If they added music, school background sound affects and edited it a bit it’d be decent (if the headmaster voiceover bit wasn’t there, that bit is admittedly shit)

Everyone complaining about the way its shot thinking thats why it was deleted. Almost every scene probably starts out looking like this. Very rarely they fully edit a scene and then not include it.
It's not the best but not as bad as people are making out. Better shots, some background music, colour correction, and it pretty much fits in with the rest of the show. It's a good job the intercom thing got completely scrapped though. I suspect that after they casted Greg Davies as the head of sixth form they decided to have the headmaster be an unseen character. And the concept for the scene wasn't scrapped completely, all of the key ideas were still conveyed through scenes that ended up in the actual first episode. Oh and the shots of Donovan bullying that other new kid feature for about a second or two in that episode as well.
Everyone commenting the scene is shit. They hadn’t finished it, there was no sound or music which would have made it so much better. It’s not brilliant but it’s not awful.
Funny thing is they never used this stairwell in any of the final episodes. I know it's a weird thing to notice, and it's probably because I attended that school and knew it like the back of my hand but it's strange how they avoided it so much.
I started the year they finished, so I never really caught them. I lived opposite Northolt Airport (down the road from the school) as well so I wouldn't have really caught them in my area either. Believe it or not, the staff at this school set incredibly high standards for students yet found the time to take pride in their achievement. I'm sure despite the show being somewhat immature and at times straight up pathetic they loved it too just like all of the students did. They seem to have dropped standards now, the students aren't as smartly dressed and it seems more laid back, which in my opinion is better anyway. I mean when I started girls weren't allowed makeup, your tie had a logo on it which had to be an inch below the knot, guys weren't allowed long or 'extremely' short hair without permission (funnily enough the person who enforced this rule was one of those older lesbian ladies with incredibly short - nearly bald - dyed hair. She was lovely though, always made my detentions enjoyable) and you weren't permitted to alter your uniform in any way, no matter the weather. If it was raining, they had a raincoat they made you buy with 'Ruislip High School' stitched in to the pocket, if it was cold you had to put a jumper on, which was a v-neck 'fleece' sort of jumper with 'Ruislip High School' stitched in to the chest. If it was hot, things got extreme. You were not allowed to take off your blazer unless in class and had been given permission from the teacher, you were never allowed to remove your tie and you couldn't wear shorts if you were one of those kinds of people. Nope, all because their 'automatic temperature-controlled windows' would fix that for you. Yep, not somewhere you want to send your child especially when they leave after a year with the sentence structure of a 9 year old, as you can see above. Shit, I didn't even paragraph it well.
Ryan Fuller Wow, that's really insightful. It sounds unbelievably strict though, glad my school wasn't like that. What kind of tie was it and was it similar to The Inbetweeners one? Funnily enough, the school I was at (Webster's High School) had a tie incredibly similar to The Inbetweeners one.
It was strict. I went on to Stockley Academy after a year, and I regret it a lot. Not necessarily strict, just ran terribly and they didn't give a shit what the students did. The tie was similar, but had more definiton to the lines. There were also different ties, so one colour scheme per year. I think mine was blue and green.
Yea same here. The editing seems a bit strange too. Maybe it seems that way because there's no music. Uploader, where did you get these? Was it from a DVD or something?
Why are people mentioning the poor sound and colour as a reason it didn't make it into the final cut? It's got poor sound and colour because it didn't make it into the episode. It didn't go through production/editing. They're not going to waste time and money doing that for a scene that didn't make it
