast food burger and so cheap.
I had a supervisor at my old dispensary job 6 years ago. While working at the dispensary, he also worked as a manager at In-n-Out... for 10 years. He worked 60 - 70 hrs a week between both jobs until the dispensary offered him management role, and then he finally quit In-N-Out after 12 years. He said they were really good to him and threw him a party when he quit.
As a current employee/subscriber, been waiting for this video!! Love all the points you brought up, and completely agree with it being a great place to work!
The Virgin Five Guys: “wE nEeD to MaKe oUr bUrgErs CoSt $30 cUz wAgEssss” The Chad In n Out: “We pay our employees between $20-$24 hourly and a burger and fries are still $5”
In N Out is very popular in the southwest region! Here in Texas, their lines are very fast, that even they offer takeouts for community colleges, and even some high schools are having their burgers during lunch after the standardized testing!
the idaho in-n-out has gotten so much flack because everyone thinks they’re “overrated” but it’s been months and it still takes at least half an hour to get through the drive thru. people love to pretend they hate popular things
McDonald's and every other crappy things are packed with people all over the world despite multiple locations in the same areas, doesn't really mean anything.
And to think McDonald’s wants to go full automation due to their temper tantrum over min. wage going up. 🤦🏻♀️ they will never take note and will eventually wonder why their sales are in the dirt.
Best thing about In-N-Out is the prices. My gf and I (we're both from California, but she lived there longer before moving so she LOVES In-N-Out) go to In-N-Out all the time when we don't wanna cook. We can get 2 Double-Doubles, A cheeseburger, medium pink lemonade, and fries for something like $22-$24 bucks. Sometimes she'll get a shake and it's still under $30. It's actually a lot of food for the price (for fast food). It's actually cheaper than Wendy's, McDonald's, Raising Canes, AND Subway order if you aren't using coupons. They're just great and even when they are busy it's not as bad as waiting in a busy McDonald's line.
I agree with it being NOW cheaper than McDonald’s and Wendy’s etc. this is why every time we get fast food it’s always in n out. Can’t beat their quality and price for what you get.
The fact we are referencing fast food and the priceing is 30 dollars for 2 people is fucking wild...this isnt gourmet food, its supposed to be a belly filler for 5 or 10 bucks...we live in a joke economy
I moved away from Cali years ago and finally have in n out coming to my area in the next year. Not complaining. People can call it overrated and sure, there is some truth to that, but for me its mostly nostalgia. Nostalgia aside, their patties are never frozen, their fries/potatoes are chopped in the drive thru window. Its a fresh burger/meal, the price is reasonable, the quality is consistent across all locations. They deserve props, because most other fast food places fail in at least one of those.
@@SimuLord their fries are one of my favorite things about them lol. I get two orders of fries when I go. They're generally crispier for me than mcdonalds fries which are often cold, mushy, and bland. You could try adding salt to the in n out fries.. they generally include extra salt packets.
Cali? Something tells me you never lived out here. Notice all the other posts say SoCal, NorCal, San Diego, California. No one uses that term unless they are trying to be “dope”.
Absolutely love In & Out Burger... Grew up in So Cal, and the original one was just around the corner from my great grandmother's house in Baldwin Park. During my years in middle school & high school, the big treat for everyone was when the In & Out truck would be on campus for special occasions. Everyone, both staff & students alike would line up to get their hands on some burgers, fries & a shake. In & Out made a truckload of cash those days & this video brings back some very fond memories.
My first job was at In N Out and I was with them for nearly ten years. It’s a great company to be a part of and I have nothing but good things to say about my time with them.
I lived in California for 16 years and loved em. Now I live in Tennessee and they're opening their first store in Franklin near Nashville. They have the most interesting fries, a texture you don't see elsewhere. You can get em well cooked and they're nice and crispy.
@@juliuscaesart My guess is no. The first is going to be by their corporate office (idk if also a paddy processing plant) but it'll probably be on the border between commercial and industrial districts.
"They have the most interesting fries, a texture you don't see elsewhere." That's what you get when you use potatoes that are peeled and cut just before they fry them up for your order. Other places use pre-cut frozen potatoes that have been processed and had who knows what else added to them to make them "perfect" and "uniform".
@@Calipeixegato now if only they would stop cooking them like a frozen fry and cooking it like you would fresh fries they would really be on to something.
It grew on me. I first moved to California 14 years ago. I went immediately, didn’t care for it. Now, it’s my favorite spot. Consistently a great burger for a good price. Fries are still just okay. Their strawberry shake is absolutely wonderful!
U can never go wrong enjoying some In-n-out in the sun while watching planes land just outside the fence at LAX runway 24R. Great variety of aircraft types too
I’ve lived on the East Coast (Atlanta) my whole life, but I’ve had In-N-Out probably ten times before… With the exception of Chic-Fil-A, all other fast food restaurants are shameful compared to In-N-Out. It’s so delicious, I would kill for one here in Georgia.
As a native socaler I grew up on this burger. Nothing beats one of those tiny In-N-Outs that is just a shack with 2 drive thru lanes. Those kids working there are champions
In-N-Out deserves to be located around the world. The lines are always long and their food is always good. When I went to America in 2023, having In-N-Out was like a dream.
What I appreciate about In-N-Out is that you can tell they put a lot of stock into training their employees because they're always so great. I'm 32 and have been going there my entire life and am not exaggerating when I say that an In N Out has only ever messed up my order ONE TIME.
In-N-Out is the GOLD standard for fast food burgers. Amazing food, excellent service, and very reasonable pricing. As a bonus, the staff are treated and paid well.
Holy shit are you telling me that if you treat your employees like actual humans and offer livable wages and good benefits that they will be much happier and the customers will also leave happier? Nahhhh, that's impossible
former in n out employee- the quality is real. again, like Company Man said, i’m not trying to sound like a commercial but it’s true that every morning every single store has ingredients shipped by truck form the warehouse, and the morning shift employees have to handwash and handcut all tomatoes and lettuce and potatoes etc. it really is as fresh as any fast food gets and even more than most restaurants!
Excellent Burgers! Fresh, never processed ingredents, always cooked fresh, fries cut freah for each order, no pre frozen fries. No overbearing oil taste on fries because each & every fry batch has fresh oil. Only place I buy my burgers 10 star rating!!❤❤❤😊😊😊
The food is delicious. The menu is simple. Plus, I love the retro California vibe the company has. So excited we might get one in Clark County in Washington State. We’re going to get one before Portland or Seattle!
Grew up walking dostance from an In N Out and Tommys. While I love In N Out, Tommys is just my jam. Since I moved out of state, I'm glad they opened an In N Out near my house. I just need a Tommys, now.
I remember going on roadtrips with my family and being SUPER excited to stop at the in n out in Redding (which was the northernmost one for a while). I’ve since moved to LA, but I still go to in n out pretty regularly
I love In-N-Out, but the only thing that keeps me from regularly eating there is the wait times. There are some drive-thrus that can take 20-30 mins to get through. The one closest to me has fortunately kept their pace pretty consistent to 10 mins, but it's also a 20 min drive away. I typically will only go if I'm in the area already or craving specifically their food. Due to the infrequent visits, I'll get both an animal style burger, but also get their animal style fries.
How about you get out of your car and go into the place in person when you get there? Has that thought ever crossed your mind before? The wait times are much shorter inside usually.
Another thing about why people seem happier working there, they have great old fashion uniforms, you can’t take pride working at another fast food restaurant with their thin see through cheap polos. However you can take pride being and in and out worker with such a fresh uniform and presentation and demeanor. Like a fancy bellhop, just extravagant
In September to October 2008, I had In N Out 45 consecutive days. The order was a 4x2, Animal Style fries, and an extra large Dr. Pepper, $9.95. I knew I was moving from Burbank at the end of October so I made the most of living 4 blocks away from an In N Out.
OMG!! Thank you In & Out! My favorite…I actually ask for gift cards to this heavenly place for Xmas and my Birthday!! I do regulate by visits to one a week and that’s hard to do!!
I'm 81 yrs old, In 1960, Foothill Blvd Pasadena, my first experience with INO, live in Sacramento now, local in-n-out is about 6 blocks from my home, I still eat there. Just like that Foothill Blvd in-n-out, there is always a line here of hungry customers - Must be some reason for that! Keep on cooking Lindsy, I'm still one of your customers.
You might think their burgers are nothing special and you are correct, they are not some world changing burger. But when you consider one of their burgers compared to any other fast food chain burger, McDonalds, Wendy's, Burger King, etc... there is no conparison in freshness, visually they are far superior to the slop smashed thrown together things served by the other chains. In N Out wins by far.
In n out isn't gourmet style restaurant or pub style burgers. It's fast food. The quality, freshness, extremely friendly service and doing so consistently at all locations can't be beat. Their actual burger looks just like what you see in their commercials.
In-N-Out burger is one of those cases where the food actually is good, but is definitely cartoonishly blown out of proportion. I can't tell you the number of people from out of state I've seen give me looks of disappointment after the years of massive hype they've heard about the place before finally trying it, usually them telling me something along the lines of "hey it's good but that is not the best burger ever at all, I don't understand why this place was so hyped." At the moment their biggest positive is how cheap their prices are compared to all their competitors.
I went to In-N-Out Burger for the first time only a few months ago during a trip to California and I was impressed with the food, although the lines were absolutely insane. Fortunately they are pretty quick..
Having grown up in Southern California I am very familiar with in and out. One of the number one things is every time you get a double double and fries it is exactly the same way every single time- Delicious. No matter which In-N-Out you go to? It is exactly the same. In and out maintains their staff by offering, better pay and better benefits, and therefore cutting their training, budget way down not having to hire new people and training them over and over again, this save tons of money.
Chick fil-a is already on the west side of the state and has been for a while. A patty making facility for in n out in or around Chicago might be enough to get them to Michigan
well if they’re opening one in nashville… lets hope for a food facility in cincinnati or indianapolis. both close enough to Nashville but will get you into michigan
I was born and raised in SoCal. Moved to Atlanta almost 10 years ago. In-N-Out is the one thing I miss and crave the most. The other burger chains out here don't even come close. The consistency and attitude of the workers is the best!
The best damn fast food chain ever because they show the truth in the statement: Keep it Simple, Stupid. The sheer power of that family having good moral standards, and discipline in business quality; makes it easy to respect them and their company.
Most overhyped Fast food place ever. Generic burgers and stale fries, yuck! Don’t fall for the hype like some people on Reddit keep saying it’s the best ever.
I wouldn't be surprised if it's all just ad posts. Reddit is obsessed with this shitty restaurant to a suspicious degree and we all know how easy it is to manipulate that garbage website
I agree that Reddit is hella lame. But if you were craving a fast food burger you’d rather go to McD, BK, Carls etc? LOL. Maybe and a huge maybe that Wendy’s have a better burger.
You want sautéed mushrooms with truffle mayo on your burger? They make simple fast food standard burgers. What sets them apart from all the other fast food chains are their quality, freshness and consistency.
I have always liked In-N-Out and several years ago we finally got one in my town in So. Cal., so I don't have to drive many miles to get one of their burgers. However, I do not eat fast food often, so I do not frequent them. I do love that they are a well ran family business.
As a retired trucker I loved stopping at them and eating and I’m glad they’re expanding into the Nashville area next year I really look forward to it!!
I have a close friend who lives in France. One visit to LA he told me he wants to try “real American food.” He’d eaten at McDonalds and Burger King - which have locations in Europe, but he’d never had an In-N-Out burger. And he went totally crazy over the Double Double, fries and shake and couldn’t get enough. He keeps hoping that they’ll open even just a pop-up store in Paris someday. But he has to come to the States for now to get his fix. The French really know a few things about food. Of course I love In-N-Out too. They’re a Southern California tradition. Maybe the next year or so, you should check out CVT Soft Serve which is expanding rapidly across the country with CVT2Go pouches that lots of supermarkets are carrying. It’s soft-serve ice cream in a pod or pouch that you just take out of your freezer and eat. CVT is also based in LA and they’re following the model set by In-N-Out. You might like it. 🙂
Great burgers, fries and shakes! My first time ever eating there was just this last October in Reno, NV. And it lived up to the hype. Customer service, cleanliness, speedy service, food quality, all were on point. Hope they come to the DC area one day.
I had In-N-Out once while out in California, and the food was delicious. While I live far away from the closest location, I applaud the company for staying within a reasonable and "doable" lane. That is, they don't want to franchise, they want restaurants close to patty-making facilities, and they want to maintain high food quality and restaurant environment. It seems quite evident that they have a loyal fan base and will continue to do well. In this sense, they don't care that they're not a national brand.
Great video! In-N-Out is my favorite burger restaurant. I was so happy when they came to the East Bay in California. We moved to Southern Oregon and we would only get to go to In-N-Out when we passed through Redding, CA on our way to visit family. I faithfully wrote In-N-Out Headquarters and begged them to come to Southern Oregon. They finally built one here in 2015. I go almost every week to get my burger fix. Their food is fresh and absolutely delicious! Their employees are the friendliest, professional and most helpful of any fast food restaurants. In-N-Out’s are always meticulously clean for an enjoyable dining experience. In-N-Out is #1 in my book! 🍔 🍟 🥤 🥰👍🏻
I'm from Illinois and I'll tell you something very interesting: co-founder Esther Snyder grew up in a very small town of Sorento, Illinois, which is about 25 miles from me. Not many of the residents even know this obscure factoid. But yeah, I dig In-N-Out when I'm in the west. Very reasonable, and tasty.
As an associate at in n out, the management is what really makes or breaks it. With good managers that do well with connecting with the associates, it can be a blast working here. I’ve run into my share of coworkers and managers that just didn’t click with me and it can get difficult at times as the work is not easy by any means. I don’t think you’ll find this type of tight-knit culture at any other fast food place though.
I lived in south Florida most of my life. Last year, I got to go all the way to California, and I LOVED In-N-Out. I got it every day I could. They were affordable (in San Diego no less), everyone was nice, I learned about how good animal style is, and I lamented us never getting one on the east coast. Now I live in Tennessee, and if they want to put one in Knoxville, well...might be a few hours' drive but it'll definitely be worth it.
Every year, they set up a single kiosk here in our country, in a single mall, for an extremely limited time. The line is legendary, which is why I've never tried it yet.
I ate at 5 Guys last week. Ordered a double cheeseburger, medium fries and a medium soft drink. $24.00 and change!!! Take your wife and 2 teenage children, you do the math. It was a good burger and tasty fries. There was no wait. In n Out down the street the drive through had 22 cars in line. Inside was packed. Been there several times, very good burger, good fries and 1/2 the price. Excellent service. The wait is well worth it.
We are probably bias, but their quality, price fairness & simple menu offering is great. We have 4 grandchildren work for In n Out; two in management. They are excellent to their employees and outstanding with respect to their customer following.
I’m a Southern California boy born in 1949. In-N-Out has always been my favorite place to get a quality burger and fries. I live in Arkansas now and my closest In-N-Out is in Texas. There’s a number of us that have talked aboutchartering a bus just to go, get a double double. I’ll be 75 this July and I hope I can get in and out again soon. By the way, the first place I stopped when I go to California for a visit which is very seldom is In-N-Out Burger.
Two things to keep in mind: the video says the original burger stand was 100 sq ft. That's the size of a small, ten by ten bedroom. Even today, their footprints are really small. I think that keeps real estate costs down. The other thing is that their pay is really good, not just what the burger flippers get paid. A manager can easily make beyond six figures a year. The same goes for the drivers of their in-house fleet of trucks.
