In the Heart of England's Cotswolds Walking in the Rain

So, today we are out and about walking in the Cotswold Village of Winson which is located in the county of Gloucestershire, England. The village is not far from the River Coln. Neighbouring villages are Ablington and also the very popular Bibury.
The parish church is St. Michael's which is central to the village and dates back to just before the mid twelfth century.
This is what you might call a progressive walk as it starts of with a tree lined trail then country lanes and then onto residential lanes to soak up the beautiful sights of Cotswold houses & cottages, all the while with the pitta-patter of rain drops on the umbrella.

What a delight to have yet another walking experience that includes so many enjoyable elements: the peaceful sound of rain; lovely country and woodland scenery; late autumn foliage; a really old and interesting looking church; a pretty village with charming homes. Nicely done! As our weather today in our area has been that rather sloppy type of precipitation that is somewhere in between rain and snow, and that lacks the peaceful properties of either of these things (though it does soak through the clothing/shoes quite quickly), this virtual walk was doubly enjoyed. : )

Thank you for another stunning video. The colours of the Autumn trees like a small dose of utter joy. The sound of the rain reminding me how much I love to hear the rain while enjoying not having to return home with sodden shoes. The tree at 1:24 is a beauty and Winson, another village I have somehow not been to, is lovely. Thank you for a few minutes of calm.

Beautiful and gentle walk in the rain.. Winson is a charming village, with pretty little roads, in this magnificent countryside!!. The beginning is very pretty in this little grassy path in the trees. The thatched roof house on the corner looks like a mushroom!!. Lots of sweetness and peace in this walk. I am curious... is this considered a wealthy neighborhood?.. the homes are quite large and elegantly landscaped.... I live in Los Angeles California, USA... homes this size in Beverly Hills and nearby would be probably 20 million dollars... I'm not kidding... xoxo thank you for the armchair travel.. It certainly would be considered wealthy for The UK and England in general but around only a bit above average for the lovely Cotswolds

Oh my absolute goodness! 20 millions dollars is so much! These house are likely nowhere near that - I would assume they are, on average, 800000 to 4M pounds which is equal to 1.01M to 5.05M dollars! 😀😃😄

Is one allowed to paint the house in this region, are there any rules about keeping the character of the neighborhood?

Hi, Themba. As I understand it, only listed buildings need permission to be painted, especially if it is for the first ever time the listed building is being painted. Although there are no hard and fast rules about keeping within the character of the neighbourhood it would be a shame to paint the external walls of a house that is built in the beautiful Cotswold stone.
