@I say shotgun, you say wedding No I haven't, forgive me I believe it's wrong of me to give an accurate and true description of her character without having so. Someone did that to me once, I said something about the little mermaid, she replied back, I said haven't watched the movie and then she had a horrid reaction...... as if the movie is the basis of the little mermaid's story and not the cartoon movie we watched as we grew (at least as I grew). Anyway, what I intended to say above is that I feel she has potential to be a great villain, I like the way she can transmit power and dignity in some of her scenes. I love my lady villains.
Wow I didn't realise it was her! Brilliant acting, completely a different person/image as I had of her. Crazy thing is, she could play both roles! Herself 20 years ago would be perfect for Florence Pugh's role Lucile in this, too!
“I’d rather be pennyless and have the heart of a single soul that loved me entirely and honestly than have a hundred million followers that merely love the false reflection of a dying star bouncing off my painted lips.”
I’m such in awe of Florence Pugh. She brings so much in every character she plays. It’s impossible not to feel something when she acts and this was just 10 minutes but every minute was worth it! Alicia Silverstone was a pleasant surprise!!
Why is no one talking about the fact Zach Braff wrote and directed it, he did an amazing job don't get me wrong, he just feels like the most random person to do it
Each item was used in the film and shows simple, not overly glamourized, edited or paid for things. Simple things in everyday life that are taken for granted.
They just wanted a bunch of college kids to invest in watching a short movie they needed an excuse to make. There is almost no relation between the poster and the film. Sure, there was an apple, a pad of paper, pencil, and scissors, but, a completely different tone and essence. That being said, I really enjoyed the movie.
He used all the objects in the poster in the film - she ate an apple, the candle represents the time period, pencil, paper and notepad were continuously used by Alicia Silverstone, and the yellow phone was used at the end. Just a different perspective. :) It works!
Well just misses the part where the girl looks bland and boring before she get dressed and styled. But maybe they didn’t want to make such a hot girl ugly? I love her voice the most btw. Didn’t know of her before
Such an incredibly imaginative interpretation of seemingly random objects. Such a rich and lush world that was created with stunning sets and wardrobe. The acting was perfect...Zach Braff did a brilliant job with this short film and Sam West created a very cool poster.
this is the third time im watching this and i just realized that her alam is an actual rooster, like she has an actual live rooster standing beside her bed
This was terribly cute, but having just seen Portrait of a Lady On Fire, hearing "Summer" from Vivaldi's Four Seasons at the beginning may have been a tad triggering.
@@elinaihnatsiuk Not necessarily "add" to this, this was a perfect length. But it created a world with which one could play! There are endless possibilities and I love the style!
some people say the difference between art and decoration is substance. In the best way possible, this feels like the most breathtaking, fun, and well carried out decoration . (Huge props to the costume designer, set designer, and director.) This is as good as something can be while being hollow.
I LOVE THIS HONESTLY ! I clicked on it just to see the poster that won and then looked at the first few seconds of the shortmovie and ended up watching it all to the end ! Great job guys
The short film is very pretty, so is the movie poster. But they have nothing in common... Edit: now I know that the objects in the movie poster are all featured in the short film! Also, Eliza quotes the title of the short film while addressing the owl.
Same here. They just used all the things on the poster and made an interesting film but didn’t take any real inspiration as far as I can tell. Like yes all the things showed up in the film, but were completely irrelevant to the story. They could have been replaced by anything and barely changed the meaning
absolutely BRILLIANT. THANK YOU for making something WORTH A DAMN - something REAL, with meaning that we can all understand. Something that can speak to change.
The sets looked amazing! It reminds me of Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland what w/ the vibrant colors, the careless but deep feelings. It gives a whimsical sort of effect. Clicked on this cause the thumbnail caught my attention, glad I did!
I honestly love the poster, actually so much so that I think the poster brought me a lot more enterteinment than the movie that came of it. The movie doesn't seem relevant to the poster at all, and that left me disappointed because the illustration is straight down my lane.
I Love this 💕. I’m so late to the party, but I’ve been a ZB fan since GardenState, a FP fan since seeing Midsommar, and elbow deep working the pandemic. 💪 But Love is love and don’t let the trolls get you down! Don’t let the hate snuff the light you have just being yourself. You both do great work. I’d love to see a Scrubs type short about Respiratory Therapists during the last 2 years. It’s a great story. Maybe you could make one 😎🍀🥳
The phone, candle, apple and notepad are definitely in there. I didn't notice the scissors but since the rest is in I imagine they are too. And I feel like the whole general aesthetic kind of matches the poster.
@@juicybutterriblydrab The general aesthetic doesn't match at all. The poster portrays a sort of simple life, perhaps a romcom type of scenario. The movie was nothing but ornate stuff everywhere.
I see your point, but would point out that in all of the film, the princess only interacts with BASIC human desires (carnal relations a kitchen worker she fancied/wanting someone to hold her hand), and BASIC objects (eating a simple apple, surrounded by a bevvy of dancing decadent pastries). I think the relation is her desire to stray from the false, and just get "back to basics" (hence the simplistic movie poster contrasted with the overly opulent life that the protagonist is clearly frustrated with). Edit: spelling error
I also love the fact that this film despite all the funny and entertaining visuals brings the issue of mental health.. love it!!! Also love the end scene where the children said like
