In This Very Special Episode, We Pay Homage to Singer, Songwriter and Music Producer, Sheldon Reynolds, who passed away on May 23rd, 2023.
Sheldon performed with the Ohio based 70's funk band SUN and later The Commodores, but notably joined super band, Earth, Wind & Fire. When Maurice White became too ill to tour, Sheldon stepped up to center stage to keep the flame afire.
I was blessed to interview him in 2016 a few weeks after Maurice White passed away. This episode spotlights that interview in full.

What a giant talent this man had...He could sing, play the guitar, dance the dancemoves up font and center next to Phillip Verdine and Ralph, and play the in between solo and shredding that guitar to pieces...come on..that was just awesome to look at...Do all that at the same time..he completed the close harmony Quartet ... and now he too is up there in that superband with God as musical director..and Maurice at his side!!!

Thank you "The EntreMusician" for this Sheldon was a good friend of mine I'm a musician from Cincinnati, if you didn't know Sheldon Reynolds chances are you were a musician and didn't know Sheldon chances are you weren't from Cincinnati and probably not in the circle of the many top notch musicians around town we all love and miss Sheldon I would sometimes hangout in the studio in Los Angeles with him along with the other Cincinnati companions it was very heart breaking when we lost him may he rest in peace with honor,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Sheldon Reynolds was truly a gifted musician Genius and a gift to us in the group Earth Wind & Fire. Sheldon brilliant in his guitar playing. He will be truly missed. God took him home now. Beautiful interview with Brother Sheldon. Truly loved him! So sad that both he and Maurice suffered from Parkinson Disease which is really debilitating. Please keep his family in prayer and may he rest well in peace. Hopefully, he and Maurice are making beautiful music in heaven now. You should have 100's of likes on this page. I believe they will come.

@@TheEntreMusician Thank you so much! I am a bassist but I just had so much admiration and respect for Sheldon! Something about his skills caught my attention. I recall watching him in St. Martin with Sinbad's Summer Jams and Sheldon just stood out and made a mark on me as a musician. Thanks again.

Very sad hearing of Sheldon's passing. He did tell me sometime ago of health issues he was dealing with; however, his tremendous faith, love of music, wife, and children were a force in his life. It's hard to believe that almost 40 years have gone by Now it's time to rest, little brother.

I was always wondering what his name was .. I remember him being the lead vocalist during the sinbad shows in Aruba. He had such a calm presences playing and singing. .. wow. RIP brother.

Wow, I was aware of the recent passing of Jim Brown and Tina Turner, but I feel a bit stopped in my tracks learning the lost of Sheldon Reynolds. Sheldon was a very talented musician and was the key piece to fill in for the late Maurice White (if that was possible), because I always thought that he replaced previous EWF members like guitarists Johnny Graham and Al McKay, and he did that successfully since he’s a lead guitarist (in my opinion). Nevertheless, thoughts and prayers going out to his loved ones and kins people. In closing, thanks so much for a greatly informative interview and message! 🌍💨&🔥forever!

With all due respect to Sheldon Reynolds, may he rest in eternal peace. However, I must make the point that Sheldon once dated Janie, the sister of Jimi Hendrix. She is the head of the Hendrix estate. It was discovered that while dating Janie, he stole one of Jimi's vintage guitars. The guitar was later sold at a pawn shop in LA, and they contacted the estate. Sheldon was identified as the person who sold the instrument. I'm sorry that this comes at a bad time, but I have to tell the truth.
