@@traciep-k5979 Fyi, they are showing most of the seasons with Amazon Prime. I pretty much watch it every other day or so to decompress from work, lol.
@@marycurry837 3 of the 5 that really made the show are. Carrell and Hugh O'Conner, Howard Rollins. The other two that are still alive were Parker and Luanne.
I laugh so much when Chief Gillespie talked about Bubba's white socks. And I love Chief Gillespie's out spoken speeches and facial expressions. And most definitely his romance with Harriet DeLong.
@@FrankiesFancy "Harriet Delong" actress wrote a few episodes under the mentorship of Carroll O'connor. Just b/c she didn't like the direction her character went, doesn't mean she didnt like Carroll. She attended Carroll's funeral.
In 1981 I was offered a job as a police officer in Covington, when my enlistment was up. I have kicked myself a lot for not taking that job. It was a nice little town. Thanks Chris Barlow and family.
Martez Maze instill watch in the heat of the night I was lythonia GA vin 2015 visiting my cousin and I went to Covington to see were they film the show it was. exciting to were the film it
I'm old enough to remember and seeing Sidney poitier and others in the original movie in the heat of the night never thought a t.v. version would come along just as good
I must admit I just discovered this underrated series through reruns on late at night! ( it’s great for insomnia!) Carroll O’Conner was a huge civil rights advocate and a truly great human being. The episodes all address issues that have social relevance and the actors really did a great job handling sensitive subjects like incest and the death penalty. Glad I stumbled across it!
what i loved about in the heat of the night was -- the show was clean, relaxing, edging, family sharing, somthing you wouldnt be scared to set down with the paster and watch -- the scripts was well verse i think and landed on many subjected that needed to be thought about -- and it got on subjects that kids needs to learn about today , like on respect helping others keep all safe religion school goals and many other things-- i really loved this show very much and wish more would be made...
And could fit a pair of jeans nicely, damn 😉💙!!!!!! Smokin hot 🔥🔥💋🔥🔥🔥🔥!!!!!!! And don't forget he can sing also, like his late father Gene Autry!!!! Take care of yourself and your family during this coronovirus pandemic 😷 ok. Peace out from Bunn NC . Enjoy the Fourth of July ok 🎇🎆🎇🎆🎆🎇🎇👍😁. Much love ok!!!
I loved that show. Always will.❤ Loved the cast especially Alan. ❤We need more shows and casts like this now. Love all of you and sure miss those no longer with us. Thanks for great memories. R.I.P. Mr. O'Conner; Hugh; Harold.
Absolute best show! It truly does make you want ro live in a town like this. I am originally from Conyers, Ga which is where much of the filming took place at the time I had started college. I remember one time I was back for the weekend and was working out at the only gym in Conyers at the time and Alan Autry, "Bubba" came in to work out too. I was doing some kind of modified bicep curl exercise and he came over to ask me what it was. Anyhow, from there we worked out together. Super nice guy. At the time I didn't know who he was. Also, my brother worked as a production assistant for the show early on. I miss those folks, but still watch re-runs.
Bubba (Alan Autry) is STILL FINE ..... I really loved this show as a young girl. All fabulous Actors ... amazing quality production. Brings tears to my eyes to see them all looking so well and happy! Watching in 2020.
This is my favorite show!!! I watch it every day, I Love the filming of the clay roads, the town and the big clock. The cast was awesome!!! This show, always put me in a Georgia state of mind, although I'm in New York.
Am binge watching it on Amazon prime. Started with season one. However there were a few episodes missing. When I get to the end, this will make like the 4th time since it went off air i have watched it from first episode to last
I love In the heat of the night! It's aired daily on WGN network, and Sundays on the THIS network. I went to high school with an actor namedJeff Hochendonner who played a senior football player, who killed someone. I've watched the re runs so much, I can practically recite the dialouge...
Just got antenna in July and discovered it's on every morning for a couple of hours. Until a couple of weeks ago it was on all day but now they started showing movies starting 10AM but from 8 AM till 10AM you can still watch it. Maybe even earlier but I'm not up.
I started watching in the Heat of the Night when I got pregnant with my last kid in 2009 been watch ever since. My aunt loved this show when I was growing up.
This was a show that deserved all the accolades it received and continues to receive. When the program actually ran I never watched it, believing wrongly it turns out, that a TV spinoff from that great film couldn’t possibly be any good. Now, watching the reruns on Amazon Prime I find an excellent series, well written and well acted and I can easily see why it has such a great following it was just a superior TV series on every level and deserved all the popularity it achieved.
Yes, I still laugh when I remember Bubba's white socks! That's the Michael Jackson look!!! Gillespie always had funny comments. I still💘 love Bubba!! Still watch the show. Alan is such a good actor. I wish I had a man like him in my life.
When my GF calls me, sometimes I'll answer the phone with "yeah what" 😁. Tried to get all seasons on DVD, never could find them all together in proper order. Any ideas?
I love this show soooo much.....It will never get boring to me.....My favorite saying from Aunt Etta (Virgil Tibbs aunt) when she said someone told another person if you come in my yard again unannounced, “Ima Blow Your Damn Head Off” the way she said it sounded so accurate....but honestly a great show and I watch it all the time via WGN America
W S, Geoffrey Throne said on a podcast that he hated acting. He is a writer and has won awards for his writing. I remember two shows he wrote for, One is from the Star Trek franchise and Leverage.
Shows like this are often even more beloved 20 or 30 or 40 years on. There’s a lot of nostalgia wrapped up in “In The Heat of the Night” for a lot of us…memories of being with our grandparents and spending an hour in Sparta. Good times.
I remember my mama watching this show when I was little and when I got a little older we loved watching it together. Now that she is gone I still love to watch it. I feel like she is still sitting next to me watching with me. We both loved Chief Gillespe.
One of the best and under rated shows of all time. Watching the series nowadays on METV. The acting was terrific and very heartfelt. The writing was as good as it gets for any TV show and they had the courage to address some serious topics at that time that are actually still very relevant in 2020.
I watched this show with my dad in high school and watch it now in re-runs when ever I can. This was the end of truly great TV. I live in Fresno Ca I use to see Alan at the Gym a lot then on tv as our Mayor.
From day ONE until TODAY this is and will always be one of, if not my absolute favorite police show. There will never be another to match it's magic. And one of my favorite things is when ever Bill (Carrol) would answer his phone and say "YEAH WHAT?!!!" that just made my day!!!!! LoL
In The Heat of The Night was a great show. I still watch the reruns. The greatest thing to me about the show was that it was the first police drama that didn’t portray southern law enforcement as a bunch of uneducated idiots.
YEAH. THATS MY FAVORITE SHOW. I LIKE THE CHARACTERS IN THE. SHOW SPECIALY BUBBA HES THE HUNK OF THE SHOW AND CARROL OCONNERS SON HE WZ CUTE TOO HE WOULD STILL B HERE IF HE WOULD LEAVE THEM DAMMM DRUGS ALONE. DEG
In 1988, in the episode “Flowers from a Lady” My wife, Denise had a walk on part where she and a male friend were walking together down the sidewalk toward Chief Galespie and his (black) District Attorney girlfriend were coming toward them. Denise was told to snub them when Chief Galespie said good morning to her. Denise did a great job. I had a part as a man walking across the park behind the scene. We both loved having a part in one of the best sitcoms ever on television. We continue to watch the reruns and hope they never end.
+SPM well what to you know. Sonny I don't know his last name. he played Enos from the Dukes of Hazzard made a guest appearance on in the heat of the night.
