Because we are made to be creators and crafters, using both our bodies and minds in the search for perfection and harmony. We are not adapted to most of the contemporary jobs there are where you sit on a chair all day and play with the mouse and keyboard. I hope a new Reinassance will rise where Artificial Intelligence will do those other jobs while we have more time for us to find unity between our bodies and our minds.
Hockney is an amazing colorists ,brilliant set designer but portraits aren't his strength. They remind me of community college work. Now Lucian Freud, that was a portrait painter.
