Honestly, it's like you guys read my mind and changed every style point I thought was wrong with the old one and made it awesome. Cant wait to see them in the dealers
Agreed! Due to the aggressive front of the RR I was also expecting the same here. So at the and I can say that I am very happy with my R with the unique front from 2019. But the display is technically very nice on the new one 😁👌🏻
I love it! I miss my 2019 S1000R that I had to sell. It's really obvious that this product manager is genuinely enthusiastic about the S1000R. I hope I can figure out a way to buy one of these again...
I love this video. No BS marketing just straight to the point features and specs. All we're missing is the pricing around the world. All these improvements are much needed over the last generation. 👍 Why do some photos show a black front fork while all three of these bikes have a copper fork?
@@TucsonDude I`m in Norway and with the sport pack i`ve been given a price of 248.000.- NOK. I think that`s roughly about $25.000 US. I wish i could swing the ///M but....
@@EVILSPAWN1003 Wow! Is that normal pricing? I guess you have heavy taxes in Norway because they're around $19.000 in the US. How's your riding season? We can pretty much ride year round.
@@TucsonDude Actually they just knocked 9000,- NOK/$1000 OFF all new bikes (government taxes) so they`re cheaper now than they`ve been in a long while. BMW as a "premium brand",its a very fair price. No problem spending $30k,+ if you go for the M. $38k for the stock R18....A japanese literbike comes in at $18-22k. My neck of the woods we get them out from hibernation mid april but there really is no reason other than peace of mind. It`s freezing till mid May. And then we have till the end of September. (October for the masochists) You don`t know how good you`ve got it lol
As a proud owner the first S 1000 R of my region back in 2014 when it was launched, is great how incredible the bike has matured. Awesome job, BMW Motorrad team. By the way, guys, please, we need a better customer support here in Brazil. I remember going through a lot of hustle with the people here which I could not get support even thought I was more informed than they were. Today, my bike has been in storage for two years. Apart form the disappointing support from BMW Brazil, I really appreciate the S 1000 R. Again, awesome bike.
Hello Eduardo, Thank you so much for your positive feedback.🙌😍 We're really happy to hear that you love the S 1000 R that much! 😊 Concerning your complain we would really like to help and improve the service. Please send us a short description of the problem, your name, address including country, email address, the name of your local dealer and the VIN of the vehicle in a private message. All the best, your BMW Motorrad Team
@BMW Motorrad. Great video. Exactly what I was looking for after the launch. Pre-ordered an M package. Do the RR radiator protectors and tail tidy’s fit the new R? As dealers don’t have this info just yet. When is production scheduled? Might pop over sometime to do a factory tour when the world is back to normal.
Hello Brewster, great to hear that you like the design of the S 1000 R as much as we do! We're excited for your order - great choice with the M package! 🔥
Awesome video with some excellent and clear information. Now you going to do one for the 900XR for me please. Have a good festive season guys and thank you.
Fabulous effort by BMW thIS generation of S1000R - Great to see a more detailed factory video that explains in some depth the design and styling benefits -And importantly also explains the difference between the various models - And also touches on accessory options to customise to individual rider requirements + preferences (esp wheels, luggage, screens and phone/app navigation) - Dealers never get down to this sort of detail and can only very rarely be bothered artculating even a few design benefits - Great initiative BMW
That’s amazing! I wish I lived in somewhere warm to ride more often. Do you notice the age or it just as good as from day one? I put 4K on my 2017 that I picked up this year. Amazing machine.
@@chenchen8597 I can notice that it has aged just a tiny tiny bit. The bike has been great, in its lifetime and I’ve only had to replace the stator and the tps sensor. But honestly I can see myself turning 200k on it because it really does still runs amazing
@@jollyrogers7666 the rattle will always be there with the oem on startup but like around 25k I got tired of it and and replaced it with the manual cam tensioner
One thing to keep in mind, though. The bikes that have a huge muffler slung on the side are MUCH easier to get a nice, slip on exhaust for. On bikes on the S1000 line, you have a separate muffler and a lower cat that's welded to the headers.
Nice and creative informercial. How about more in-depth technical videos to understanding the technology of the R (and RR) in more detail…and getting to know some of the engineers behind it?
Cool bike. They made everything better. I think excluding the shiftcam was a mistake though. This is a BMW halo technology, and would have been great to see what hp they could have had.
I am buying it when it arrives Norwegian market, this will be my next bike for sure. I love the new front, looking like transfomer, damn! Great work BWM, devil in the details!
11:46 is guess I can't upgrade to new R untill I can say that. Curious on how the suspension handles at the track, my front forks always bottom out, also the old master cylinder leaves much to be desired
Those bar end mirrors - are they actually (much) better than the standard? Answered in the vid. I wish the new Speed Triple had been announced just to distract me from this.
Hello Gary, That always depends on personal taste - mainly optics and design when we speak about mirrors. They do not have much performance impact obviously.
Honestly I think BMW needs to make more options with the color packages. One of the main things holding me back from buying the S1kRR is it dont come with the M1kRR color options and I have to pay $5k to change it from tripple black.
This bike sweats high quality 😍👍 You got to admire the passion of Maximilian for the bike he created with his team. What could have been great is that you made a video showing the engineers on their computers modeling the chassis and engine etc of this bike. So motorcyclists can really become aware of the high quality and efforts made by the workers who designed/engineered this beautiful bike. I can't wait to see the shootouts that will be made by moto journalists against the competitors of this new S1000R ! 12:42 This feature is so great, the rpm color graph moving as the engine warms up ! wow ! The only thing that would be very interesting to know is why you decided to use an axial master cylinder for the front brake instead of a radial one ? Other than that it is a bike I would consider for my next buy. Really feels like it's a huge fun/pleasure machine 👍
Hey Lenso, thank you for your honest feedback. We´re really happy that you like this format that much. 😊 The opinion of our community is very important to us. Regarding your question: The new S 1000 R shares its master cylinder with the S 1000 XR, a bike that has been praised for its brake performance and modulation. In comparison to the previous generation, the new master allows for a design that nicely integrates the brake fluid reservoir.😉
I was waiting for 2 years to see the new release and potentially buy one when availble but I am disappointed by the front design which is less aggressive than I have thought it should have been. It almost erases all the great work the team has done and the technology the bike has. Once this fixed, I'm sure it's gonna be sold out fast... I'm "just looking" for the time being but thanks anyway.
you can tell this guy know every little detail of the bike, I hate when the people at the dealership don't know anything about the bikes theyre selling, I want to be sold the bike or at least try to get me excited tell me why its better than last years or just make stuff up lol
Looks amazing. Can't wait to see it on the dealerships. One question.! Max here say that the bronze side frame will be available on the M package but here we se bronze on the grey bike too.? I'm more interested about the grey color that's why I'm asking it looks great with the bronze side frame!
Hello Nick, the S 1000 R in the colour Style Sport and M package come with the good looking bronze frame. For further information and an overview of the individualization possibilities on the S 1000 R, feel free to visit our website: bmw-motorrad.com/en/shorturls/s1000r.html. 😊
Wunderbar! BMW you did absolutely fantastic! Life is short. M package for me. Now let’s get the new RT horn to wake up distracted cell phone drivers and backlit handlebar switches for night riding.
Hello Sean B., we are glad that you like it so much. The bike will be available early 2021 at your local dealer. You can find the dealer by following this link: www.bmw-motorrad.com/dealer Best regards, your BMW Motorrad Team
Und ich liebe die Idee mit dem Flaschenöffner 👍👍 erst mit der Maschine nh geile runde drehen und danach ein Bierchen und dann kann man es am Motorrad auf machen echt super Idee 🥳
When you talk about design as a product manager you should have known how old s1000rr design won the heart of people and how ppl hate the new design 🤷🏻♂️
@@s.k.6823 Apples and oranges. A similarly specced R will still be a lot cheaper. It's not like you are forced to go full bananas and order every single option incl. the carbon and billet packages, with you certainly have omitted for the RR spec price
@@Bikemax99 2000€ are a lot? That is not even 10%. Full specced R is more pricey than a normal specced RR. For full you talk 24k€ vs 26k€ in Germany. Hell for this price I want brembo stylema or M50 and Öhlins Nix/TTX (same Problem with the RR). This thing costs too much and the plastics look cheaper with every modelcycle (compared my old 2013 RR against a 2020 RR). And now it also has a very interchangeable look in the front too. I sold my 2013RR but don’t think I would go to the new R or RR Worst thing is this blue lock cover on the red bike 🤮
@Stephan Kluge with equal spec (features contained in the comfort and dynamic package, M package with carbon wheels and titanium exhaust, eCall, RDC) the German price difference is 2,900.03€. to many, this is not trivial. Even more so when you consider configurations without the M package.
