Genetics are only a piece of you. Why'll nature is ok to study trying to mass change it without any reason but productivity would be dangerous for a gene pool.
Brilliant movie, watched it many times because it has so many details in dialogs, in the background scenes and even in the lighting that you don't see the first time, but when you do later...incredible, the depth.
I truly loved this movie, I saw this movie when I was younger. It’s why I am about to graduate from university with bachelors degree in computer science. All my life because of moving, I was put in slow classes, told I was never amount to much. Spent more my 20’s just going through the motions. While having siblings who are nurses and doctors and chemist. God never gave up on me, and in the water scene mad me tear up. Because no one has the right to determine the limitations of another human being. As he told his brother he worked hard to get where he is. When I walk off that stage in May, I got there because I didn’t give up on myself. That’s the lesson I took from this movie!
You know I've watched this many times. I've always had a bit of trouble understanding Anton. I guess he really buys into what society tells him. He truly believed that Vincent was inferior so if he succeeds his world collapses. He is proven wrong when Vincent beats him swimming. So he lets it go I guess.
I think there's also a levle of protectiveness, that he thinks his brother is killing himself over this. He finally understands Vincint can atually succeed when he's beaten. Moreover there's something of "I have to be the best" in all the valids, they were born to be perfect anything less than that is falier. Who are they if not the best of the best? It's everything they have. This is more apparent in Jerome but it shoes up in Anton too. And Irene, and it's hinted at in the piano player I think
Have seen this movie, it's one of the best movie that captures the viewers perspective, feeling sad about jerome and same time happy for anton... Even though I have seen the movie but still prefer to view recap.
This is one of my favorite movies. I saw it when it came out when I was a kid. It seemed impossible to me at the time. My friend's older brother told me they could already do some of it and my mind was blown. Lol I could see a world where we are less aware and this could happen.
I don't understand the end someone please help explain! Did the spaceship blow up? Did Jerome give the hair because he knew he would die and so he wanted to fake his death? I don't understand.
real Jerome ends his own life after Vincent leaves for Titan. The ship doesn't blow up, it's just the cinematography of the fire killing Jerome mirroring the fire of the ship taking Vincent to space. Or you know, just watch the movie, it;s a really good movie
Ok so I LOVE this movie, like I love it, but I don't often see people discuss the way this movie has a difference between perceived disabilities and *atuall* disabilities, not to mention the toxic "persist till you die" mentality presented in the movie. How Vincent always pushes and pushed beyond what's safe and healthy and how that could be deadly or tragic if not properly discussed. That being said I LOVE this movie, I love it.
I remember when I first watched this I had to rewatch the movie 5 or 6 times because how confusing it was I was thinking that I had caught everything that I could second time then I realized that I missed somethings and rewatched it a couple more times before the VHS got ate by the VCR I forgot how it ended
