It amazes me how flawed people can change your whole perspective of an unflawed/perfect God. Interesting interview, but Ja Rule isn't telling the entire story. Disfellowshiping something that God directed the Israelites as well as Moses to do if someone in the camp was deliberately doing things that were against Gods laws. Everyone makes mistakes, so JW's will not expell everyone who makes a sin, no one is perfect. But when someone is baptized, being they completely understand their choice made decision to devote themselves and their conduct in representing godly principles, then they understand that if they WILLINGLY and without repent do the opposite in GROSS sins, (sex without marriage, adultery, murder, stealing etc.) Then THEY will be expelled. Disfellowshiping is the last option because of the hardship it puts on the person, their family, and life. Therefore the Elders will do everything in their power to redirect a person lovingly through scriptures , and correct their thinking. But in Ja Rule 's mother's situation, if her husband left her, unless she can prove that he is sleeping with someone else, she was still married. And if she had a boyfriend, was hanging with coworkers I'm sure she was doing things that were not correct if she admitting to living a double life. A double life literally means living the opposite way you should be, and she eventually said "so what" do it. Therefore she obviously was counselled numerous times and chose to do things HER WAY. 2. Ja Rule was living with his grandparents therefore if they all were in good standing there is no reason for HIM to be shunned because he did nothing wrong. But each parent has the right to choose who his kids associate with. If Ja was living a double life too possibly that could of happened. But if his Grandparents were raising him right he should of been fine. 3. Disfellowshiping happens as a discipline with the goal of the unrepentant sinner to return, and all is forgiven. If people say "you shunned me, forget you!" Then that shows how much the truth still is not in you. And it was necessary to keep the congregation clean. A humble person makes corrections and they can return with a clean conscious. Ja Rule's mother was being selfish.
