@@Takbiirallahakbar it just might not be your thing, doesn’t mean you have to call it “doodoo”. personally i think its a really good musical with a developed storyline
You can watch this one: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Kj4QuCqRXug.htmlsi=hB1vH4zOFSXyr49d It’s a high school performance but it’s the best performance I’ve ever seen. I actually saw this one live back in 2014. They got the original set from broadway too and the actors and band are professionals even though they are high schoolers. Trust me it’s the closest thing to the broadway one.
God the first time I heard Usnavi with other high school productions I figured out that this must be Lin's or Lin must have starred in it. Lin has this style, something that I can't explain, but when you hear the songs he sang being sung by others, you will instantly know that Lin either sung it or wrote it.
I watched the movie and the whole time it just had Lin Manuel Miranda written all over it. He has a unique style of composing and putting lyrics together. And knowing now that he originally played Usnavi makes it even more fitting that he chose Anthony Ramos as the movie Usnavi because he matches Lin's rapping style so perfectly.
This was my very first musical movie, In the Heights i have to say, was a wonderful movie. I am usually a pessimist who likes dark movies, but this film had a lot of hope, love, and flavor. It had a sensibility that literally made me cry. It was vulnerable. The same day after watching it? My friend and I went to Washington Heights. Viva Fort Tryon Park! :) Summer 2021!
