It was indeed. A lot of fun that is. JetBlue always puts on a good show for inaugural flights and MCI did a great job with their party at the gate. Thanks for watching my friend!
Join me on JetBlue Airways flight 2222, JetBlue's inaugural service from Kansas City, Missouri (MCI) to New York City, New York (JFK). After many years of public requests for JetBlue to serve Kansas City, the Kansas City Aviation Department, JetBlue Network Planning, and the Management at Kansas City International Airport were finally able to secure a deal for JetBlue to serve the city with daily fights to/from Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) and John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK). Although JetBlue has competition on the Boston route, they are they only airline to serve Kansas City from New York's renowned international gateway. Kansas City becomes JetBlue's 109th destination! Included in this video is a detailed look at JetBlue's product, the entire flight from MCI-JFK, and all of the pre-flight festivities including the best balloon art I've ever seen at an inaugural celebration. For those of you who don't know, Kansas City is one of my home airports, and I have been one of those people asking for JetBlue service. People ask me why I don't fly JetBlue more often, and it's not because I don't love JetBlue! The simple answer was because they didn't fly to any of the airports in the area, including MCI. Well, they do now, and I was thrilled to help welcome them to one of my home airports! I look forward to being able to feature JetBlue on the channel far more often now! I hope this is the "Dawning of a Blue Era" for JetBlue and MCI. By the way, "Dawning of a Blue Era" is the name of the aircraft JetBlue chose to use for the inaugural day festivities. Enjoy the festivities and the flight! The blue jet airways very nice company... Thanks you for your share.. look many places to visit enjoy watching 💚🎉👍!! I am from Siem Reap Cambodia 🇰🇭🙏 by PhiromWalker!!!
You’re welcome my friend. I’ve actually posted another JFK video in the last couple of weeks. If you haven’t seen it, you should check those out too. It’s a Delta 767-300 flight from SFO-JFK. I also have several other flights in and out of JFK already filmed!
I'm excited to see Jetblue serving Kansas City. I've been waiting so desperately for years for Jetblue to start service to Omaha Nebraska and Pensacola Florida.
I love flying on JetBlue, but until now it was kind of a trip out of my way to get to a city where they flew. Not anymore. I have two more JetBlue flights from yesterday to post, and I plan on flying them a lot more from here out!
I feel jetlagged from watching this video. Anyhow, good view of Atlantic Beach coming in. JFK used to be known as Idylwild Airport, and in the episode of I Love Lucy where she missed getting on her cruise ship going over to Europe, she goes to Idylwild to get on a helicopter to take her to her ship which was en route out in the ocean.
Hi!, I was on that flight from Bos-mci I saw your setup and realized Hey! That looks like that dude from yt and sure enough it was, Nice setup and cool to see you on my flight. I love your videos!
Would’ve thought for sure DL serviced JFK-MCI. Good for B6 to start that up and with one of the best new planes out there. Surprising to hear the 220 does have a very slight buzzaw! Great video once again and congrats JetBlue!
The other carriers that serve the New York market, fly to Newark or LaGuardia. And in response to JetBlue, Delta is changing their Boston flights to mainline aircraft over the Delta Connection flights that were previously offered. A little competition never hurt though! As always, thanks for watching my friend!
I hope so, too. Btw, I'm also blind, and totally so. I used to have a Guide Dog, and actually 4 of them, but my last one passed in 2017. Do you have one, and if so, how do you feel about leaving the Guide Dog on the plane if you had to exit during an emergency?
Love those P$W engines. Apart from some delays, JetBlue is one of the best airlines to fly in the economy. 220,320,321 they are all very good on that arline and how they put it
I agree. JetBlue may not have a network to rival American, Delta, or Untied, but they definitely have a great product to offer. I am looking forward to flying them more now that they fly to MCI.
I think the development of Jet Blue is pretty remarkable. They have a nice market presence and with their A 321neo mint suites from coast to coast they set the standards for the US market. They also fly to London Heathrow with their A 321's.
@Skylight Productions I love that your doing JetBlue my favorite airline. And I’m sure other people do too. I know your a busy youtuber but I will encourage you to do an A320 or A321 from Boston to one of the many airports in Florida. I recommend Miami. Thank You! Safe Travels!
I do plan to fly JetBlue more now that it’s easier for me to get their flights. Now that they fly to MCI it’s much easier for me to fly them. Before that I had to fly to DFW, ATL, or ORD just to get to JetBlue flights. Anyway, Thanks for watching my friend!
It was great to finally meet you and LunaDog99 at the inaugural! I'm still editing my video and I might just link to yours if my viewers are interested in the full speeches. Poke! - Red
Likewise my friend. It was nice to meet you and it was great to see Luna again. When you get your video out, let me know, and I'll link it in the description and pinned comment.
Hey Skylite. You recently posted the short version of this video, which inspired me to watch the full version here. That certainly was a beautiful rolling takeoff. Do you think that around 25:39 the pilot switched from TOGA to climb power? And if so, is that common place for the A220? Maybe it's just my lousy ears, but with all the aviation videos I watch, I only hear it with certain aircraft. Have you noticed it on most of your flights? Anyway, as promised, I replied to your email. Would love to hear how things went with the second block whenever you have time. No rush, whenever you can. Take care. Be well my friend.
Yeah, I'd say that's likely what they were doing. They definitely decreased power at that point. Could've also been the autopilot being engaged, which could do that too. I will get back to you via email soon!
Very exciting times in Kansas City it seems! Not that I have any connections to KC, but I always wondered when and if JetBlue would ever start flying into MCI and now they do! Although JetBlue flies multiple daily flights here out of MSY, I’ve still never flown JetBlue just because of where they fly nonstop to. Looks like I’ll have to give them a try here very soon! Oh and was that FREE WiFi I heard?? 😉
It is free wifi, and it’s fast enough to stream live video! It’s excellent! I watched the NASCAR race from Circuit of the Americas on RU-vid TV on the flight from JFK-MCI.
@@sla31 That’s awesome! I’ve wanted to fly JetBlue for the longest, and now I want to even more. They seem like a great airline! Even my favorite airline Southwest doesn’t have free WiFi.
It's coming along nicely. You can see it from the outside pretty well from several of my videos. This one isn't the best shots I've gotten of it since we took off on the opposite side of the airport. I'm really looking forward to it opening.
Always enjoy a JetBlue sighting. Love their liveries and their creative aircraft names. Just curious. Why were you seated on the right side at the start of the flight?
I do love both their creativity when it comes to tail designs and aircraft names. Do they have one named "The Names Blue, JetBlue." If not they should haha. As for the beginning. That is actually footage I got on the previous flight from BOS-MCI. There were far fewer people on that flight so the cabin shots were much better. So, I decided to use them for this one as well so people in Kansa City, who might not be aviation enthusiasts could get a better sense of what JetBlue's product is like.
That's cool. I always wonder if the planes I'm flying on have a model version. I mean, the exact tail number. I know you can pretty much get any aircraft/airline model now, but specifically the same exact plane. I collect 1:200 scale models though, so I probably won't add that to my collection. Thanks for watching my friend!
I do plan to do that. It probably won't be super easy to figure out what flight that is going to be, but I do have some contacts at MCI. I'm definitely going to see what I can do on that.
That would be stellar for you and Omaha. Who knows, they also started service to MKE yesterday. Anyways, thanks for watching my friend. I appreciate it!
@@sla31 and in the jetBlue fleet that would be something that I can look forward to since I believe that they should have more of a mainline fleet serving more US destinations like the A320 and A220.
I am booked on that flight. However, I’m kind of disappointed that it’s so early in the morning. Not because I don’t want to get up that early, but because the flights going to be mostly in the dark. Or at least in dawn hours when it’s really difficult to film. I am kind of secretly hoping that Breeze decides to change it to a later flight. Maybe the 7 AM flight to Charleston haha.
Close. Well, I guess it depends on what you mean. If you mean what I flew on this particular day it was BOS-MCI-JFK-MCI. If you are talking about the way JetBlue has their flights scheduled, it's BOS-MCI-JFK-MCI-BOS. They currently don't have an overnight aircraft planned at MCI.
@@michaelsharp3615 no, they still flew the plane from BOS-MCI as a revenue flight. I was on it haha. It was just really light. Only like 10 paying passengers. After the first day, the BOS-MCI flight departs a little later in the morning.
