I first listened to this years ago and still play it at Christmas every year with it bringing a tear to my eye...the most beautiful performance ever, thank you Corrinne
For many years during Christmas season, I always come back to play this video over and over. This has been one of my favorites of all time. Her voice is so soothing. And that key change is to die for! I also love how she has the lyrics written on a piece of paper on her keyboard. There's really nothing that I don't like about this video. It's pretty awesome.
This is one of the best versions of this song that I think I've ever heard sung. Two instruments, voice and keyboard--simple, crystal clear and perfect. Just lovely!!
Ever since finding this version, I too, play it every year, over and over again. I so wish Corrinne would put this as a single out on i-tunes. It would sell like mad! For now, I guess I'll just have to keep hitting "replay".
This is absolutely beautiful. In addition to her voice, Corrinne is a very talented pianist. The combination makes this a very wonderful rendition of this song -- eloquently describing the real reason that Jesus is the "Reason for the Season." That point is lost on too many of us ... in these times where money is tight maybe more people will realize this in 2008.
Gloucester Cathedral Choir with the congregation singing In the Bleak Midwinter, is so touching for it's heartfelt rendition. This solo effort by Corrinne May is just as good, just as moving. Thank you so much for sharing your excellent version with us.
Someone sent this to me today as a Christmas card. This is the "gift" I will most enjoy this Christmas. I was blown away by the purity, beauty, and emotion of this performance. Truly one of the most God-gifted singer songwriters I have ever heard.
I always get ready for Christmas listening to your "In the Bleak Midwinter". Thanks for such a beautiful rendition of the classic Christmas carol. Indeed, what can we give Him? Our hearts.
Thank you for sharing your heavenly performance! I love how your music can gracefully touch the coffee house and the theater. (Also, cudos to your videographer - The juxtaposition of "Midwinter" and LA street traffic through the background window is awesome!)
absolutely breathtaking!!! not only do you have a fabulous voice but the emotion you captured on this song is world class! i could listen to this song all day long. thank you corrinne for sharing this with us.
Lyrics: In the bleak mid-winter Frosty wind made moan; Earth stood hard as iron, Water like a stone; Snow had fallen, snow on snow, Snow on snow, In the bleak mid-winter Long ago. Our God, heaven cannot hold Him Nor earth sustain, Heaven and earth shall flee away When He comes to reign: In the bleak mid-winter A stable-place sufficed The Lord God Almighty - Jesus Christ. Enough for Him, whom Cherubim Worship night and day, A breastful of milk And a mangerful of hay; Enough for Him, whom Angels Fall down before, The ox and ass and camel Which adore. Angels and Archangels May have gathered there, Cherubim and seraphim Thronged the air; But only His Mother In her maiden bliss Worshipped the Beloved With a kiss. What can I give Him, Poor as I am? If I were a Shepherd I would bring a lamb; If I were a Wise Man I would do my part, Yet what I can I give Him, Give my heart.
My music teacher, Mr.David Gantz, introduced my class to your songs and I must say that you sing really good! In my opinion, you're an excellent songwriter as well as a singer. Other people may have different opinion, so I shall say that this is solely my opinion only. I highly doubt many would disagree with me though :3
Pure proof there is a GOD in Heaven. You are such a special little precious gift. Not much brings tears to my eyes, but you have, with this beautiful song. Thank you and GOD Bless you always Corrinne.
WOW, THAT VOICE! It's like a miracle of beauty and goodness. It seems like evidence for God regardless of its themes. I can't imagine one better. How edifying to hear it singing for the Lord. God bless Corrinne May
It's a pity I didn't find out about Corrinne earlier before she held her concerts in Singapore. If she ever comes back here to hold a concert, I'll never miss it for she has inspired me and made a difference in my life. :)
