I'm Gald that the Interview is in English !! Otherwise, I wouldn't have understood Tamil. Thank you BR Sir. If Possible, Bring Thyagaraja Kumarraja and also Lijo Jose from Malayalam. His films are deeply moving, wanna know what goes in his head!!
Many Films and Filmmakers. Every Mani Ratnam Sir's film is an eye-opener for me. Mysskin, Karthik Subbaraj, Bala, Vetrimaran, Sasi Kumar (For Subramaniyapuram), Manikandan(Exceptionally talented- Kaaka Muttai & Aandavan Kattalai), and many many other great storytellers. and Great KB Sir and Balu Mahendra Sir... Anurag Kashyap Once Said, "I breathe because of Tamil Cinema".. So, I pretty much agree with him. :)
I'm so glad that unlike other interviewers, Baradwaj Rangan focuses his questions on the movie-making process and the work involved in the art form. Unlike the others, he doesn't ask questions about the person's personal life and their relationship with big names. Great work. :)
I think kamal hassan understood the film language better than everyone in tamil industry him being actor sometimes ppl never notice his direction and screenplay work hey ram, virumandi, anbe sivam, are the best
Kamalji is talented beyind words. Buy sometimes, he is too much into his film and forgets the audience. Uttama Villain and Dashavataram are very artsy but too difficult to relate or connect to. ☹
Vada chennai is perfect material to become a brilliant web series. Big fan of Vetrimaaran sir. Love and respect frm WB. Dying to experience a web series by him.
Just one question ..why all directors promoting their own film ..they are making it and working day n night but still they have to promote their films after so many sleepless nights why actors are not promoting their own film ..when those days will come ..don't know ...it's really unfair ..👿👿
It's important that each person's role in making a movie is recognised and acknowledged otherwise, the actors only will take the entire credit. I am sure directors are happy to talk about their films in limited number of interviews
What he told about is the dubbing is the difference between a generic commercial movie maker and a Flim maker trying to give soul to the movie every way possible.
this film should have appeared before Kaala... then I would have loved it more... to be honest, I am disappointed by the climax which was very much like what we have already seen in Rajani's Kaala, I was expecting something like Scorsese's Goodfellas sort of Gangster collapse... or at least something like Casino.... but again Dhanush playing the role of the savior and saving the village happened all of a sudden... I had no clue... I thought this film is a gangster saga not social drama against capitalism... and nowhere in the film- only in the latter half, that too sounded pretty rushed- the gangsters are depicted as men with capitalist mindsets... all of a sudden it falls upon us...
It was a known fact that people appreciate inspirations these days. Polladhavan too was partly inspired by Bicycle Thieves(1948). I'll appreciate him for Aadukalam. But I found disagreed when I watched Visaaranai. I'll eagerly wait to see what the VadaChennai anthology will be going to make a difference in the industry. #BR my kind request, plzz plzz interview Thiagarajan Kumararaja!!
And I don't get what exactly were you disagreeing with him on the Visaranai topic? That it was inspired by real life events that happened in TN border?
@Sujan Selvarajah me too waiting and as well as wanting it to be a big hit so that we can get part 2 and 3 sooner and with better budget and other things
Vetrimaaran is a good director... That's it! Seems like he is overrated with tags like 'gem', 'best director'... For me mani ratnam and thyagaraja kumararaja are the best in terms of film making...
Why can't film makers make two versions of a movie where one gets U or U/A and another one gets A without compromise? And release simultaneously. Like 2D and 3D versions.
Ya How Could i Forget him,He is Certainly next to ameer or in between ameer and bala.Personally He is one Director Who will be remembered for ages coming than all these directors inspite of we not understanding his value at present
