Watch In the Line of Duty: Manhunt in the Dakotas (1991) on ‪@Films4You‬
Gordon Kahl is man who feels that the U.S. government doesn't care about the American farmer, so he retaliates by not paying taxes. He would be sent to prison and upon being released, his views have not changed. He encourages anyone who is having trouble not to pay taxes. He also joins a paramilitary and a white supremacy group. When the FBI learns of this, they try to arrest Kahl but Kahl, armed, doesn't want to go, and when the Feds don't let him go, he kills most of them. He then goes on the run and it's up to the FBI agent to headed the operation to find Kahl, and anyone else who may have been involved.

How relevant the theme of this movie is in the current day and age is unbelievable. I do not agree to what Gordon did, but I do understand it. We have a very similar situation in all of the western worlds where governments are doing their utmost to aggrevate the local people! And this may very well end like the scenario in this movie!

My property taxes are ruining what’s left of my life. The minimum SS and thats it. I own this really old doublewide on 2 acres and it’s perfect for my needs because I care for a variety of critters. Mainly I live off food bank food and supplements so that part of my life is no fun anymore except maybe the challenge of it. When your life evolves and you get pushed out of the loop it’s just sort of degrading…unless you can learn not to care anymore. No wonder the old and dying are just pretty much ready to meet their maker and say good bye to the lost dreams and struggle

It wasn’t the seniors the government did this to. It was over taxation to the American farmers. Of all ages. Bad weather for years and poor crop prices cost thousands of farmers their homes and land they had for generations. The government still wanted their property taxes. I was alive to see this. I come from a cattle ranch and watched neighbors lose everything

Both of you have no idea. Rod Steiger was so one dimensional as an actor he might as well have played in Steven Segal movies. In every movie he screams his fat face off at some point. The critics think this screaming and yelling is intense acting and gave the screaming idiot an Oscar. Oh man! Go look at some past movies. All the same. Like watching a Chuck Norris movie. Seen one you've seen em all.

This movie was a great movie and rod. Stagger did a great job but it proves once again how the authorities overdo. It sometimes like they didn't Waco and like apparently did it here. Grand standing seems to be the strategy and it might be a good strategy to let people know. Not the figure around with the government period But it's a waste of resources that could be used for other things and still get the perpetrators that you're concerned about. As jimmy dranny used to say everybody wants to get in the act. During the Biden administration, the average American citizen no longer trust the c. IA the Justice departmand those who work for the President of the United States, which happens to be Joe Biden, who in front and center, has sold out this country to China. And maybe Russia with impunity.

The ending is poetic licence. Kahl was actually shot in the head and killed simultaneously as he seriously wounded a deputy.

so kohl says he was a B-24 tail gunner and was attacked by allied fighters .. that's hard to believe as the B-24 did not look like any nazi aircraft and the odds of that happening were close to zero .. sounds like a crap reason for self-defense !!

I was a LEO at that time, that's not how it went down. Kahl was cornered in a shed or barn of some kind. He shot an Arkansaw LEO, the bullet entered between the flaps of his vest and killed him. Kahl was eventually shot and killed.

That car was good year cars,I had 19 vehicles , and one van in my life,from 1979 to 1999 I bought these old type car, and best hard body cars in History,and now Cuba mostly has all those 1960 cars,I can certainly say I road in my dad car in 1965, and my Dad had one big Cadillac in the 60's,that was like sitting in a limousine,very comfortable.

After the first two minutes i realized that my FAVOURITE joke in this entire movie had been edited off so i pushed the "pause" button. Does it not seem just stupid when that prison officer asks that guy "Didnt you learn anything in (the prisons name which i dont know how to spell - i'm from Finland)?" then he answers just "sure". In this movie he said "Sure. A n**ger with a badge is still just a n**ger". And thats what made that officer look like he just got mentally back to the times where he used to pick cotton and tobacco. So nope, i'm not going to click "play" again.

Actually , the house destroyed was the first house he went to with the sweet old couple . The Jezebel that sold him out got the ten thousand reward " two thousand after taxes " and her shack was not burned by the feds .
