As a woman, I'll just say it: the LEAST attractive trait I've ever come across is a defeatist and victimized attitude. The thing with approaching lonely incels, especially as a woman has some dangers to it. A female friend of mine talked to this one guy from her class who had very extreme views on gender roles but he only told her a few months into the friendship, the line of thought pushed my friend to stop being friends with him and he started getting obsessive and angry, stalking her online and stuff. She did not tell me at the time because she didn't want to escalate the situation, but she told her parents and her parents told the school and the boy got sent to a psychiatric evaluation and moved schools. I hope he is doing well ,and I hope this comment serves as an example and a word of caution about associating with these people.
I believe in strong gender roles and so does my gf, I hate people push that kind of stuff on others, women have choices. People like this are the people who genuinely need therapists. Like I understand rejection hurts but after a while you need to step back and hear from an outside voice what is happening or what's the problem. Even if it's from a friend or family member, most people don't bother giving advice that will purposely lead you in the wrong direction.
It doesn't work that way for everyone. Some people are lucky and have caring individuals around them who are willing to give them real advice. Some people are alone and don't have anyone to tell them they're going down a bad road. It's those people who fall the hardest and have to claw themselves out of the hole they dug. That's not an easy feat and takes time. Therepy also doesn't work for everyone and not everyone can afford it. It's a luxury. The only way people can change is if they truly want to change.
What I don't understand is how they blame ALL women for this and that. I have panic attacks and horrific depression because of what happened with a couple of different relationships but to take that and apply it to an entire sex is madness. It's equally as mad for women to blame all men for the actions of a few dangerous and crazy men. Some people are just bad and need to be contained.

I'm assuming the study he's referring to, is in relation to women in business vs women at home. The majority tested said they would be happier and/or were happier when being at home and not in the work place. The problem here is he is attributing a study of women to "All" women. This is the fallacy he is following, and he is wrong.
I'm pretty sure a lot of people who aren't doing retail or delivery (and it doesn't matter if they're driving a truck or running a train or even captaining a ship) or something else that requires your physical presence on the jobsite would be happier to work at home regardless of gender.

So, I have one comment about the whole, lonly person thing. I used to be that way. I used to purposely shut myself out of forming a connection with people. I didn't talk to anyone, and I isolated myself Frome everyone. There was a lot happening in my life, and I was in a bad spot mentally. But there was one person, that no matter how much I ignored him, no matter how much I told him I didn't want to talk or be friends, he didn't give up on me. About a month later, and I start to open up to him, and tell him what's happening. He became my best friend, and the person I tell everything to. He pulled me out at my lowest and I'm really grateful for it. Sometimes, a person that's alone and doesn't make an effort to talk to people isn't doing it because they want to. They might just have a viewpoint that simply isn't true. I didn't think I deserved to be happy, or have friends. But I know better now thanks to that one person, making in effort. Honestly, from my experience dealing with incels and I've done this more than I'd like, with the ones I've talked to, it seems to be in many cases, a total lack of parental support or guidance and in some cases abuse (mental or physical) -- coupled with not making any friends early on in life which results in this situation.
It’s pretty easy to understand them. they adopted a paradigm which frees them of any self reflection. Reflection that might be very painful or difficult to face. I genuinely tried befriending an incel on the discord group I was a part of. I thought I was making some really positive progress, then he ended up getting kicked for telling people he wanted to r-pe me. I feel like the reason he considers himself a traditionalist is the fact that he would prefer times to return to when there were gender-based/determined social roles. But who knows I could be dead wrong this is just how I viewed what he seemed to be trying to say.

There's a difference between critiquing society and actively absolving yourself from society. The former admits that society has both communal, but also individual, levels of contribution to every issue and both parts must attempt to solve these issues according to their level of involvement (or complacency). The latter does not. Rather, it often devolves to a point of view that can be best described as: "Me verses all the other stupid people". Where the "me' is those who are likeminded... and the rest are not, even if they reside on the same side of whatever issue they're talking about (such as unfair treatment of men and women in court, as an example).
Then you can toss in the part that internet plays in all of this. They can form together into communities and feed off each other, which it inevitably turns into a toxic mess and then when other confused youths go online looking for the guidance they can't find in real life, they find those communities and get sucked into them.
For 8:28, I’ll like to explain that sometimes it’s hard to just go up to people and talk. Like sometimes (or maybe even all the time), talking can get you stressed about what the other person might react or how you put your words into sentences. The thought of talking can really get your head spinning like crazy, that’s why people like me will either like to have people talk to us first or be alone. In eighth grade, I was like this guy, who couldn’t talk to anybody at all unless somebody makes the first move. So basically all through the grade (and the ones before that), I was lonely and wished somebody could talk to me, just somebody. It hurts seeing people talk and have fun while you just there, unable too. I’ll stop there since this comment is basically turning into a rant comment but I just want people to understand that there’s people who find it really hard to talk unless somebody talks first.

You’re thinking is part of the problem with the incel community they think that attractiveness is only judged off of aesthetics. When in reality people take more cues from body language and personality before anatomy, facial structure, height etc. the incel community purposefully shut themselves off from emotional connection and part of that is convincing themselves that they are too ugly to have success in dating. It’s a self defense mechanism that shifts the blame onto biological failings instead of personal failings.

I had first hand experience with someone who had this mindset. I didn't know this was a thing or maybe it wasn't a thing 10 years ago. In high school I had a male classmate and we became friends. They never once told me they liked me, they wanted to be more than friends or anything like that. I started dating someone and our friendship drifted apart. So fast forward to this year they reached out to me and referred to the above situation as "yeah remember when you rejected me and broke my heart" 😲😰 That was almost 10 years ago, this man is married and starting a family with his high school sweetheart..... He STILL harbors aggression and resentment towards me for simply not dating him. That's really scary.
honestly, I think there's equal blame when it comes to relationship problems in society I've never really had a girlfriend, even though I want one, but I know full and well that I'm not perfect (hell, I'm actually pretty damn trash) but I try to treat people with respect, whether I want to pursue anything with them or not, and superficiality exists for both guys and girls; skinny, white, rich and neurotypical has always been the golden standard of what people want in a partner, at least in terms of a first glance, since people can easily open up and develop feelings for people they wouldn't have initially considered; personality can go a long way once you get to know someone, but at face value, guys want Megan Fox, and girls want Chris Pratt, that's just how it is as for the LGBT community, I can't really say anything because I'm not a member of that community (although most of my friends are) so I just listen and provide support for when anyone needs it, whether they go through similar issues or not, I don't know, but I'm not going to make claims or judgements, because I know it's not my place also, it should come to no surprise that most of the guys who see themselves as actual incels and take pride in it are alt-right pieces of scum, the two go hand-in-hand like bread and butter, and honestly, if a girl who I thought was attractive told me that she was, say, a white nationalist or something, I would lose all interest in her within a matter of seconds, and it's good that other people are the same way and hopefully things will work out, not only for me, but for anyone who's struggling with this sort of thing (as long as they're not full-blown incels like this guy) but only time will tell, because the world, if nothing else, is unpredictable

BUT, i'm a shy guy, and in class if wasn't my extroverts friends, i didn't think i would make friend during school, so it's not just "my fault", but if the person are introvert, or have some social problems, it's not just their fault. But everything else i agree, he's just a guy who blame everyone for not being nice, or dating him... hahaha

The one question i HATE anyone asking ANYONE is "who hurt you?" Like that statement literally just tells people that their "trauma" isnt worth caring about and its very demeaning. Im not an incel, but when i joined a S*xual Assault support group and was asked "who hurt you" as a joke because i said "women can be attackers too".
I also know people with traditional or ‘old school’ beliefs who aren’t incels or uncomfortable people so that isn’t really a reason. You can have those beliefs (I do to a degree) but as soon as you’re a jerk about it, there’s the problem. The beliefs aren’t the issue, the attitudes that follow can become the issue(s).

We got to the point where he started comparing women to children I had to pause and it was genuinely hard to come back to it
It makes me laugh how so many people miss the "involuntary" part of incel and talk like it is a lifestyle choice or ideology. Most incels are decent people, most of course experience some degree of difficulty in dealing with not being able to find female companionship(and it is not just sex I am talking about). Many get together and support each other in a healthy way, some are bitter and toxic people and some are like this guy and just a bit odd and have some degree of bad ideas. This guy actually does make some decent and uncomfortable points in amongst the nonsense or just poorly expresses things that are to some degree true, most people will choose to dismiss and mock/attack the person making those points instead of actually considering them or addressing them in any real way. The way incels are talked about as a group is pretty ignorant and uncompassionate as they tend to be men at the bottom of society and/or people with mental health issues, physical/social disabilites or mental health issues. INB4 someone does exactly what I mention here and dismiss what I am saying with "you just can't get laid"
The unfortunate situation being that they needed help or intervention early on in their lives and by the time they encounter people who might have been willing to help them, they are too rooted in their beliefs and it's extremely difficult or impossible to turn them away from those beliefs.
I’ve seen some freaking deplorable shit from incels. This isn’t one of those. The things he’s saying are pretty mild and some of it is very accurate. I think I’ll have to go watch the source video for this because if this is the worst duck could pull from this video I’d like to see what he left on the cutting room floor.
Agreed. I'm a more conservative leaning woman and these people are being terribly rough on this guy. He's downright likable if this is how he really is. I think he's just young and needs some life experience and character growth. Pull that hair back, sit up straight, and don't lose that kindness that came peaking out between the clouds in this interview. Self confidence goes a LOOOONG way.

Luckily he has four older successful brothers to role model for him. Which I think is another big component and probably something Derrick is missing.

People are very shallow these days and seem to be looking for one offs and chasing the illusion of constant "butterflies" type of feelings in a relationship (that doesnt last for ANYONE). Its good that you guys can be there for each other and I hope someone intervenes for this kid instead of just a world full of ridicule that will ultimately affirm and solidify the negative veiws that he has.

5:30 there was a study that said that women (and men) were more prone to depression than the prior generation The man-o-sphere ignored that men were also affected and then came to the conclusion that this was because there was more women in the workplace than in prior generations however the study itself mentioned this affected people regardless of employment status equally. :/ so yea even stay at home partners. It’s just a catchy headline to a paper no one read that when twisted kinda sorta fits the misogynist view that women are better off in the home as trad wives
August didn't add this and he doesn't have to, but don't go harass this guy. Idk if he can be talked to and reasoned with to sort of un-teach the rhetoric he's picked up, but harassing him would only push him further into those beliefs and piss him off, which means he'll take it out on any unfortunate women/girls that he happens to come across at work, school, public, etc. That's all. If you wanna go out of your way to talk to this guy, have a reasonable conversation, really just don't be an asshole. Sad to see people grow up believing those kinds of things and seeing as how he wants to talk about it to people and have it heard by a large audience, we don't need him spreading those beliefs to other impressionable guys who will then treat women like shit
