In the Spiritual Life, There Are Three Stages 

I literally, i faced this tempatation today and failed. Please pray for the Lord Jesus Christ to strengthen me!

@@TriggerStand brother pray for me I have nucturnal emissions demonic attacks constantly when I half-ass a prayer or I dont pray before bed, alao how do you manage to go 4 months? Your humility is great I barely get to 10~ days, has there been a time where you struggled in the beginning? What was the hold-back to the next level in spiritual growth?

I’d highly recommend St John of the cross’s Dark Night of the Soul to all seekers, regardless of the fact he isn’t orthodox. I’m my opinion he’s the greatest spiritual teacher ever. His understanding of scripture surpasses anyone I’ve ever read, and his understanding of the spiritual life is incredible. Dark night and ascent of mount Carmel are two of the greatest spiritual masterpieces I’ve ever read.

Forgive me for speaking, but Father Seraphim Rose a monk of the recent century commented on this- “ Why do men learn through pain and suffering, and not through pleasure and happiness? Very simply, because pleasure and happiness accustom one to satisfaction with the things given in this world, whereas pain and suffering drive one to seek a more profound happiness beyond the limitations of this world. ” In our faith we are waiting and striving for the reunion of God to his creation. One that is realized in the Christ- our nature while created Good has fallen in it’s mode or way of existence and the demons constantly clothe themselves in “natural” functions such as hunger and sleepiness, and even “happiness” it is easy to be tricked into thinking that since I want to or “need” to it must be good. This is called Hedonism and especially in modern times it seems hedonism- the belief that there is only pleasure and pain therefor all that is pleasurable is good- has taken hold of the present age where people give in to the passions of this world, but God is giving us himself- the ultimate good- and so we can either choose the temporal pleasure of this world and the eternal pain later or endure and learn and join ourselves to God through the pain he went through in our pain and obtain the eternal pleasure of communion with God. I am at this moment in some pain, and I call on the Name of Jesus-not necessarily to relieve the pain, but that Jesus, in Whom alone we may transcend this world, may be with me during it, and His will be done in me. But in pleasure I do not call on Him; I am content then with what I have, and I think I need no more. And why is a philosophy of pleasure untenable?-because pleasure is impermanent and unreliable, and pain is inevitable. In pain and suffering Christ speaks to us, and thus God is kind to give them to us, yes, and evil too-for in all of these we glimpse something of what must lie beyond, if there really exists what our hearts most deeply desire.” - Fr. It is designed for pleasure, and for one you can't fathom, but for spiritually healthy beings, which we are deeply not (even if we don't realise that) so we are undergoing intensive therapy here on earth. As one said, after the fall of humanity, God rearranged paradise into a hospital for human race, which our life is (for those who seek healing to be accepted back).
