This sounds less like a cover of the original song and more like a whole different song with the original lyrics slapped on in a *vaguely* similar tune to the original vocals, but with no reference to the original instrumental music.

Hey :) I totally accept your opinion! BUT i also need to tell you that the meaning is totally DIFFERENT in this one. Now you will ask me: "Huh, but its the same lyrics!?" - That's true, but Vocals always make 50% of the meaning. The actual meaning is filled with anger or madness or despair, However you want to take it. This one seems to be very slow filled with sadness or sad acceptance. Which is both right, but it only depends on how you sing it. So this whole text is only to make you correct a little bit that you don't actually feel the song BETTER, you feel a new meaning which is fitting your tastes for this specific song a little bit more. :) PS: I wonder how it sounds like if Chester and Mike sing thing in style of Iridescent.

I agree with you, but just a heads up - telling people to be less negative and telling them to shut the hell up in the same sentence is kinda hypocritical. Also, telling someone to sthu is probably going to make them angry at you and less inclined to do what you want. If you can omit that phrase from your vocabulary you'll be doing yourself a service :)

A cover or rework of a song has the objective of the general improvement of the original song. Traditionally this involves keeping what's already 'good' and reworking the parts that are 'bad'. People get disappointed when the 'good' parts are replaced with subpar parts, even if the 'bad' parts are now 'good'.

joshmdmd Who choose which part is the bad and which one is the good. Accly, no one. Re-working a piece, is just re-working, a re-write from another musician who can write things different, like this guys. You can change and add a lot of thing. Listen to Glenn Gould re-works from Bach pieces, there is no bad or good parts, you like it or not. Simple as that.

Though, that in itself I enjoy too. It's nice when covers make the song their own. And that's what these two have done. So, Tina.Hororka, I suppose what people dislike this cover is because it's too different from the original in their opinion. Linkin' Park's desperation or this cover's resignation, I think they're both stories that should be told with the lyrics of this song; so I like both.

If I were these singers I'd ignore any trolls because anyone offering any respectable criticism would leave something other than "my ears are bleeding life can't continue please quit singing."
