Relaxing, it's great to watch this while drinking a coffee with cookies 🧐

Note: This paperback has a sewn binding, but the binding is very tight.

There is a Japanese aesthetic quality known as shibui or shibusa which involves control and restraint. For example, gold embellishment for decorative purposes should not be brightly sparkling but seems to be gently shimmering as light falls on these objects and enhanced by the interplay with shade and shadow; which is discussed in the book indirectly. The effects are muted colors that change and glow subtly with how these objects are viewed in the light. I wish the book design will reflect this quality by not using glossy papers. Perhaps a matted one like washi paper but of course the price will have gone up as well. Overall, a memorable and discursive exploration on Japanese aesthetic.
