I think we're talking more about how I'm using the 5 or 6 journals/planners I have for the year and less about the nitty gritty of what's in them. I don't know if it's because I'm getting older or social media influencing me but I have the compulsion to chronicle my life...not really sure who's going to care about my random ramblings about how a particular shift was awful but hey maybe someone will find my scribbles in a charity shop long after I'm dead and find some enjoyment in reading them.

I’d be curious to know how many of those pens actually work. Speaking for myself, I know it requires a real effort of conscious will on my part NOT to put a dud pen right back in the drawer or old coffee mug where I found it. On good days, I will be able to stop myself and either pitch the defunct instrument into the garbage, or take it apart and put any constituent plastic or metal parts into an empty plastic jar or large tin can for recycling. Even so, I still have a multitude of pens which are down to their last-gasp inky dregs, but which I figure I can still squeeze a few more shopping or to do lists out of before sending them off to ballpoint Boot Hill.

I think most of these work but I can’t say the same for all the pens in and around my desk 😂
